  1. I think if he hadn't flaunted the fact that he was a cop immediately after being pulled over, a lot of us would be more sympathetic. or if the officer that pulled him over had just ignored the remark about being an officer. OR if this was done on a back road. i think everyone on here is smart enough NOT to try and max out the speedometer on an interstate.
  2. 12ish, yeah. i think it was just cause they werent finding the driver at fault. my mom was furious though cause the guy had the stones to call and ask us to pay for the broken side view mirror.
  3. Just as an aside to consider: i drive a truck for Scotts and they have a policy of 6 points on your license gets you fired. I think the 147+ speeding and reckless op would not just be fines and suspension but I would lose my job too.
  4. i get the whole few of them are like this, but it makes me nervous as hell when i have dealt with them. all have ended up decent enough, but it just makes me wonder what can happen...
  5. my little brother got hit in our neighborhood in a similar scenario when he was about 12. rolled up the hood and off the side of the car. pissed his pants and got cited for jaywalking, which the judge obviously dismissed. good looking out though man. i drive a E-350 van that has upwards of 3000 pound of liquid and solid cargo on board and i know they dont like to stop very well. i always get a bit nervous whenever kids on bikes or throwing balls are around cause they are oblivious.
  6. I think it would be awesome if we had an OR secretly-sponsored meeting there where everyone who got a reckless op for speeding had a sign with their speed vs. posted speed on it. sad part is, i'm torn between not wanting a fellow biker to get a ticket and wanting to make sure ppl arent getting special treatment.
  7. that's actually not a bad idea... but hey! at least california is progressive and letting illegals do cheap labor and saving the environment.
  8. cheney has always been the fuckin creep evil bastard, scary shit.
  9. finally i can honestly say i'm paying for something that is probably bullshit. work in gahanna = pay local taxes there so I can legitimately bitch about this.
  10. for what it's worth, i dont think ANYONE expects cops to write themselves tickets everytime they break that law. otherwise they'd lose their license every time they read a billboard on the highway and accidentally went 68 in a 65.
  11. defense lawyer on the news just said if they're not charged with reckless op it gives defense lawyers a great precedent to argue against lesser speeding being charged as reckless op. afterall, if 80 over the limit isnt reckless, surely 40 over the limit cant be.
  12. Like someone said earlier: you'd have ticket and a bike impound in 10 minutes. Not a handshake, ride away, and a ticket a week later. we should just all join the CPD.
  13. How has this not been posted yet??? Apparently a Gahanna officer was caught off duty doing like 140 miles per hour. Gotta say I'm proud and hopefully Gahanna police will be more lenient with speeding when i ride my bike to work.
  14. did you check out the ODNR ranges list?
  15. deal him down a bit. the r6s (or any 2nd gen r6) are fucking sweet. been on gsxrs and hondas of similar years and they felt anemic and boring
  16. used to get this ALL the time. Almost never now, the two things that helped me: 1- Loosen your grip on the throttle, just stay lightly on it with the glove, hell the friction between the gloves and the throttle with your hand completely open is usually enough to maintain constant throttle 2- rest your pinky and ring fingers on top of the front brake lever. not sure why this works for me, probably by loosening the grip and seems to allow better bloodflow into the hand $.02
  17. Michael Jackson's last words: "Take me to the Children's hospital."
  18. You should come out with me to Deer Creek sometime if that's anywhere near you. I need someone who can use a hand thrower for clays as my girlfriend is struggling a bit. If you don't have a super nova, you should. It's amazing. Sights line up perfectly naturally for me and the ComforTech stock does an excellent job of reducing felt recoil. The Mossberg 500 I shot previously started to wear my shoulder after about 40 rounds. Put about 70 though the Benelli last weekend and I could have shot it all day (only stopped cause I ran out of ammo). Not to mention it seems damn accurate. Can't wait to go shooting again.
  19. did her daughter taste The Tears of Unfathomable Sadness?
  20. quick, stupid question: you cant ride a bike with a shotgun slung over your back right?
  21. a Benelli Super Nova 12ga. haven't shot it yet, but seems to shoulder well and my eyesight lines up naturally with the sights. since i wasnt gonna get to shoot it today, i went ahead and disassembled it so i could atleast play with it.. weird how solid something can feel and yet how effortlessly it comes apart.
  22. Not necessarily. I had sputting due to way overgapped plugs in my car recently and at higher rpms the sputtering resolved somewhat. Change them out and make sure you get some good, pregapped plugs.
  23. i was planning to check out Deer Creek. it's probably the closest to grove city at about 30 mins and they have a permit-free shotgun range. Just picked up my shotty today too so I might go down there this weekend.
