    Bud Light

Lol!!! Pfft is right. Do the crafties hold up their pinkies when they drink their $5-a-bottle Czech versions of Budweiser? You actually care if the euros don't like our pedestrian taste in beer? I don't. Who here as a college kid didn't get the 12-pak of Old Milwaukee instead of the sixer of Bud 'cause it only cost $1 more?

    ISIS

Interesting is that islamic state is fighting an attack and hold territory war. That's a game the U.S. and other western militaries are pretty good at.
  3. Frame sliders are the best. They may look ugly - and I have a classic looking standard they don't look the best on - but there will be a day when you are glad you put 'em on.

    Skully Helmet

You have chosen wisely, Grasshopper. Except wait until the Arai is on sale and buy more beer.
  5. Will be at Meridian tonight.
  6. Any OR persons actually here? Practice was good today - no rain while we were on site..
  7. Do you have any of the invitations left? It might look nice to have an invite in there with the engraving and then clearcoat the whole thing.
  8. Good pics. Cool that it got converted to 12V. Great learner bike.
  9. 185. That may be the very bike. It was that color and had a windscreen just like that one. We sold it to a guy for his daughter to ride I think. It was a great bike but I didn't like the 6V electrical system. It was also very cold-hearted. Bought it for $600 and sold it for $580. And, IIRC, those things sold new for just under $1k in the late 70s. Where does she sit now?
  10. My wife had a '79 Honda Twinstar and we put historicals on it. I think there is also a loophole involving "maintenance." Never checked the details, but got a piece of paper from the BMV, I think, that said something about short rides to test and maintain the bike. So there you go. You're just out for a ride because you just rebuilt the engine last year and blah, blah, blah...

    Left & Right

I think it's the Christ trolling pre-season. You can ignore this until the playoffs later in the fall.
  12. True enough. That rear wheel is a beauty. You might see some high mount kits from the aftermarket but the design of the bike looks like it'll have some nice integrated luggage coming soon. That'll cover up those partly anyway.

    Left & Right

Can we please have more than two parties of idiots? Further division may make them less harmful.
  14. Good point. Possibly correct. But wouldn't you have to ascertain that the owner of said car actually lives there? Would you be exposed during this surveillance? Interesting theoretical discussion. Could easily be wrong about all of this - but choose to be careful.
  15. Would you know where they live or any other details about the rider of the kind you can find here?
  16. This. If someone feels more comfortable, including me, then let it go at that. Normal people don't think like crooks. They hear of very clever scams that would have never occurred to them. So they're careful.Bike models are a dime a dozen and a machine and person combination could easily be replicated down to the exact helmet graphics. Put a fake plate on it and you can pull off a crime while implicating someone else.
  17. There are new, non-current 2013 FZ1s now being listed for just a tick over $7k. Deals start springing up this time of year.

    Riders Down

Glad your okay and best out to Ray. IIRC, that junction at 356 is a weird section of road and always a little dirty.
  19. No stereotyping there, right? It's all okay - parades stopped being entertaining after about the 6th grade.
  20. Maybe all this is because, as a general rule, everyone hates a habitual winner.
  21. That's okay, then. So many people use "we" and "our oil" when they haven't spent a dime directly to develop the reserves or the infrastructure. Energy is a business and the market is global. I get that it's a strategic asset as well - I'm a crass capitalist but I'm not blind. When someone in a free country gambles on a business then they should get to say where they sell their product within reasonable limits. Not fair to let companies spend trillions to develop and produce energy outputs and then restrict their ability to sell it anywhere outside the US - which is the way it's happening now.
  22. Cool. Those will be bikes like the Hawk GT and others that in 15 years people will say, "How come more people didn't buy these?" For me, it was the $. As mentioned, time solves that problem.
