  1. I lost my key in January, finally got around to replacing it yesterday. Everything was put back together and I tried to start it, found that the battery was dead. Bought a new battery and installed it today. Put nice fresh fuel in the bike. I try to start it and it doesn't start. Definitely not the battery or fuel. It sounds like there is some air going through the exhaust when I'm trying to start it. . . So what's next? What can I check right now? I'm going to turn into a whiny 7 year old in like 10 mins if I can't get it started.
  2. idk how I waited that long, honestly, I think I was just too busy with work. nope just the ignition... I can't joke with people like that with motorcycles, they might assume I mean it. While we were in there, I found that my air intake was kind of taped together. always love surprises while disassembling a bike!

    Surprise! tape.

  4. Update: Two months later, I snagged hwilli (and his ridiculous amount of tools that I don't have), we spent ~45 minutes taking the front end off, and 15 minutes at Ohio Motorcycle in Hilliard. 2 new keys cost me $16! Yay, time to get a new battery and finally get riding this summer!
  5. I'm going to buy a new windscreen soon and I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I know there are a couple different shapes that I can get for my bike, does it really make a difference though (since I'm not really a speed demon )?
  6. I've been getting super frustrated lately with the people who are stopped at red lights and texting down low so nobody can see them, then the light turns green, and they keep sitting there. I have to beep at someone at least once every two or three days. At least when texting and driving wasn't illegal, they texted above the steering wheel and could see the light change colors

    Need Cliff's Notes

We should put a list of people who get banned and why in a news letter. That is clearly more important than any info on riding that you can get from this site
  8. what the hell? how does he keep them there? I can't keep my purse from sliding to the side of my tail seat even with a net holding it down. he must have some skill.
  9. what luck for the bicyclist. that could have ended a lot worse.
  10. Pictured rocks (west side of UP) is beautiful and there's a couple towns close by if you're not into camping. There are some really nice short hikes and beaches there too. My fam has a cabin on the east side of the UP, but honestly I probably wouldn't purposely vacation there if we didn't have someplace to stay already. However, when we're there, we go see the bears at Oswald's Ranch, this time of year they will probably have a cub that you can hold. Traverse city is also really nice, good beaches, some nice kayaking/canoeing too.

  13. hrm I don't wanna see that.... I didn't even want to think about that. men in thongs :(
  14. I'm not sure about the map set... sorry! I can see if I can remember to ask next time I see him!
  15. Um, don't laugh, but the feature I use the most is the elevation change tracker thing... when I'm coming up on mile 15 and I just want to have my shoes off and eat a baconator, I stare at the elevation change map so I can see how hard the rest of the trail is. My roommate uses it when we're trying to get to hard trails. We went to Utah a few weeks ago and used it to find a path that wasn't very apparent.
  16. My roommate has a Garmin Oregon 450 and he said he got it for ~$250. We've used it hiking a few times and its pretty snazzy.
  17. yeah, and they said I could submit a complaint online.
  18. I've never been able to go through the air ones. I've been through one before, I think at the CN tower in Canada? Idk, but the dude there explained it and it made sense, puff of air, checks for certain molecules to determine if you've handled any chemicals or explosives. I always seem to get shoved towards the back scatter machines, so I refuse if I have time. The only time I've been in a screening area with the millimeter machine I got send through the metal detector instead anyway.
  19. I agree with Cheech. Plus, the claims that John Hopkins says that the scanners are safe is absolutely ridiculous. I actually read the parts of the report that they didn't blank out (a while ago) and if I remember right, it basically said there are areas of concern including to the sides and above the machine. They also said that the equipment was tested in a test setup situation and not in actual situations where they are used such as at the airport and so they refuse to draw conclusions about the safety of the airport security equipment. The lies that have been pushed on us by the TSA is absolutely unacceptable, so refusing the scanners are a little bit of my personal protest.
  20. ... I'm confused, you don't have to remove the laptop from the bag to go through the xray if you have one of these bags? I normally carry it in my backpack and always have to remove it to go through the luggage scanner.
  21. I think they should apologize for trying to use this to create another money sucking program/department and making one of their students look bad in the process. It appears that there was only one legitimate incident to report over the past year. I think with 50,000+ students that means that there isn't a lot of 'hate' and they should stop trying to act like there is. Its getting annoying!
  22. OSU's "Hate Task Force" has released a report stating "On April 4,2012 during the “Hoodies and Headscarves” event on the Oval a man was detained for flashing an empty gun holster at rally participants." 1. apparently the university supports dissemination of vaguely incorrect information 2. apparently we're not allowed to have empty holsters on campus anymore?? or we'll be detained?? I'm still confused about why they are trying to categorize this as a hate crime. I personally haven't heard anything that would convince me that it is "hate" or a "crime" ... what is going on here?!
  23. OsuMj

    Hi!

    welcome, I'm at OSU too.
  24. sorta, I only get a paycheck because most of my work is on here... its hard to work when my computer is all jacked up I still can't grasp why the TSA is still operating. It is blowing my mind. .... srsly.

    48÷2(9+3)=?

Finally, someone sees my point... the * is not there!!! If it were, then the above logic would be correct.
