I walked into the bosses office with a sharpie. Wrote "Jacob gone" on the 2nd. It's official. He laughed and said something about only living once.2 points

I'd be tempted to stay there and take the severance. The economy is really good right now at least around here and there are plenty of good jobs available at the moment. Plus, the older I get the less I like working shit tons of overtime. And they can shove their Saturday straight up their ass. That's me time.2 points

Official date is now April 28th, noonish. 1054 8th Street NE Massillon 44646 Host: noun, BIOLOGY an animal or plant on or in which a parasite or commensal organism lives. So I guess that's me, because in defiance of all that is holy I will again host the spring meet and greet or beat your meat or whatever the fuck. It's a good goddam time and I'm happy to infest my garage with you parasites. As per usual, this is a thread to suss out the best day to hold said circle jerk. Like last year, the beers will be brewed in house and you, the patrons are invited to request the variety. Last year we had an IPA, a Dortmund lager and a milk stout. Last year I smoked up some pulled pork that went over quite well, along with brats, Italian sausage and pasta. I plan on similar offerings this year unless anyone has a better idea. Post up. I want dates, I want beers, I want foods. A good host is controlled by it's infection.1 point

So I've been a union employee at my current company for 11.5 years and in that time I've watched the company shrink. It was announced last October that they will be shutting down a major manufacturing operation that will likely put me out of my current job as a quality inspector. I will have rights to a job I previously held in the carbon disk heat treat plant for about the same money but on a shitty 6 on 2 off rolling week schedule. Today I interviewed at a company closer to my house for an inspector position. They made it very clear up front that I would be working 55-60 hour weeks, not negotiable. The corporate culture seems to be far superior to where I'm at now, they actively educate and promote from within. The insurance is nowhere near as good or cheap as I have now, but is pretty much as good as I could expect outside of the company I work for now. There are also less paid holidays and I'd be giving up the 3 weeks of vacation I have at my current gig. I'm currently falling off the fence towards this new opportunity because eventually I'm going to be laid off from my current position. Being laid off entails a $24k severance package and 6 months of health insurance at my current rate of $13/week plus 6 months unemployment. They want me for this job, they made it very clear during the interview. I've been in the market for 4 months now and this is the best I've seen. While I'm eager to explore new opportunities, I am very accustomed to a 40 hr week and honestly, it's a bit terrifying to walk away from where I'm at and start something new. So advise me. I must be out of options for good advice if I'm asking you dicks in the middle of winter.1 point

oof....that's rough bud. One thing I've learned thru my families health struggles is the docs don't know everything, and it pays to research on your own. Try everything - the holistic stuff, whatever gives you some relief. You've probably already done this, but I bet there's a Psoriasis forum or FB page that may give you some ideas to try. Good luck to you!1 point

Sorry to hear about your struggles. I wish I could tell you about a magic pill or something, but I just don't know anything about psoriasis. I feel for you. It's tough when the body decides to do things we don't want to happen. Maybe the docs can come up with something else to try. Google Rick Simpson Oil, may this or something similar could be used if your willing to travel to states where it's legal (I believe similar products will be legal in Ohio this September). Keep up the fight brother!1 point

^^^^This is why I do the things I want to do now!My dad died at the same age I am right now...57.The only good thing that came from his early death is my realization of just how precious and short life and health are.Every day you wake up in good health truly is a blessing...don't waste it or take it for granted. If you can,do your California trip.I really hope you can do it soon and it's even more enjoyable than you imagined!!!1 point

I see people putting those mini red dot sights on Glock MOS pistols. IMO, an AR pistol that takes Glock mags is a much better platform for optics. Here's my next fun gun. Also takes Glock mags https://ruger.com/products/pcCarbine/specSheets/19100.html1 point

Saturdays are good. Your homebrew is excellent. Whatever flavors you want to make I'm sure will be great. The food last year was excellent as well. Great to get out & chat with some fellow riders. I'll ride my bike this year so I'll have earplugs for the mullet rock. If anyone has missed this so far you've missed out on a good time. If you decide to come don't forget to bring CA$H for Sam as he puts a lot of money & time into getting this thing together.1 point

oof.....I can feel it. I quit smoking 12 years ago, and every now and then still want to smoke the hell out of cig. Back in my stupid youth I tried just about all of the recreational items, but nicotine is the most addicting drug I've experienced. And it's subsidized with tax dollars. Wait! let me get my plaid paints up to my armpits, white belt, and start complaining about the government.....1 point

We have a cool house now, I'm really happy with it. One fun part it is being able to offer space to traveling musicians to crash for a night on their way down the road. These are the guys I just met who are staying in the guest rooms. Nice folks. Hope they don't wreck the place while I'm at work!1 point

Standing talking to my gf just now and she all the sudden freaks out... I look down and there's a scorpion hanging out on my shirt right on my chest close to my neck... Wtf lol... Luckily I calmly walked to the sink and pulled on my shirt and he fell, instead of running up my neck ? Smashed that asshole #AZProblems1 point

I was diagnosed in 2012 with plaque psoriasis. It is a progressive thing. It didn’t bother me to much for 4 or 5 years. I have it on the palms of my hands and a spot on my scalp. It has gotten to the point now that I am getting pain in my joints, psoriatic arthritis. Not good. I just went on Otezla. It seems to be helping, but the side effects were so bad that I quit taking after 10 days. Not sure where to go from here.0 points

I have researched it. My wife is a RN/ director of nursing, so we are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of stuff.0 points

My dad had that shit. I don't know if he had arthritis but he had the red patches of skin. My cross to bear is eczema. I guess that shitty skin runs in the family.0 points
