bump... some of us are thinking about the pancake breakfast, before the ride. Which would mean an 8am to 9am departure from Columbus. We're considering a departure from Iron Pony if others want to go. Otherwise we're winging it. Typically that's too early to get anyone up and going. We'll see what happens. edit: And ice cream after is mandatory.

IDK, I've done lots of carbs, but fuel injection is just way cool. If it's less parts and less weight, and does the job as good as or better, I'll take it. My first riding impression of fuel injection on a bike was: I'll never have carbs again. A good fuel injection system should produce both more power and better fuel economy, compared to carbs. Besides, find me a car sold now that has a carb on it. I don't think there are any.

Back to basics... It doesn't matter who you are, where you are, or what is happening. If a LEO asks you twice to do something, you better say "Yes Sir" and do it. The third request might be while being detained or placed under arrest, with or without handcuffs. Just to get you out of the way, so they can do their job. It's a safety issue, both your safety and theirs. When police are on the scene of a call, they are in control. No one else. And they don't need out-of-control people around. short answer: Yes, a bad or jammed float would make it rev sky high. Oversize rebuilds usually are in increments of .25mm up to 1mm. For a small piston, anyway. So two more overbores, I suppose. Often the bore can be honed and fresh rings used, without going oversized again. So you have more than two rebuilds left on the motor. edit: You do know you have to mix oil with the gas for that engine, right? Somewhere between 1:20 ratio and 1:32 ratio would be about right. Check the manual for details. Are the footpegs solid on that bike? I remember that Metric bikes used to have solid footpegs, like a bar of steel across the bottom of the bike. You didn't want to hit that thing on the pavement. You actually had to stick your toe out a bit to feel for where the street was.

I refuse to admit what I may or may not have done to vehicles assaulting me, on the grounds that it might cause me to buy a new pair of steel toed boots. Seriously, I've had far more encounters of this type trying to cross High St on OSU campus. None ever stopped or turned around... what, heard a noise, must have hit a pedestrian, oops, better keep on going... Blind lane changers are so common that you might as well get used to it and learn to work through traffic like that. What scares the sheet out of me is people turning from the wrong lane....

I managed to skid both front and rear on the freeway two weeks ago. Both at the same time. Interesting experience. It happens, just go with it. Work both brakes fast to stay upright. Keep the front wheel turning is good.

If I wouldn't get evicted for doing it, I would. I have before. And the living room is so much better than parking in the kitchen. It's always in the way there... I need to buy a house and move... Of course, the other alternative is to disassemble it every Winter and take all the parts to the basement for a fun Winter hobby.

My experience is that your butt will wear it off over time. To speed up the removal, try a gentle grease cutter, like diluted Simple Green. Or even Dawn or Ivory dish soap. I'm pretty sure diluted methylated spirits (denatured alcohol) will remove a lot of it. Methylated spirits is just ethanol (ethyl alcohol) the type we drink, only mixed so we can't drink it. I use a mix of 50% distilled water and 50% of an off-the-shelf 70% ethyl alcohol. Dilute it even more, if necessary. I use it to clean all sorts of things at work. A good grease and dirt cutter, it removes fingerprints and age from computers and LCD screens. I buy it at Walgreens. Please don't get the wintergreen mint smelly stuff. From what I see on line, Armor All is believed cause the vinyl to crack way too soon. Get some Corbin Saddle Cream. http://www.corbin.com/care2.shtml http://www.corbin.com/accessories/conditioner.shtml Note: a 50%-50% mix of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water is preferred for cleaning LCD screens. Note #2: Most windshield and faceshield manufacturers don't like alcohols used on the plastic. There is a chance of the coatings being removed. (But camera lenses that have coatings, are cleaned with... alcohol...) edit: oh yeah, and use those micro fiber rags, they rock. Cheap at Dollar Stores.

Having worked in mil-spec weapon development, I will say very very cool. You will have much fun. I could probably find something down there also. Maybe I should be looking again. I'm wondering if you're headed toward that "place in southern Georgia that doesn't exist". Extra coolness for that one.
