  1. Hey everyone, this is my introductory post on the forums here, it looks like I have to introduce myself before I cn look up the rest of the forums :fuuuu: Anyways, I own an 04 Saab 9-3. http://i1048.photobucket.com/albums/s374/Tyler_Marter/IMG_20130430_140307_zps9b90b936.jpg Mods include: -Td04L-14T Swap -Spec stage 3+ Clutch -Spec Aluminum LW Flywheel -Synchronic BOV -FMIC -Siemens/Deka #60 630cc Fuel Injectors -Full 3" Exhaust -Custom Intake -Koni Adjustable Sport Suspension, Vogtland 35mm Lowering Springs -TWM Short Throw Shifter -JZW Custom Tune @25psi on E-85 Trying to get into some track time this spring/summer along with autocross, but the car is still a work in progress with plans for rebuilding the engine and trans, and a gt3076 turbo, hopefully by the end of summer. I joined the forum to see how many groups or meets there are in the area, and to meet some fellow enthusiasts around here for some cruising. I've been to the meet up at Sawmill once recently, but went several times a couple years ago back when I had my first car/ Saab (03 9-3 auto, only flashed).

  2. I stopped by the bank to throw some money in the night drop ... the door was jammed, so I yanked it open. To my amazement I found a ziplock with a shit ton of $50's in it. A few thousand dollars from a local business. Damn, damn, damn I muttered to myself. Finished both deposits the right way and motored on. That's all.

  3. I'm putting my 750 back together and have all the fiberglass work done from laying it down last year. It is an ugly gray color now and I figure it is time to spice it up while I'm at it. The current paint sticks well but has a few runs in it. I plan on rattle canning it and doing some pin striping/masking to make it a little different. I'm a noob at paint so I need some advice. I don't know if I need to scuff it, hit it with primer, then paint/clear or can I just scuff the current paint and go right to laying the base coat? Do I sand all the old paint off and start from scratch? Any advice on this would be great as far as sanding, grits, prep, etc. I've read a ton of stuff online but everybody has a different opinion. I'm not looking for perfection since it will likely go down again. Thanks!!!!

  4. Ok so I've been smoking since I was 11 yrs old, I am 35 as of the other day, so doing the math that means I have been smoking for 24 years, and I have been smoking 2-3 packs a day for the past 3 or 4 years. Regardless what your thoughts are on smoking and why I should have never started to begin with isn't something I'm posting this for. Ive tried many different methods to quit, all have fail. Welbutrin was prescribed for my by the Navy flight surgeon during my second year check up, completely useless other then making one feel better about themselves. I've tried nicotine gum (tastes like shit imo), Nicotine patches (I can have one on and still smoke 1 and a half pack), as far as Chantix goes, I've got to many reservations on it. Hypnotism is something I didnt consider because I think its more of a fad then anything. I've been doing some homework on Vaporizer E-Cig's. So far I have managed to make it 56 hours without a cigarette. That's the longest I've managed to go without a cigarette on any of the other stop smoking aides. Has anyone else tried to stop smoking? Whats worked for you, what didn't work for you? I know a lot of people who say they quit cold turkey, and I have tried several times, I just cant do so. My will power sucks like hell. My ECig seems to do very well at curbing my cravings.

  5. ... Well just for a couple of months at least. I got a job up in Maine flying sky divers I am up this week for training and then I will be back for about a week and a half packing up then I will be gone until the weather turns to shit again. Bad news- I won't be able to make it to anything. Good news- I am actually getting paid to fly and will be able to save up for another bike! Chances are I will have a going away drinking thing before I leave.

  9. I didn't think I'd wake up this morning and defend the police, but here goes. Police aren't robots, they're human. Human beings make mistakes. Also, no human alive on this planet has a complete understanding of the massive beast that is the breadth of laws in this country, at ANY jurisdictional level. You're interchanging two issues here that are, by definition, separate. If a citizen honestly did not know they were breaking the law, but was still violating the law, then that's still an illegal act. Ignorance isn't an excuse, but if you can show in court that you have mitigating circumstances, then that's why we have judges to exercise judicial discretion. This, however, is a COMPLETELY different issue than a cop who willfully disregards the statutes that he/she are aware of. Here, you have a intent to deprive you of your rights, and that by itself is illegal. The real problem is the police have no accountability for their actions and are shielded to an incredible degree by their unions and others that would seek to lionize them. THAT is what needs to change. However, if you still believe that your knowledge of the law needs to change, there are plenty of law schools in this country that would be happy to have you as a student.

  13. For the sake of your loved ones, try harder. I begged her to quit for years. She gave me excuses like stress, that I didn't understand how difficult it was, how she had no willpower etc. I begged her to quit so that she would be around to see her grandchildren. I found out after she died that she was so desperate to have grandkids that she put every spare penny into a separate bank account so she could afford a plane ticket to come and see her first grandchild (she would have flown from the UK to Ohio) and spend some time here to help out. She was never rich so it took her several years to save up for a plane ticket. She never met my son - she rode her can't-quit excuses to the grave 3 years before he was born. All I have is a couple of pictures of her, one which sits above my monitor as I type here. Do what you need to do, but every time the craving hits you need to look at your loved ones and remind yourself that you are doing it for them, not just for yourself. Off my high horse now. Sorry.

  16. You should probably take a trip to Vultures Knob if you want anything technical. Great set of trails there including some down hill and man made obstacles. Did it once but it is not newbie friendly. Its OK if you are competent as you an skip most of the big obstacles. The ones I did yesterday for the most part were technical and slow. Lots of roots, quite a few rocks and tree trunks. One section followed an old stone path with lots of stairs . Made it down but was not going to climb more than a couple at a time. Craig
