  1. Picked up an ILBE assault pack (that's the small one) at Dale's yesterday. No internal frame. Pouch and opening for 3 liter hydration system (not included). ACU woodland camo. $35. Marine Corp gen II, I think. Good size for a weekend out. He's got a stack of them, dunno how many total. I think it's got enough strap surface to tie down a tent and sleeping bag ok. Made by Arc'Teryx. Now looking for either Molle or ILBE pouches of various sizes. (And load straps of various lengths.) ILBE radio bags are everywhere in surplus right now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improved_Load_Bearing_Equipment http://www.ilbepack.com/ edit: Gen 1 has the black buckles and straps. Gen 2 has the coyote/khaki buckles and straps. I grabbed the only gen 1 I saw. It was closer to mint condition. But there might be more. Be sure to check all zippers for function. Missing buckles are easily replaced. I'll be ordering some black ones. edit: The ILBE assault pack can hold 1500 cubic inches of gear internally with a load capacity of up to 40 pounds. The ILBE does not incorporate well with the modular tactical vest. edit: Needed two buckles, black. Found out the hard way that Army kit buckles aren't the same as the Marine kit buckles. They still work if you replace both halves, but the two types won't buckle together.
  2. The basic principle of militia did require mandatory adherence by all males of the required age. Including supplying your own firearm and ammunition. Unfortunately, nothing was ever set to penalize those that did not wish to comply. And only one third to two thirds ever did. This appears to try and remedy that. I would guess that deep searching of colonial news of the era, would have discussion on the very subject. edit: Interesting history article of colonial militia tactics. A modern difference would be large numbers of regular military among civilians. Of Rocks, Trees, Rifles, and Militia - Thoughts on Eighteenth-Century Military Tactics edit: weird factoid: The headquarters for a colonial militia was the local town beer tavern. A militia really wouldn't show up to drill and train, unless given free beer for showing up. It became a social event, and the entire family joined in.
  3. Most of the bills have dropped from 6% chance to 3% chance. Most of the text of the bills is available to read now. Nothing really new except the two bills to repeal "school safety zones".
  4. Check this out. A murder map for Washington D.C., from the Washington Post. 2,294 homicides, you'd think the people living and working there would want to do something about that. Oh wait.... never mind....
  5. HAha. We've got warm temps, and California is freezing... Californians braces for freezing temps, snow
  6. 14 inch Bridgestone G511 scooter tires? If it's a bike rim. Bridgestone/Firestone B381 P185/70R14. If it's a car rim.
  7. I doubt they can audit something that isn't theirs. If it's not on the list of jurisdictions, then they made a mistake. That doesn't mean they can't screw things up further, making life miserable. Try to straighten it out with a phone call. The somewhat logical guess, is that they DO have a tax return for you, and it's a fake filed by a thief. Worth checking out.
  8. Sounds like an accidental discharge of firearm. Safety first, always.
  9. Amazon.com search for left hand ruger lcr holster 82 results I like Fobus paddles and plain simple in pocket holsters. You can also use a right handed "in pants" clipped on the left "outside pants". http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dsporting&field-keywords=left+hand+ruger+lcr+holster&rh=n%3A3375251%2Ck%3Aleft+hand+ruger+lcr+holster

    AWB Petition

I can fix anything. Go directly to where the majority of violence in America is located. Those areas are well known. Throw money and power at the situation until it goes away. Do not back off till it's done by whatever means necessary. Violence across the nation everywhere will drop immediately. This will be cheaper and quicker than anything else attempted.
  11. Hardly one word about two students that bullied another into taking this action. Hardly one word about this student choosing this as his reaction to bullying.
  12. For parts, more or less. With extra engine. It loos like it's at the Rice Paddy near OSU campus. Honda VF500F Interceptor with extra parts - $475 (OSU Campus) http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcd/3538725446.html Don't see these very often: pacific coast 1995 - $1800 (westerville) http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3480329789.html Holy crap: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3478151640.html

I used that one on computer and Android phone. It worked really well. I wanted to balance out what I was eating. And drop the levels of sodium, etc. Basically learn how to do that again; eat correctly and not try to overeat. I used it for quite a while.
  14. There's a bunch of states either passed or considering Firearm Freedom Acts. It started in 2010. Mostly it's for show, to appease pro gun voters. Although one or two states did write in criminal penalties for federal attempts. Feds already gave a statement to one state that it isn't happening. In this case it's the thoughts that count.

    Trapped whales

Correct. It only let them out into a much larger area that is still isolated by vast amounts of ice. Or so they say. The media never lies, but has a profound imagination.

I went from 180 to 170! Yeah ok, most of that was probably taking my boots off. I don't gain weight. But I could drop 10. Makes the bike go faster.

    Trapped whales

The wind shifted the ice away from shore, and they all got free.
  18. Any Wolverine DuroShock SR, for urban use, which are slip resistant. That way I can walk on ice without falling down too much. Serious grip on those puppies.

    bifocals

Agreed with above. Polycarbonate and no polarized. No blue lenses either, it makes red lights dark and you can't see them.

ha, some people wind up far sighted at age 30.
  21. urm, nothing found on any changes to walmarts ammunition practices. Only thing done was to take some of the rifles off the web store, maybe off the shelves in some areas.
  22. It applies to health care and insurance etc. quote pulled from the amendment. It was a bit hard to find, since it was an amendment to unrelated amendment SA 2786.http://maplight.org/us-congress/bill/111-hr-3590/422122/amendment/17163/nojs
  23. I was on a team in SunRayce97. Cal State won. MIT came in second, they normally win. Everyone used special high pressure low rolling resistance tires, or similar. You will need spares, quite a few spares. We used tiny high tech go cart disc brakes. The technology changes rapidly, what worked in the last race probably won't be a winner in the next race. edit: Actually, University of Michigan wins a lot. A little help from the auto industry. I should point out that SunRayce was solar. But the low rolling resistance tires were crucial. Had to have them. If you work the rolling resistance calculations, you'll see the effect it has.

    bifocals

I refuse to get bifocals, mostly because of contact lenses. But the result is extremely good far vision, and I cannot read the gauges at all. Choose wisely. edit: Never thought of bifocal sunglasses, I might try to find some cheap ones and try that out.
