I did put it in its own bin. When you opt out of the backscatter machines, they forbid you from touching your things and carry them all to a different table before vigorously groping you. Anyway, I was gonna see if anyone has had to file a claim here... see what the real process is like. I think some of the stories I've read online might be a little embellished (I hope!)

It hit a table before hitting the floor. So far (and I haven't tested everything yet), I've found that the plastic protecting the hinge is chipped so I can't open it up all the way and expect it to shut normally. I've read that claims can take from 30 days to 6 months and there's a good chance it will get rejected anyway. . . I still can't figure out why the TSA is allowed to handle my valuables in the first place.

I stayed in the MGM Grand for a few nights too and was not that impressed. There was an empty room with a blaring alarm clock that I had to call to have someone turn it off 2 or 3 times and they put me in a room close to a room they were doing construction on so I had the pleasure of hearing their hammers and drills going all day. It was waaaay over priced for what it was too - but don't get me wrong, it was pretty nice, and I saw Manny Pacquio and Ryan Stiles in the lobby.

I've stayed at the Riviera twice and it was the cheapest "on the strip" hotel. Its actually just a couple blocks north of the strip across from Circus Circus, close enough to walk. It also has free parking if you're renting a car.

This is the precisely the reason I'm getting my phd in mech eng. Its fun, I really enjoy the research that I'm doing... but the awesome part is that I get sent to conferences all over and I get to tack on vacations every time. The best part is that school is free. If you get above a 3.0 in undergrad engineering, you can easily get a research position that pays you to go to do research and takes care of your tuition. So while I'm not bringing in mad moniez right now, I get to take a couple pretty sweet vacations every year, and I pretty much make my own hours. I have to say, I do think its cool for people to go to school and study something that they are passionate about, but the people that go $50K into debt studying a field that they probably won't be able to get a job that will adequately pay them to pay off their debt , I just don't get. If you want to learn something that badly, learn it. Read books. You don't have to pay a university for that.

I would have flipped the fuck out if I ever found out that my parents (without warrant) decided to "test" me. Either you're doing a good enough job parenting him that he listens to you and follows the rules, or your not... but that's a test of you, so hopefully he understands that and doesn't think you don't trust him.

I had a laugh when someone tried to convince me that their friend ( who was not casper) owned OR and therefore I should get with them... even after I was like "no he doesn't" he insisted that he did.... then I thought, I must look like a huge nerd that trying to convince me to get with someone consists of trying to convince me that they own a website.

Oh... that was early in the night too... wasn't drunk enough to do anything but turn around and walk away. He called me a princess in an italian/luigi voice and asked me for a kiss.... then later he said something like "i'm gonna write sweet meat on this name tag bc my last name is sweet." . that's fucking weird. You have some sort of a foot fetish? I vaguely remember this conversation... I think. wow.

I don't go on rants all that often, but damn I am so sick of being treated like a child because I am in school. I'm 26 years old damnit treat me like it!!! I don't understand the disconnect in people's mind where a person who has a job is an adult to be respected and a person who is in school should be pushed around and talked to like they are a child.

I can't get over how advanced the medical field is. I had a close family member with seizures for nearly 50 years and when they finally had enough of it, they had their temporal lobe removed, made a full recovery in less than 3 months, and was back to working just after that - seizure free for about 5 or 6 years now.
