  1. +1 I actually think having a business minded asshole who's looking out for #1 will be a refreshing change. I highly doubt in the event he gets elected he'd be a two term president but I'm interested to see how much he can shake things up and possibly get the rest of the idiots in Washington to take a serious look at why people are soo fed up with career politicians.
  2. I think you've done a great job of narrowing down exactly what you want. I don't see why that wouldn't wok for you. Only other thing I'd suggest considering is E55 or E63. Will be more difficult in the snow than the awd 535 though and you'll be dealing with a slightly older car. They've still aged well in my opinion and don't come off as 10 year old cars to most. You're correct on the 14 bimmer...they are awesome looking cars but you will no doubt take a bath on it with a 3 year hold.
  3. I realize that Todd's departure from this site was not a peaceful one. I'm not getting involved in that. Josh asked for a specific service level and attention to detail. The list, in my opinion, just isn't that long for people that are available and taking new business. Had I know Addison (Good Guys) was back in town he would have also been on my list. I thought he had moved south.
  4. Coming June 2015....
  5. Spendy...probably 500-600 for the two days. Chin events are great though, don't let the price scare you away if you are looking for alot of track time. My only real issue with them is needing to buy a membership for a group that's not in our neck of the woods very often. Most of their members don't care because they travel all over to all of the events on the schedule. They may seem stuffy but it's actually a great group to run with.
  6. Brilliant. This is what the Z06 should have been...the blower on the Z06 ruined it for me. I hope there are other interior options...that one is barf.

    2016 911 R

Call me a Fanboy but I love everything about it. I'd really like to convince Yasmin to let me order one of these in place of a replacement for her turbo...but my initial inquiries lead me to believe I won't be able to get an allocation even if I wanted one. First allocations will go to current 918 and GT3 RS owners prior to being opened up to everyone else. oh...the stripes have some sort of heritage...but they are stupid and would be an option delete if I were to get the ability to order one.
  8. I've been following him on Instagram seems like he knows his stuff and has all the right tools for success.
  9. my wife is sending me pictures and video of Easton...looks like they have almost 2 inches over there. I'm looking out my window here in Dublin calling her crazy cause there's nothing on the ground here.
  10. They changed it up and it's like a banquet hall now with the cars on display throughout the hall. Doesn't sounds like they do tours anymore.
  11. He's visiting for work...trying to make the best out of his trip
  12. I'm not sure why this is such a difficult question for me to answer, a member from Rennlist reached out to me asking me what attractions / activities are a must-do for an auto enthusiast visiting Columbus OH. He is visiting from Germany Catch is he's coming in a couple of weeks, so mid Feb I'm struggling with what to suggest. Obviously there's Cars and Coffee but you can never guarantee turnout in feb. Mid Ohio won't have anything going on in Feb. No Auto-x or the like either. Obviously we have a couple of race teams in town here (Rahal and Shank) but I'm not sure if they do shop tours or anything like that....come to think of it why have I never even looked into something like this??? So anyhow...Mid Feb, what do you suggest a car guy (Porsche specifically) do and see when they come to town?
  13. added US Audi Club at Mid Ohio in July. I'd highly recommend this event to any first time students. Their beginner program is very good.
  14. so...uhhh...when does this mystery end?
  15. You should consider the following weekend with NNJR instead. I love MOR PCA, I think they fucked up making the club race weekend also have a full DE integrated into the schedule. Until this year it's always been advanced only, it's been a great environment go drive and have some fun, beat up on race cars using DE as practice sessions, watch some racing in the middle of the day and then finish out the day driving yourself. Catch is, if there are delays in the schedule the DE guys loose time which has happened before. That as difficult enough with just 2 DE groups without instruction, let alone a fully instructed DE groups with all skill levels. I know they made it cheap, you'll get 3 runs per day @ 20 min each max if there are no delays. I personally feel it was a dumb move focused on income for the club to go full DE for this event. I will state, last year registration for the racing was the lowest it's ever been, they combined races and cancelled the second Enduro and the 2 DE groups got open track after lunch on Sunday which was great. I very much consider that the exception not the norm.
  16. center is wrong for a 997 wheel. Close to a 996 wheel in the center but seam placement is wrong and it's missing the thumb bumps.
  17. You have an electric ratchet? Favorite tool in my box.
  18. No. Not really comparable cars though.
  19. Actually...this may be the most relevant statement here. You never give away what you've really got...it's the battle of how convincing you are that your car is slow. Most of the races from my day were won in negotiations not in the actual race. Here was my line - It's a slammed mini-truck with a NAPA built small block in it. I'm more concerned with looks than speed...then we'd go from there and I'd take people's money.
  20. fresh brake fluid, good condition pads and tires, approved helmet (you can get a loaner in a pinch) and a good attitude. Most of these clubs realize that these events need to be run like a business to survive, they are not highly profitable to begin with so the days of needing a BMW to be at a BMW club event, or Porsche at PCA event are long gone. You don't even need to be a paying memeber of any of these clubs to take part in their HPDE events. Signup for the majority of these are either on Clubregistration.net or motorsportreg.com I would suggest the bigger groups like PCA, BMW club or US Audi club for beginners...their beginner programs are much better in my opinion.
  21. added US Audi club in July...one of my favorite events.
  22. Beaver Run is now call Pitt Raceway. The track was purchased by the owhership team that owns VIR and they completed the full track layout as of August of last year. It has finally developed into the property they originally hoped it would be. Dates above referenced as Pitt are at that facility.
  23. We've gone way off topic in this thread...but what the hell I'll go one more. I've never driven a front engine, rear drive car that has driving dynamics closer to a 911 than the FD...which is a great thing. Only difference is you can lift mid corner in an FD and not spin like a 911 :-) I'm sure some of that is setup that Chris worked on forever but it makes for a car that punches way above it's league at the track. Noteables that I've tracked that I'd pick the FD over: C5 Z06 E36 M3 E46 M3 997 Turbo
