  1. screw the reasons... shake the damn tree and let the rotten ones fall out...
  2. I'm calling either error by Delta employees or bullshit info. http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/checked/index.jsp Active duty U.S. military personnel traveling on orders to or from duty stations are allowed up to four checked bags in Economy Class and up to five checked bags in First and Business Class on Delta and Delta Connection® carriers at no charge. Each bag may weigh up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) and measure up to 80 linear inches (203 cm). Additionally, military personnel traveling on personal business will be allowed two checked bags up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and 62 linear inches (158 cm) at no charge.
  3. The two news articles says Saturday, noon to 5pm. but it doesn't say which Saturday. I suppose it's this Saturday, the 11th. They are dreaming of a million motorcycles. I think not quite that many. But anyway, if you're planning on being downtown that day, you might want to avoid the crowds. Conversely, plan on a lot of motorcycles on the road everywhere that day. http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2011/06/07/foes-of-senate-bill-5-plan-motorcycle-rally-in-capital.html?sid=101 http://www.toledoblade.com/Politics/2011/06/06/Bikers-to-ride-against-S-B-5.html
  4. holy crap, three racers have died already. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/13670951.stm
  5. Middle Ages didn't have bankruptcy. Do you know what the punishment for gross indebtedness was? They took the offender to the top of the tallest building in town and dropped them off head first... They didn't have a lot of credit problems, lol...
  6. Simulated mortars (C4) and real machine gun fire. The best part was (in the dark) rolling over on my back in the mud and thinking "ahhhh pretty tracers..." About two feet above me. Couldn't hear too well for a couple of days, I forgot my earplugs...
  7. That's incredibly awesome, lol... I've no clue why they would actually do that.
  8. Watch yesterdays TV episode of Isle of Man 2011, on Brit website replaying TV shows. http://www.tv-replay.co.uk/01-06-11/isle-of-man-tt-2011-itv-1-itv-player-102001.html Good luck getting it to run though, it would not load for me. BBC also sometimes runs the bike races on their website. I haven't looked yet. edit: cheapest roundtrip flight to Isle of Man I can find is 2886.38 USD
  9. Which is why you should not... oh, and the word for the bike is Rad
  10. I remember doing one of those and getting paid for it. Oh wait, that was the US Army... and the barbed wire was real...

    Bad Day

I drive them till the frame flex makes serious noises....
  12. oh crap... pics vids and link hunting this week, I guess... no worries, I don't throw much data files away...
  13. If you do call around for prices, get the name of the person that quotes one for you. Otherwise, when you get there, they tend to offer half the amount of the quote. I've been hearing of people getting up to $500 and over for dead vehicles. Although some yards won't take old carberated cars at all. Only Fuel Injection. edit: It's really by weight and demand. If it's a heavy & popular vehicle, should get more.
  14. What type of bike do you ride? thread... It says: 42% sport 14% cruiser 13% sport touring 9% other 7% dual sport 6.5% dirt bike/ATV 6% standard 2.5% scooter the other is probably race track only or no bike right now and a good percentage of clowns that probably voted something other than reality
  15. I had this one, now worth about $260: And if I didn't know better, I'd buy one of these right now:
  16. Do you realize that Mr Potato Head was the first toy ever advertised on TV? I saved every penny I had to get that $215 for a Honda 50 when I turned 14. You could get a motorcycle license at 14. Of course, they changed that to 16, a few weeks before I turned 14. And then changed that to 18 unless you had driver's education in school. Argh... never did get one...
  17. Ha, that's not a flashback. Here ya go...
  18. Avon was an acquisition by Cooper in 1997. Avon still remains a competition tire manufacturer. So Avon is still doing their own thing. A very popular motorcycle tire in Britain. But I don't think there is much of a comparison between Cooper and Avon. Avon is a tire I'd be interested in trying out though.
  19. Just for the record... some of my uber intelligent friends have no street awareness at all. Or basically no real world common sense.
  20. See the bright side. If it wasn't for rain, this would all be a desert. And we'd all be very thirsty and hungry. Having said that, I think it should only be allowed to rain at night while we're asleep.
  21. you wish oh geez, did I say that out loud?
  22. Yeah, the new dual and triple compound tires are lasting longer. Some are multi compound on the rear only, some are both front and rear. Rear only types have a matching single compound front. Sport, touring and racing types. The ones that I can think of: Bridgestone BT-016 Bridgestone BT-021 (rear only) Bridgestone Battlax BT-45 (bias ply rear) Bridgestone Battlax BT-002 Racing Street Tire (F&R) Dunlop RoadSmart (rear only) Dunlop Sportmax GP (rear only) Metzeler Sportec M3 Michelin Power One Michelin Power Pure Michelin Power Race 2CT (F&R) Michelin Pilot Power 2CT (F&R) Michelin Pilot Road 2 Michelin Pilot Road 3 Pirelli Diablo Corsa III (rear only) http://www.suzukihayabusa.org/forum/index.php?topic=130324.0 http://www.rattlebars.com/tirewear/index.html Some of the newest single compound tires, are now using a dual curing process, resulting in similar results to the dual compound tires. An example would be the Continental Conti Race Attack.
  23. Jeep forums swear the General Grabber HTS is the best tire and price. It's probably what I'll try on the next set of tires. I have Uniroyal Laredo on the old Jeep, which are more heavy duty than a passenger tire. No problems with those. Good Winter grip. The new Jeep has some sort of Firestone that are noisy and out of balance and not holding air. Don't like them. Terrible in wet, ice, or snow. But the Jeep forums list one of the Firestone tires as the second best tire. Go figure...
  24. Sears had a "made in China" box for really cheap. It was like 30 bucks and they included a universal mount with it. Don't know if it is still available. I'll look. This looks like it. The original one on sale last year has a dead link. http://auto.sears.com/automotiveparts/2010969p.htm?filterid=c14523j15 Exactly identical to a JC Whitney item. http://www.jcwhitney.com/motorcycle-travel-trunks/p2010969.jcwx I don't know if I'd trust a low cost box to have water proof seals. These are basically a Givi copy. edit: Comments say identical to a Givi. You'll have to arrange your own rack for it.
