He's right though! So many people behind the counter just trying to make a sale. Best advice I was given when I started looking at purchasing was to go to a range and try it out first.

I pull my weight I pay rent. We split everything pretty equally, that way neither of us are being a drain on the other.

he hasn't invested any $ with me yet, so if he gets any from me then it will be an amazing investment.

Not yet. At least he's letting me think that it is my choice

I'm tentatively in. I plan on getting a job at some point between now and then, so... Yah... Adult time I guess.

I had it last week, same deal. I have to say though, this was the weirdest cold I've ever had. It made me SO thirsty. I drank over 200oz of fluids (water, OJ, gatorade) a day and I was just thirsty still.
-
aww that's sad.
-
when did that happen?/how do i get in on that I'm technically staff now.

congrats! I did next to nothing last week, barely got out of bed because of a cold & allergies. today, I almost signed up for a half marathon on October 4th, but since I haven't been running, I was thinking maybe I should run this week and see if I have a chance of finishing... although, if I sign up, that's pretty good motivation to just do it. How are the fitbits treating you guys?

I'm sure if you end up needing a hand, someone will help ya out.

I feel like we should have an OR group outing.

Well, finally got my running shoes back, so I guess that means I'm starting to run again tomorrow.

woo sah. so, welcome to the internet, where butters says mean stuff, explains himself after being called out (I mean, that is practically an apology), then the new guy gets frustrated. DarkRider, send shadyone a message if you haven't already, that will be the best way to contact him personally without dealing with all the internet a-holes on a side note though, offering $5 for a coin you think you would pay $50 for... we're a community here... lowballing people we like will get you typed at with all the fury of the internetz.

From my understanding, disability income is USUALLY more than minimum wage... depends on a lot of factors. You can qualify for medical too, whereas flipping burgers likely gets you paying your own medical. my *edit* I could be way wrong on the numbers, so someone please chime in if I'm wrong. I'm basing my understanding on a few situations that I'm aware of for people who I know. They were not disabled from birth, so I'm not sure how that affects the situation. I guess this isn't relevant to the OP, but I just read from a .gov website (http://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/whdfs39.pdf ) that the people who are not subject to minimum wage are those who are under "section 14©" and simply being disabled is not sufficient to be under this classification. People in this classification are those that have a disability that limits their capabilities to complete the job. If a company is going to be paying minimum wage, what is their motivation for hiring people who are physically less capable of completing the required tasks? I'm not saying that those particular people don't deserve to be paid more, but I feel like these news people that flash this story around to infuriate people don't push the possibility that perhaps the companies that hire the people under section 14c are doing it with good intent, not to screw over disabled people. Although, maybe they just hate disabled people.

From what I understand, they are people who are otherwise unemployable and likely already on disability income, which has a cap to the amount of working income you can pull in without losing your disability. Also, as a benefit of being an 'employee', they get benefits that allow them to lead a more social life.

We did this thing called "the swing". If you look at the first pic, at the platform where the lady is sitting, you're hooked into some wires and you basically jump off of that platform and about 1/3 of the way down, the wires swing you away and you end up swinging back and forth for a bit. Even though I saw several people successfully do it, I still had a hard time convincing my legs that it was OK to step off of the platform... even the second time I did it, I had to say out loud, "step off the platform"... so crazy. I definitely spent about 5 mins in the middle hugging the pole too. Just, sitting, hugging the pole. lol.

Did anyone even know this place exists? I've lived in Columbus for over 10 years and have never heard of it. Summit Vision, this is one of the courses. and, trying to not lose my balance This place is crazy! There's another high ropes course, a zip line, an obstacle course, lots of really cool things. So, is this just a fantastic columbus secret? or am I the only one that hasn't heard of this place?
