  1. I try and keep it around 400 but it varies. Days where there is lots to do are closer to 300. Days when it is just a freeway run it is in the high 400's. Days when it is all back roads are in the lower 300's. So 6 to 7 hours. We always plan stuff to see along the way. Even if it is just a quick stop for the world's largest cow. I plan the basic route then she hits the internet and finds those things. We stop for a real lunch at mom and pop diners most days. We also book nice hotels and make sure there is good food nearby. It's different from a guy trip to the Gap. Hotels, food and things to do are important. I joke about the casinos but she loves them, so we hit them. They are quick stops. As big as this trip was I maybe should have planned a day off somewhere. Not sure where as we were in the middle of nowhere most of the time. We did plan one shorter day to do laundry. Just hit a good laundromat and bang it out. We did decide at the last minute to do two 500 mile days the last two days. We were in Fargo. 1000 miles to home. Doing three short freeway days seemed like a waste of time. The first 500 was a long day as we spent 2 hours at Princes house. That was a 12 hour day, but not bad because of the break at Princes house. Unfortunately Prince wasn't home. Start out small, 3 or 4 days. Find yours and her grove. You will have to negotiate stops. My wife prefers more frequent stops although the last day I talked her into 130 mile runs between stops and she seemed to be ok and recognized the advantage. Frequent stops does not make it better it just drags it out when it is just a freeway run.

  2. They’d have to change the seat on the new Wing in order for the wife to even think about that. She actually just had me install armrest for her on the current wing. She calls it her baby carriage because she falls asleep back there. Looks like an old fart owns it but she’s comfortable. We are actually on a motorcycle trip this weekend. I didn’t get yelled at too much for ripping through West Virginia 50. I called that a win.

  3. Took it off before this trip. It raised the wife too high for her floorboards. I got brackets coming to fix that. Then I will report. I have about 150 miles on it. I love it.

  4. Shit man, if I don't downshift there I get uncomfortable. Take it easy. Ease her into the speed, if you scare her it will take a long time to recover. Took my wife awhile, but she is now fine doing 50 to 60 through the dragon. 130's on 90 in Kansas.....the only time she gets stressed is in heavy traffic.

  5. Using engine braking also increases your ability to slow the bike in an emergency. It will also respond better in the corners. Glad you are enjoying the big rig. They're certainly easier to ride than they look.

  6. We just did 675 miles in 2.5 days. Rode over to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. She said she had a good time and she is definitely getting more comfortable. She doesn’t seem to mind me getting aggressive on uphill corners, but gets nervous on downhill stuff. I found if I downshifted and removed that free rolling feeling she seemed more comfortable. Thanks the information. That’s helpful.

  11. So I've been busy. Updated the Givi hard bags and top case. Installed some Brembo Italian goodness in the form of master cylinder and levers to go with the rest of the Brembo set up. Installed all the Trex crash protection. Knights Designs lowered foot pegs. Spec tech tank pads. Finished installing the braided brake lines the previous owner didn't get to. Still to come heated grips, vortex V3 gas cap and throttle lock
