I'm one of those..ATGATT people! (All the gear, all the time!) Well, at least anytime it's more then 2 miles away. Me personally? My suit and gloves, are Kevlar..then I wear a helmet and boots of course. I'd say the majority of the riders I ride with, wear helmet, perforated leather jacket, gloves, high quality over pants or draggin jeans, and boots. Some are in Mesh stuff. Every now and then, a squid will join one of the groups I'm in. Shorts, no helmet..tennis shoes..etc., you know the type. When I was younger...(aka the first 11 years I was on a bike..)I was one of those people... but now, after seeing some crashes and what can happen, they tend to make me feel uncomfortable when they are in the same group. On the streets, You'll see a lot of people wear mesh because it is typically cooler..but if you've ever seen Mesh gear, melted into the skin after a slide..you kind of start to not like Mesh stuff. If you are just learning though, you should most definitely wear everything you can, just to be safe. Not saying anything is going to happen, but the chances are definitely higher. Personally, I'd rather sweat some, then risk losing skin and needing a skin graph, or worse! Not trying to come off like i'm preaching..just trying to answer! It's your life, you can wear anything you want.

Doesn't work that way for me. On trips of any decent length..for health reasons, I have to alert people where I am going ahead of time.

If you had a maximum 10 hours (total not one way) to take a bike trip anywhere..where would it be? Super Slabing it is fine with me. Originally, I was planning a route through Hocking Hills, and then go to Moonville tunnel that I've been wanting to see..but it seems like I've been through that general area several times this year already, and haven't been out of state yet. That got me to thinking, where can I go Out of state, and be back in 10 hours? Chicago and Niagara falls are both just out of reach at roughly 5.5h one way. Sadly, the STL Arch is about 6h. The most interesting place I can think of right now, is the Nada Tunnel in Kentucky. That 4.5 from Marysville..so within reach. Anyone have any other ideas?

I couldn't have said it better myself!

This is an awesome site, filled with Lots of amazing people.

If no one offers anything for you..Might I suggest that you do your best to make the Sept. CSBA group ride, so that people would get to meet you first? I have no idea if I am going to go. My health is so..unpredictable? questionable? fragile? I dunno what the correct word is. Right now, I have pain meds that work, and if this was tomorrow..I'd be going. Just too far away for me to actually be able to make plans. Poor health sucks!

Just for you..I redid my signature to add a fb link...though I don't really use fb much at all..it sounds like you're a facebook addict lol

I haven't went camping in years. I used to like it before I got sick. If I can get sleeping bag, tent and maybe a couple other things in time, I'll try to make it!
-
That's just wrong!
-
Girl part doesn't matter...she's a fellow Marysvillian..that's all that matters!
-
I'm going to try and make this too. What is the actual starting address?
-
For those that are too lazy to click the link for the address..

Don't forget a special mention for Kosmo..who came down from Cleveland to grace us with his presence! This is a rare occurrence!

Here are a few pics from my phone from yesterdays ride. %20%20%20%20%20 This is the forecast of yesterdays ride 90min before we started. It actually waited until we were in Newark (pretty much end of the ride) before it started to rain. We only got wet on the way home, so still very enjoyable.

I wouldn't go that far! We didn't really go on the Katana killer curves this trip. I wonder if that was intentional during the original route mapping?

No worries at all man. I am truly just happy to be out there at all. Speed doesn't really matter to me. I truly just feel blessed that I am able to ride at all. Believe me, I am more then happy to stay back there and keep you company. It keeps me out of trouble, and helps me stay safe. The vast majority of the rides I go on, I tend to ride behind the slowest person. I am happy that you had fun, and it sounds like you want to ride with us again, which is Awesome! That's what it is all about! CSBA rides are awesome. Our fearless leader always makes sure no one gets left behind. I've heard some people that are kind of new to riding, say they are scared to ride with this group. Hopefully reading your testimony will change some peoples minds. No one gets left behind, and no one is made fun of for going at a slower pace. CSBA rides, (at least in my opinion..John might correct me here though) are about having Fun while still being Safe, and enjoying the company of your fellow bikers! Spread the word! Oh yeah..it's also about scaring innocent people on the sidewalks with loud exhaust revving!! Ha that was funny

Awesome trip again! I had a blast. The 4 of us from Marysville all made it home safely. Had a little rain, but nothing too bad..at least for those of us with helmets! Darn Squids!! It was great meeting some new people...Food was really good..temps weren't bad at all, and the roads were gravel free. It was a great day! Thanks to everyone that came out..and for those that didn't..I hope to see you on next months ride! I still absolutely LOVE that Airhawk seat cushion I have. It is nothing but Pure comfort! Pulled into my garage at 301 miles..but that's including a little trip to delaware, then back to marysville to pick up some people that were running late. Normal route would have been about 200. Thanks for all the planning, scheduling, and leading you do for us every month Mr. Fearless leader JCMathis. (who actually called me a Hooligan!!!)
