  1. Are you seriously getting rid of your R1 already? I rode the new one today and you are right it sure does roast your nuts. What are you looking for from Suzuki that you haven't had already?

Everyone who rode the VMax today was impressed with it but surprisingly the FJR1300AE (Electric shift model.) had rave reviews from people who rode it that really weren't considering one but rode it because the bike they wanted to ride was taken for the next time slot.

  2. 555 used to be my favorite road; you should get to 255 if you have the chance. 255 is less than half as long but it is currently in great shape. I usually take 666 around Zanesville to avoid some of the traffic plus it's an okay road.

Dampers are funny some bikes need them some don't. My track bike is a 2005 CBR600RR, I have been on four tracks with it without a damper and have not needed one or felt like I wanted one for it. My street bike is a 2003 ZX6RR and I couldn't ride it without one. So much for the Kawasaki theory.

  3. Yamaha demo rides at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They have the entire V Star line up (Except the 250) including the new VMax. They also have a FJR1300AE, R1, R6, FZ1 and the new entry level FZ6R. They will be in front of the Rock hall Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00. You can sign up to ride any bike, first ride goes out at 10:30 and last ride goes out at 5:30. Motorcycle endorsement required (No temps.), long pants, no sandals and D.O.T. helmet.

They rain really but a damper on things today in fact a few people rode four bikes today. After things cleared up it got kind of busy and I would expect tomorrow to be busy. First come first served so if you want to ride the R1 or the VMax get there early. Free parking and discount tickets to the Rock hall of fame.

  4. Thanks for getting this thread back on track. It has been gayed up, made totally random with shopping carts, beer has been mentioned, RN's, teachers, Biblical references and for a bonus we have punting puppies. Mission accomplished.

Yamaha demo rides (Sport bikes included.) at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Saturday and Sunday. Stop by and say hi, I'll be there Saturday from 10:00 to 2:00

  5. 90% of that can be answered if you give us the make, model, year, and price of the bike. Because some bikes/years have known problems and trouble spots.

And, while it may give you piece of mind to have someone go with you, short of taking the bike apart, there's not much anyone could tell you. I'd hate for someone to look it over with you and tell you it's OK, then you get it and something go wrong... buying used is never 100%, but 99/100 you're fine.

You need to spend more time grilling the seller to see what type of person they are, how much they know about the bike, and gauge if they're the type of person to dick someone over or not. I get a better read off the seller than I do the actual bike. You just need to come in with knowledge of the bike, ask the right questions, and if the sellers knowledgeable, then they should be able to competently answer those questions.

WTF!!! A serious reply in this thread, you retard, how about gaying it up or sum such other nonsense. We need entertainment not real replies. If she wants to be serious have her start another thread.

  6. Yes, it was just the two of us. We both posted a ride report here. http://www.ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=29739&page=3 I would ride with him again anytime I know anything can happen but you just know he is riding within his abilities and will be making it home. It's nice to not worry if someone is going to go down that far from home. The roads up here are boring so the only way to get really good riding in is to venture out.

Actually, it was more than half way up 255 about 12 miles. I don't think the wait was over 2 minutes.

  7. After riding with Tpoppa Friday I was so impressed with the Buell I went to see if there had been any talk about them on here. Tpoppa rides the shit out of his so much so that I was thoroughly impressed with him and his bike. I really didn't expect much out of the Buell and boy was I wrong. He has also put one over 30k miles, another feat few achieve with any make of bike.

I'm sorry I missed this thread before we rode together so I could have saved myself the embarrassment of post #65. Exactly how long were you checking your watch waiting for me halfway up 255? After you removed your gloves, helmet, ear plugs, and jacket then went to find a nice shady spot to wait?

  8. I won't need it for a while since I just replaced the tires last weekend. I have another front stand if I need one anyway. I'll check where it is when I get a chance, it's at home or in Grafton. When do you want it?

  9. I have one you can use but I only have two pins for it. I have one for a 03/04 ZX6R and one for a 05/06 CBR600RR. These pins might cross over to fit what you are using them for, just check pit bulls website. I know the ZX6R pin fits a ZX12R so if you are working on your Honda my other pin might work.

  10. Okay after eating and taking a nap I'm back. Great ride, nice riding with you Tony, I now know of a few more good roads. I haven't ventured into West Virginia yet until today. 250 (In WV.) is a nice road, some of it is rough but what isn't is fun; I would have loved to ride it a few years ago when it was all new. 7 in WV is crazy fast and it made me wish I had a 1000. Big clean sweepers with plenty of line of site, I have been close to this road several times this year and wish I knew about it before today. I covered 416 miles today; average moving speed was 55 MPH with 7:33 of moving, total trip time was 9:37 with an overall average speed of 43 MPH. We didn't sit around for two hours but I didn't know how long it would take me to get to Bolivar with the roads being wet so I left early and it didn't take me as long as I thought it might so I was at the DQ for 45 minutes.

Tony is an excellent rider for someone who hasn't had any track time. I certainly couldn't ride as well as he does without having track time. I might have to change my mind about Buells also, I have not ridden with anyone riding one until today and I was impressed. I don't know if Tony arranged his route to include 255 because of some of the last few posts I have made about liking it but I sure do appreciate having the chance to ride it again today. He even let me lead on 255 and 800, thanks for letting me have some fun on roads I knew or at least had been on before.

Good day, no tickets, wrecks, break downs or close calls, we pounded out some miles and made it home safe, you can't beat that.

    Semper Fi, brother.

  11. I seem to remember seeing somewhere that you plan gas stops at around 120 miles. That would be fine if riding the highway with plenty of gas stations because I run out of gas at 130 miles. Riding a brisk pace and being on back roads with gas stations farther apart I would need to look for gas at about 90 to 100 miles. I only mention this because some people have a 200 mile tank range and it's a pain in the ass to stop for people as often as I need to. I won't be offended if you would rather not stop this often, just tell me to fuck off and stay away.

  12. I'm about 80% on making this ride right now. Are you starting from Bolivar or riding to it? I would be riding about 71 miles from Elyria to Strasburg and then about 7 miles to Bolivar where would you be starting from?

I took all the bags off of my bike this weekend and my parents are taking me out for my birthday Thursday night. I need to but my bags back on and don't know how late we are going to be out Thursday. I will need to be leaving about 7:30 AM Friday morning to make your meeting place and time. This is why I'm only 80%. If I get my bags back on Thursday morning and I make it home by 11:00 PM from dinner I'll be ready to go.

How deep into WV will you be going? I would like to put WV maps into my GPS. If a brisk pace excludes cruisers does it exclude 600s?

  13. I got on it from 250 just outside of Strasburg just south of Beach City. I was just looking for a way to avoid the detours on 83. That didn't work out too well because I hit two detours before I made it to 76, by then I was done trying not to slab it home. I didn't want to take a chance with there being more detours so I jumped on 76.
