  1. Not on the flash topic, but I got the chance to use a friends 100-400 f/4 canon lens to shoot my daughters gymnastics meet last weekend. Never figured I would put my hands on a big white lens. It took some awesome shots, not qute fast enough, but took great pics. I have the 55-250 IS lens, and it takes great pics also. I would like to get a 70-200 f/2.8 if she stays with the gymnastics and soccer, but the glass is high, so I may have to settle for Sigma or Tamron.

  2. Been hard at it too. Working with a personal trainer outside of my running. I havent lost a ton of weight....12#, but my core strength and balance is a lot better. Last week I ran my best 1.5 mile @ 13:12, and my best 5K at 28:35. Looking forward to getting outside and hitting the asphalt.

  3. My Dad has a 1969 Seeburg LS3 Apollo 100 Selection Jukebox he wants to sell. It is in good working order and plays well. He has had it about 5 years, but just bought a 1954 Seeburg 100r (happy days style) and no longer needs this one. The first link is the actual Jukebox, the second is a link to a company that specializes in coin op jukeboxes. He would like to get $550 out of it. If you need 45s for it, he has a lot to choose from for a little extra cash.

  4. Since it is cold as balls outside, maybe everyone could throw up a workout that you do when you cant get out and run. When I am at work, 3 of us do a different workout every shift day. one of them is a 300 workout. (not to get the airbrushed abs like in the movie). 300 total movements. I think it is on you tube, and includes a lot of lower body stuff like lunges and squats. these really get your heart rate up, work the crap out of your core, and use minimal weight. Trust me, you will be sore.

    This is my workout

    25 pushups

    25 sit ups

    10 step ups per leg with 25# dumbells

    20 bike kicks

    10 Cleans (long bar with 25#'s each end, start in squat position and throw to chest) if you still don't get it, check www.crossfit.com videos

    10 standing side crunches per side. I hold a 45# plate in the opposite hand

    20 leg raises

    20 bench dips

    plank 60 seconds

    each side plank 60 seconds

    rest and repeat 2 more times

    try to transition from one to the next with minimal rest between. Take five minutes at the end of the rotation and get a drink, let your heart slow down. this can be done in 30 minutes or less.

  5. Heading to my place at Apple Valley for the quarterly meeting of the He-man Woman Haters Club. 'Bout 10 of my buds and me, plus Charlie the Wonder Dog.

    Al K. Hall will be there, along with poker, fire (hopefully only outside), Crash Davis' famous one pound wonder burgers, and possibly a trip to the Foxhole (wrongly named) in New Castle....:D

    I know where that is, and that is a shit hole, you should be ashamed to even say that.
