  1. You should bring your dad the next time we go riding that Super Blackbird would love to see these roads. I had a CBR1100XX several years ago and really like those bikes. I understand just visiting Tennessee I used to take my bike down there for visits before I lived down there for a while. This was before the internet and I didn't know about Deal Gap at the time. I only lived about an hour and a half from it. My pants dried you quickly after it stopped raining how long did it take for yours to dry out? When the roads got dry and we could ride I forgot all about them being wet at all. I guess you had a good time even without rain gear.
  2. You did a great job keeping up I am impressed with your riding skills with this being your first street bike and having no dirt bike experience. I don't know why you didn't wreck though because some people seem to think if two or more people get together and ride someone has to go down. I like to ride quickly on these back roads but never out of control when it was wet or damp we kept the pace slow and never had to wait for anyone, I don’t know why some would think we would have ridden otherwise especially after they have ridden with me before. 536 is relentless with curves but how did you like 255? You don't need to go all the way to Tennessee to find good roads. If you want to go out exploring on your own just ask me or Tony and we can give you some other roads that you might find just as much fun as yesterdays.
  3. Other than mini bikes I learned to ride a motorcycle with gears on a trials bike. I was friends with a boy whose family traveled all over to events and I tagged along. There were 6 kids, four boys and everyone had a trials bike. I even rode one in a hair scramble once but had to remove the front fender because all the mud kept locking up the front tire. It's been well over 30 years since I've touched one though and they look quite a bit different now.
  4. Made it home safe just needed a nap. 427 miles, moving 7:44 with average moving speed of 55.1, total trip time of 9:33 with an overall average speed of 44.6 Doomking meet Tpoppa and me at the CircleK with the roads somewhat damp and intermittent drizzle. We decided to give it a go with the hopes that the rain had already passed through. Wrong, it came down pretty good once we got close to Millersburg. Doomking turned around just about 500 feet before we made it to the Speedway on the south side of Millersburg to meet Big Speazy. Tony filled in the rest of the ride report as accurate as necessary. Big Speazy did a good job keeping up and I thought it was cool of him to decide to head out in the rain with us. I hope he is glad he decided to go on with us to discover some new roads he hadn't been on before. We kept to the original route I had planned for Big Speazys sake. Tony and I have both been on 536 and while it's challenging it’s not my most favorite road. We probably would have taken a different route if it would have been just the two of us but I'm glad we went across 26. I haven't been on that road for a couple of years and it's in much better shape. We did get to do 255 and I love that road, it’s not as clean as it was when it was first paved but its still fun. Fuck you non hacking Nancys who couldn't get wet. The road is boring to Millersburg anyway and we only missed about a half hour of the good roads at a hard pace. We missed another half hour to 45 minutes where we weren't sure what pace to set because of damp spots. I made it home by 6:00 with my bike a little dirty but had a good day riding. You guys are dead to me in this thread you bunch of posers.
  5. We'll see what the weakest link say's with a phone call at 8:00 Am, plus we know where he lives if necessary.
  6. Glad to have you along Tony. It might rain on us sometime tomorrow. I will still be going expecting it not to be raining all over the state. I understand others not wanting to though. Pat, you got them forks done yet or are you riding the Duc Udell, I know you have your tire replaced and your fancy GPS all mounted no excuses. Is your GPS a Garmin? Can you download maps to it? I can send you the mapsource file of the route. Justin, am I calling you early in the morning to make sure you get up in time? Our first gas stop will be at the Speedway in Millersburg to pick up Big Speazy. The baby doesn't wear a helmet but it does wear eye protection. I think I can put a helmet on both sides of the bike. Riding by myself would that make me extra cool?
  7. 99% will be wearing proper gear, maybe 100% but that's up to him. Fast is a relative thing some may find the pace too slow and some too fast. Come out and ride with us and if it's too slow the route is simple enough that anyone can lead just wait for the group at the intersections and turn offs.
  8. Lance (Wheezle, Ol' Springer, etc) Schleprock Nice talking to you Lance, call if you need anything.
  9. Before you go to Lorain you might want to call their Grafton store to see what they have there. The store is right on 82 so it would be easy to get to from Strongsville. If you buy from that store you still get a half hour of range time at their Lorain location. I am currently carrying a Kahr PM9 with the diamond black finish. I like carrying it better than the Sig232 but it might be because I finally found a holster that I like.
  10. Yes, the Speedway south of town next to McDonalds works out well.
  11. That car is there just about every Sunday. It does sound nice. It can't do a burnout when leaving like most of the cars do because it hooks up too well I'm guessing because I've never seen him do it.
  12. I think you're trying to make my head explode switching around all the controls. You guys are going to have big fun making fun of me.
  13. Nice meeting you guys, strange we have mutual friends and meeting you guys all at the same time. Have fun while you're in town. Kosmo didn't eat any atomic wings? Justin went home all sweaty from volleyball for poontang, gross.
  14. Must remember that a motorcycle has a rear brake. I never touch the rear brake on my street bike; my track bike's rear brake didn't even work most of last year. The last time I rode off road I kept falling down going boom because of this habit. No one will be taking video will they? I can see how riding with your two Harley buddies will be more fun.
  15. Well I've owned a Gixxer and never ridden a Duc plus I would really like to help them out because I'm caring and thoughtful like that.
  16. That's what I was thinking. Good luck being done by Sunday. I do think he has a back up plan hatched. The 1098 should be available because his dad has to work Sunday. If that doesn't work I can let him use my bike and ride the Duc, you know to keep the kid off of it.
  17. The first thing I do is let some air out of the tires, then I adjust the levers and shifter to fit me.
  18. Good that means you will have it mounted by the end of business Saturday ready to ride Sunday without any excuses.
  19. I'm sure he does. Did you get a tire yet? I don't want to hear any excuses from you now that you have given Kevin shit.
  20. Kevin, can I borrow your bike Sunday, I'm tired of Jinx going around me on the big sweepers. Maybe riding a 1k will help. I can let you have the 600 for the day, complete with action figure. (Good one Justin.)
  21. Pat I just spoke to KTMRIDER and his brother might have one I will check with him later. He suggested that if you haven't done so already loosen your top clamp bolts first this might relieve some pressure so you might be able to use the wrench you used on the other side.
  22. Work sucks doesn't it. Unless you don't have any. I went across the yellow too on that turn. http://ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=28843
  23. No I mean about the "races" that are said to happen Saturday nights. Greg works at Kennedy's and is going to be on the ride Sunday.
  24. If you show up Sunday you can talk to Greg (Jinx) and me about them.
  25. That's tempting but I was hoping not to spend more than $6,000 plus it would be a shame to crush my SS Monte Carlo. I don't have to worry about plates for the TB until July 2010. I'll come up with something by then.
