Duct = not cheap BUT there's a great guy on here who does all this minus Geo, Grapesmuggler can do everything else though but I don't think they do Geo. I think dad said the newest unit was about 7,500. Originally with everything they dropped about 25,000 but like I said, they paid extra for vertical, and on top of that it was the newest fad out for new homes. If we had land and were able we'd 100% do it when the time came, but now with being where we are, have to check local codes blahblah, hate it. Blah blah.

Go with Geothermal, not kidding. if you can swing the upfront cost, it will pay for itself, unlike a lot of the other stuff that supposedly does, this does. Parent's were the first house in Richland county with it and within 12 years dad had it paid for in energy savings. The first unit lasted about 17 years, and that was because when they had it done, no one had any idea how long they lasted, now they know. He got it replaced with an even more high efficiency one that will last until long after he's gone, and he said it will take probably 5 years to recoup the cost. So he has about 2-3 more years until it's already covered the cost, plus he reused the previous lines so no cost there. They also had to invest nearly 2X as they had to dig their lines vertical due to trees not horizontal which is much cheaper. So guessing it would have taken even less time than the 12 years to recoup if that wasn't the case. Honestly man, I would call and get some quotes if you're planning to be in there a long time, which I know you are. I know when our HVAC goes, I will be calling to see if it's possible where we live or not. Guessing it wouldn't get approved by the building inspector or what not, but I will definitely try.

2007 Kawasaki ZX6R Race/Track Bike- $4600 OBO
madcat6183 replied to Hollywood33's topic in LBTS GLWS
Wow, I'm floored as this is something I'd never expect, but kudos to you for seeing that $ for school trumps racing. Plenty of other fish in the pond when it comes time to get back in the game. And yeah, this bike is legit. Price is inline as well, good deal.- 53 replies

Who's gonna tint my Sprinter windows and how much is it gonna cost me?
madcat6183 replied to Moto-Brian's topic in Dumpster
I also talked to him, he was actually cheaper than Tint Dude to do my TH, but much further away, and guessing I'd have to pay fuel or take it to him. Tintdude is; http://www.ttdohio.com/home.html You HAVE to email him on his site to have him call you, but he's seriously fast as crap and does good work. -

I always have TheTintDude do mine. Cheap, will do whatever shade you want, and legit priced. I've had 3 vehicles done by him and going to most likely have him do the new toy hauler. He quoted me 350.00 for 8-9 toy hauler windows, and several of those are split windows meaning more like 5 big 1 panel windows and 6 smaller windows that open or slide. -
The way to cook it is as follows; Make the wife do it. That's one of two things Amanda can cook. Other than that I do it all.

Be careful around the wire barriers dividing our highways
madcat6183 replied to Casper's topic in Dumpster
Don't disagree with this, but there were/are studies done showing them to be safer all around. Now what was tested vs what really happens, well that's like saying that because my F250 has a lower safety rating than a smart car makes sense. Sorry but in 99% of any NORMAL driving accidents my truck will be safer, but still has a lower safety rating. -
I agree with this 100% for the record.

Now now, no name calling. Just debating. Also FWIW, if I saw someone walking around with that BB gun, or doing anything with it in a Walmart you better believe I am dialing 911 too, and probably willing to draw if it looked like he was pointing it at someone. That BB gun looks very much like a real rifle, and that BB gun could inflict death I am sure to a child or baby, probably even an adult. On top of that, why was he messing with it out of the package anyways, they aren't just on shelves to play with.

Your guys replies were more along the lines of what I was thinking vs what I felt the article was implying.

madcat6183 replied to Casper's topic in Dumpster
Supposedly they are safer, there were test out there once and video's showing the differences. I don't care enough to try to find them, but I remember when they were out. At the same time, I always wondered about stuff on a bike with these as figured something like this may happen. FWIW, they were being compared to the metal guardrails with the timber posts, NOT solid cement, just to add on to what I said. I would think solid concrete would be much safer but at a crazy high cost. -
The whole situation is so Fing stupid and I am so Fing tired of all the BS surrounding events like this. Here's an idea, let's destroy our city and where we live because we are mad, cuz that makes sense. People now a days are so stupid it's amazing.

Just a little tidbit of info, make sure the PF9 shoots and cycles fine. I traded for one on FB, got it, and it was a paperweight. Tried fixing the mags, polishing the feedramp, wouldn't feed right. Ended up being nothing more than a paperweight. This was also a first gen as I ran the serial num off their site and it was before all the improvements. Other than that, yes, no brainer.

Guess he had 3 movies already done just waiting on release, and they will be released.

Agreed totally. However that McDs lady won is still beyond me, but whatever. FWIW I wasn't trying to insult anyone on OR, the other forums I frequent and the news stations and even ESPN are driving me nuts though with lack of knowledge. The dirt track community is a pretty tight knit, small community, and there's just a ton of bad info out there. In the end, it sucks for everyone. -

madcat6183 replied to MidgetTodd's topic in Pics and Vids
I m on the dirt racing forums a lot more than OR anymore, but can't even post about this event there because it's so full of BS and just stupid comments. Anyways a lot of the guys here know I sold off my bike to get back to the dirt track races more frequently and help our driver out more than I had been. With that said this post is pretty accurate, and honestly, unless you've been around dirt cars, sprints, late models, and even Emods with big blocks, you really don't have much to go on regarding how they operate compared to a normal car, bike, or whatever. They are totally different, steering is totally different and done anywhere from 60-80% by the throttle, they don't have multi gear boxes, they are direct drive, low and high only, they don't run "normal" tires the right rear is always staggered vs the left rear and usually wider to make a larger contact patch with the track, the list goes on. On top of that, the track changes, often. 1 lap the track may be tacky in an area, the next lap it may be dry slick, hard to tell until you get there. Lighting at these places obviously sucks as they aren't nascar tracks or anything like them, granted you can easily see dude from the stands, that doesn't mean you can inside the car. HANS, the fact that the wing goes down almost below drivers eye line on the right side of the car, all play into it. I've met Tony a lot of times, we've raced him when he was running late models at Eldora, I've drank beer with him at the Miss. Eldora contest, I've been going to his track for 10 years now, and know that he would never "use the car as a weapon" and hit someone intentionally. I also know 100% that he won't just sit back and have someone point fingers at him and come at him. I along with several people who know him better than I do, who I've talked to know he goosed the engine to dust Ward off, keep him in "check" if you will. LM, Sprinters, Emods, all do it anytime someone goes after them on the track, usually this doesn't happen, but I have seen people hit with the rear quarter of a late model, difference is the tire is covered by the sheet metal at that speed, obviously not in a Sprinter. Unfortunately for Tony, it ended all wrong and isn't going to be done and over with anytime soon. Sure we all sign the waivers blah blah, but that means very little this day and age, as the Midget brought up about the McD's coffee lady winning her mil or whatever. I feel awful for the Ward family but we also are told in EVERY drivers meeting to never leave your car unless you're on fire or the car is melting for some other reason, or covered in fuel. That's about the only reasons to get out, and unfortunately for Ward Jr. he decided to take his fate in his own hands when he did. Now Tony shouldn't have tried to dust him off, but they all do that in every level of racing. Really a terrible situation, and I am guessing a lot of dirt tracks will be looking into their policies a little more about this from here out. -
I hear you Murse, I know the feeling all around. I heard my old bike was at Nelson last weekend and looking good and it made me sad for sure. With that said, I definitely understand where you are coming from with life. It doesn't help being 3 hrs from the closest track either and having to make decisions on where $$ goes. Just wait til you get the wifey knocked up, then things really change lol. Luckily Amanda understands that there are weekends that I am needed for big late model races and knows that me being gone is what it is with Luke at home with her. Luckily he'll be old enough next year he can go with us and they can do whatever they want all day while we're working on the car and then watch some racing at night and head back to the trailer early while we finish up in the pits. GLWS, I definitely feel for ya on having to make the decision.

Dang another quitter. I think I started a trend. If Jinu jumps on board that's a bad sign for the world ending.
