  1. http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/ His work is all over Detailing World forums. He has alot of nut swingers but he's good and he continually sells the top of the top jobs in the industry. He went after a market and made a name for himself and has really broken down barriers in educating people on the time and effort that really goes into some of these jobs, much like Todd did here in the states.
  2. ha...other people just as crazy as him. The one guy taking pictures (Paul Dalton) is the guy who basically revolutionized properly selling high end details. I too was a little underwhelmed by his working space.
  3. Fully developed aero package (wing , splitter, dive planes) looks to be the business, HUGE rubber...this is an exciting looking car. IDK what the HP number is...make it 3200-3400 lbs please.
  4. Whatever solution you go with, use a time sert to fix the threads. They are a REALLY nice fix for stripped thread issues. http://www.timesert.com/ Ssed these on the uprights of the GT3 since the since the caliper threads in the aluminum uprights are known to get weak.
  5. I'm betting that one is the same one my buddy ordered. Ran it for short periods of time in his E30 and smells didn't completely go away. Let it run for like 6 hours and everything was all better. You've got the best approach nailed here assuming the residue is completely cleaned up and didn't get under the carpet into the insulation.
  6. +1. This time of year these guys are probably pretty darn busy and not on here much.
  7. I did everything in my power to make my first "regular" 911 special on the level of a GT car, ultimately it was a great car but it still fell short in every category...it was just a better regular 911. Still miss this car...but in reality it was never what I wanted it to be: http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/Picture127.jpg You need a GT3 or GT4.
  8. says the guy with weird looking J-Hook's carved into his rotors
  9. What is the budget? M2 is 60-70 with any options...I saw a nice NSX for sale the other day and it was listed at 70. C7 is gotta be 50-60-ish right? I'm really not sure that any of them give you the driving experience you are after without a good bit of money thrown at suspension...and probably pulling weight out of the M2. But S2000 CR and other options seem much less expensive...so just trying to figure out what the budget really is. Side note...S2000 CR is an amazing driving experience but kinda slow. Honestly....you sound like someone who needs to be driving a Porsche GT car not a regular 911
  10. Glad to see it finally made it! Go enjoy it and get a track day booked soon
  11. I got really into it one winter. Won a points championship in the Mustang's. realized how time consuming it was and that's about the time I really put it down. It's a great training tool though and I should really pick it back up. Participating in more casual leagues is a much better way to have fun with it and random pick-up races here or there are also a good time. One of our Rennlist leagues was sponsored by CXC simulators and they brought in Patrick Long to participate in the league every week and would give away autographed gear if you could out qualify him. I edged him out for the pole at Laguna one week and got a really nice pair of autographed Puma driving gloves I still have to this day.
  12. It's the best sim I've ever used....ever...ever ever. You might be surprised...the way the driver rankings work you can't race like it's a video game without having a horrible driver rating and never being able to work your way up from anything but Miata's (sorry Chandler ) As you progress as a driver and driver ranking you'll be grouped in races with people of similar rank...meaning you'll be against people generally around your same speed and it eliminates the asshats that think it's a demolition derby. Shit still happens...but there are consequences. The vehicle dynamics, the tracks, etc really are the best in my opinion. Your setup will be fine..you don't need the most expensive stuff to have fun. It WILL cost you a good deal of money in the end....it just will. YOu'll start racing on the supplied tracks and then a couple that you buy...but as soon as you want to race in a series for it's full duration you'll need to buy all the tracks in there if you want to compete for a championship. My personal favorite car was the Mustang's (who would have know) until the Porsche's came along. I haven't done anything on iRacing for the last 12 months or so...just writing this makes me want to go buy the additional RAM I need for my outdated machine and pick it back up again.
  13. no 991's...I've got to draw the line on budget somewhere...otherwise there's a Red / black 991 Turbo S in Cleveland we'd be driving already. I'd rather still find a 997.1 turbo 6-speed as I've still got all of my upgrade parts off of the old car. But I'm open to a 997.2 car even though I'm anti-PDK from a purist perspective only.
  14. The problem with that area is You're either going to get really expensive fancy food, bar food, or fast food and not much else. Most of the nice sit down places are overpriced for what they are. Hudson 29 is a great example as is The Barn. We gave them both 2 shots and left with no urge to ever have to come back. Rosa and Rocco's is a happy medium but it's pretty small. I'm not sure they could accommodate 30 and still have too much room left over for regular business though it's worth a shot. There's "nice" bar food places right in New Albany. Rusty Bucket and Mellow Mushroom both have rooms that they could possibly put your party in...but it might be tight in those rooms. Worth a shot to at least talk to them. One of our favorite dive's out here is Flanagan's. They have a LARGE party room that you could reserve, they have some really fantastic bar food, their Pizza is among my favorite in town and it's inexpensive...BUT..it's not nice or fancy in the least so if you need some sort of atmosphere other than "hey we're in a party room at a bar" it may not be the place for you. Joe's suggestion of getting catering from 62 Barbecue could also work if you can eat at the location of the rehearsal.
  15. This is going to be more difficult than you might think. Track first is the best option but I'm still not sure they're going to have what you want. Auto Assets doesn't really have any in stock or on-hand any longer...thought they might have a couple of race cars in the shop with seats you could sit in. What seats are you considering? You might have better luck finding individuals with those seats and making multiple trips to try out one at a time. You're more than welcome to sit in my car if you want to try out any Recaro shells. The bottom half of my seat is the same as a pole position if that's on your list.
  16. I'm doing a couple of executive certificate courses currently online...as basically a feeler to see if I'm going to look towards online vs. classroom for my MBA. Ours are 3 hour live sessions once a week with regular workload outside of that class. I've found I've integrated well online but I'm still not convinced I"ll do my MBA online. As others have stated it's just too easy to get distracted no matter how isolated you think you are.
  17. Quick update - Because of complaints from people who live near the track NCM has had to put in place a 103 DB limit (@ 50 ft) for all events moving forward until an alternative agreement can be made. If you are planning on attending you better be certain your car is quiet or it will be parked.
  18. Sorry i'm an idiot and can't figure out how to embed this video because it's not standard youtube format. Was dumb but fun to watch at the same time. http://www.redbull.com/jp/ja/motorsports/stories/1331785009751/a-day-in-the-life
  19. Can someone explain to me how they do RWD burnouts and then apparently launch using AWD?
  20. No Pony, No Bull. Considered both but the turbo really was the perfect car for what we wanted then and it still is now.
  21. I have almost purchased 2 GT4's in Red / Black...she's just not into it. Disappointing as I'd love to have one but I've already got my toy...this is hers with me having visitation rights
  22. Pretty much. It's a little newer, 3.8 DFI motor, PDK transmission, ceramic brakes, center lock wheels, etc...though I'd still do the older 3.6 / 6-speed like our old car. We're holding out for Red with black interior and it has to be coupe which is proving to be quite the challenge. Just didn't make many in that combo. Thought I had her talked into white the other day then she saw it in person and decided she didn't like white on that car.
  23. ...can't this be black interior. Exactly what we are looking for but I can't stand the tan interior http://chrome.cdn.searchoptics.com/inventory_parser/uploads/2011/porsche/911/WP0AD2A90BS766092/640/2011-Porsche-911-104852003.jpg http://www.toybarncars.com/pre-owned/porsche/911/2011-red-s-turbo-3295800.html
  24. Isn't that even more reason to vote for Trump? Sure they're going to buy trump off too eventually but the other guys have already sold out to the string pullers long ago in order to even be in a position to make a run for the white house. I know Trump says he's self funding but that's not entirely true...but he's currently less influenced by the political string pullers in my opinion. He'll make them work hard to buy him off at least when the time comes.
