  1. Tpoppa, I would have made your ride earlier this week if I have had tires. I ordered them two weeks ago but that's what I get for ordering them from a friend giving me a "deal". No worries, I don't blame you after doing two big weekends in a row I needed a break also. Curby, I will sometimes run the metro parks, it's 30 to 35 MPH posted, few legal passing zones, sometimes crowded and patrolled moderately. It's a nice ride for northern Ohio and if you have the opportunity you should try it. I have not seen any helicopter patrols but the tree canopy is thick so I might have missed them. If you’re on a cruiser it's a great ride, you should get JRMMiii to show you how to do it like a squid and poser, big fun. Baby on board with SAM, look out coppers you don't stand a chance. I aint skeerd and I aint runnin.
  2. Weather looks good for Saturday but who knows for sure, Sunday is iffy. That's okay if you don't make it, isn't there a squids and posers ride for you to get into anyway?
  3. My Saturday has been freed up so I thought I might make a trip down south. I put on new tires last night and adjusted my chain. I am going to change my oil today and should be ready to go Saturday morning. Route I am currently planning is 367 miles long. Starting at the intersection of 83 & 82, taking 83 to 78, 78 to 536, 536 to 7, 7 to 255, 255 to 800, 800 to 250, 250 to 83, and 83 to 82. From the end of 800 the ride home will be boring. I am planning to leave at 10:00 AM gassed up and ready to go. Who wants to join in? Warning: We will be going through the Coshocton area, running from helicopters is not part of the planned ride but is optional for others participating.

  5. Nothing yet, I'm going to a mandatory retraining workshop Tuesday. It should be interesting.

  6. And now the phrase "Dick measuring contest" has been ruined for me.
  7. Here I is Avenger as a Starboy wannabe
  8. Me is being very quiet, don't poke the Avenger!
  9. I could be wrong about this but I have heard that State Farm only covers $200 for gear when you have an accident if doesn't matter how expensive your helmet is. This I know for a sure, State Farm does not offer medical coverage with their motorcycle policies. This is one of the reasons they are one of the cheapest companies when pricing motorcycle insurance.
  10. Avenger the other octogenarian meat.
  11. Hey wait a minute I never said squid one was doing squid two, but if you hear it on the internet if might be true. They can walk to each others house. I think it's mean for you guys to start such a rumor. My mother is on her third old lady car, the first two were even the same color. Sucks for the kid in the Cavalier, just gets it back and BAM old lady nails him checking out no helmet squid.
  12. Correct we have two separate squids here wheelie boy and look at me no helmet boy. I agree, old people suck no one over 62 should be able to drive, yea that's the ticket says the man in much need of a thread high jack.
  13. You guys just don't understand. Avenger and I have been regifting the same birthday rock for the past 15 years or so. We both know the consequences of fucking with each other. I can see it all playing out now possibly ending up with naked baby pictures of Avenger in the sink getting a bath.
  14. You are correct about other posts covering this same subject. I thought I would start one specifically about 536 instead of a thread about the aftermath. I’m just trying to be proactive with a thread that can be bumped to the front page instead of an old ride report. I know the post is kind of an old ride report but it's meant to be anecdotal to show how easy it is to get complacent.
  15. It's a damn shame we have a moderator witnessing this thread and he won't do anything about it except shit stirring. I need help from a higher authority. Nothing to see here, move along.
  16. I'm disappointed, I thought there were rules around here that the original poster was NOT allowed to be owned in their own thread. If that rule doesn't exist well it should.
  17. utoh, I might be in trouble here. Nevermind, can we get this thread closed? At least by the time Avenger gets home from work. Nothing to see here, move along.
  18. I am currently being blackmailed into not disclosing squidly picture for fear of a more squidly picture of me being posted. The stupid thing is I can't tell if it's a bluff or not but you never know.....

    Today

Finally some talent in this thread.
  20. Since posting this I have received photographic proof of the squidlyness of second squid. Now I have to text him to let him know he has been called out.
  21. 536 is a serious road that can and will bite you. We had eight guys in a group and two went down on 536 both of them in the same corner. This curve will take people out so hopefully we can prevent as many people as possible from getting bitten by it. I can say that I haven't crossed a yellow line in years until riding this road. In my mind that's the same as a crash, it was stupid and I am beating myself up over it. I not only put myself in danger but if someone had been coming the other way I could have harmed them from my own stupidity. I didn't go down only because I didn't give up but I wasn't in control enough to stay in my lane. We rode across 78 to get there which is a nice road but it kind of lulled us into high speed mode. We get to 536 and start down it heading toward the river. Whoa, this is a fun road, we all stop at the stop sign, the group is now all together and we make the turn to the right up the hill. I am riding in the second spot at this time, as we come up hill to a marked 15 MPH right hand turn, it shouldn’t be a big deal but not so fast, this stupid thing is a decreasing radius turn compounded by the fact it starts to go down hill as it gets tighter so you lose your braking as the road falls out from under you. First guy touches the yellow line on exit, I cross it completely and the third guy low sides on the road, slides across it and ends up in the hay field. The first guy and I check up, I stop and the fourth guy gets up to me and asks if I am alright, why are you stopping? He never saw the third guy go down in front of him. While we are having this interaction around comes the fifth guy and the six guy stands his bike up and rides down into the hay field. Not one rider following the guys that went off knew what had happened. If you look at the pictures you will see there is not too much distance from the stop sign to this curve but this road is so curvy it had separated us by then. No real damage to either bike or riders, they rode them out of the field and on to the road for us all to continue on for the rest of our day. Please be careful out there. I am sure and I hope others will add their advice to this about their experience with this road. Overhead view from stop sign to curve Overhead view of just curve. Road view approaching curve. Road view looking at exit of curve.
  22. When the other squid shows up he will call me out but it won't be from riding the green bike.
  23. Names were not mentioned Justin. If you hadn't called yourself out it might not have happened until the other squid saw this thread. That's only because you called him out to me. I did talk to him tonight and he filled me in on the rest of the almost accident information. I can't believe the two local guys I know on here are both SQUIDS. Are you guys going on the squids and posers ride? You will NOT find me riding the green bike without gear on. If I had been working I never would have seen you so this is more proof that unemployment is ruining everything.
