I trust you have this posted on MBWorld? I had mine on the market for a solid 2 months before I decided to just keep it. Market was weird there were ALOT of people that were more than tire kickers in my opinion, but none that ever sealed the deal. In the end now that I don't have storage space issues I'm glad that we kept ours. For the money I'm not sure there's a better car out there everyone in the market is just deathly afraid of fixing them if something breaks. Ours just turned 75K miles and has been HUGELY reliable and it's been modified since it was brand new.

Anywhere from $150-190 would be my guess. '14's with engine replacements and a few miles are down around the $150k mark, low mileage '15's I've still seen upwards of 190...Byers has a red one priced at that point right now. GT silver custom paint on this one is a nice touch.

I tried like hell to talk her into a 991 GT3 or a GT4...no go on both or I'd have one sitting in the garage already. She loves having a sunroof, she loves the torque of the turbo and despite my selfish desires for another GT3 or GT4 the turbo is ultimately the better fit for a street car for us. I thought I had the perfect car all wrapped up last week and then the seller backed out last minute and decided not to sell it. Back to the drawing board. We had a more serious discussions about the F430 lurking in the background than she was willing to have about a GT3 or GT4

+1. I had a car once that was soo perfect I never drove it, just stared at it in the garage and wiped it down with a diaper. I was so mind fucked about keeping it perfect that I didn't enjoy it like it was meant to be enjoyed which is why I eventually sold it.

I've seen some magic from PDR guys but this is not a PDR job.

I admit I'd get skunked....and I actually did 2 or 3 of them last year with both the GT3 and the turbo I need a big shift in driving philosophy to be better through the cones. If it fits in my schedule I may come out to something this year when you boys are at circleville or something.

Preliminary list of stuff from the groups I would typically run with. Feel free to add events as you know of them. I was thinking 335i

budget? seems all your choices are american, would you consider something non domestic?

G27 is good enough, brake mods such as the springs / rubber stoppers are at minimum required for the brake pedal to make it good. I've been more than competitive in the past on iRacing with my modified G27 setup. Yes there are better out there but if you find one at your price point you will be happy.

Jeff, I work right around the corner from you guys, drive past every day on the way home from work. Happened to see a Gulf livery Ford GT sitting behind the barn on my way home yesterday, almost pulled a stalker move with a lot drive through but I was on my way to an appointment and couldn't stop.

seems weight distribution and handling might suffer

Supply and demand. Sadly, because of the values of Porsche GT cars in general the last few years most are buying them, stuffing them in a garage and treating them like an investment instead of driving and enjoying them.

Haven't posted a picture of the GT3 in awhile. new rear wing, new dive planes on the front bumper, different track wheels but when it's on the street it's still on the OEM wheels. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/B2DE05B9-2F46-4528-A28A-E8A44D27E372_zpsjrsvo0rq.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/Madness1_zpsnsclud6o.png Annual big winter detail started, maintenance stuff to happen in Feb / Mar http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/697C9FCA-3668-4320-8635-8CCB6BBB020F_zpsczztb8at.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/290D5AF4-11E4-4BF1-B452-206DA153D3C3_zps9suyy92q.jpg

Rob, Welcome to CR. We spoke a bit last year when I was making a wing change on my GT3 and I found your input highly valuable in that decision. When it goes full track car one of your wings WILL be on the back of it.

My cordless 1/2 impact would only put the axle bolts on the GT3 back on to about 180 ft/ lbs. My brother's M18 1/2 impact got them all the way up to 300 ft / lbs making the final torque procedure quite easy.

I gave him the tire storage location after seeing yours and being really impressed with placement

+1. The ratchet is amazing.

Awesome. Curious if he paid near MSRP and if he's tempted to flip given current market value of if he's going to actually drive and enjoy it. Love the GT Silver BTW.

Top Gear - Chris Harris and Sabine Schmitz new hosts
AudiOn19s replied to zeitgeist57's topic in Passing Lane
Isn't this like the 2nd or 3rd time they've announced the new presenters? I like this lineup...I'll watch. Harris might be my favorite automotive journalist in the field currently. Sabine is a great driver but I'm not a huge fan of her on camera. It's like she tries too hard to be funny and have personality and it comes across as pretty fake to me. When is it supposed to be back is the bigger question. -
The issue I see here is...you've had a couple of really well balanced, light, driver involved sports cars with good power to weight. Based on your suggestion you're taking away handling and light weight and driver interaction in favor of just something with more power and straight line performance. Is that really what you're after? If you're looking for faster without giving up the driving experience, FD is the only choice in my opinion. Based on the shopping I did with Chris (smokey) earlier this summer it's going to be every bit of your 20-25k budget to get a nice one.

Your times at GP are only as good as the current session you are in. I've been there for events over the course of a 2-3 hour interval and had the track change for both better and worse during just the time that I was there. Joe did a good job of laying out many of the factors involved with just the track, and then no matter how they try there will be better carts than others as well. If you're there at the same time as someone that's really fast and running similar times then they go the next week and crank out a lap that's 3-4 seconds faster assume that you would likely have been able to also match that pace if you were there at the same time. They didn't find that much time in one week in drive improvement alone...unless of course you were both just really slow to begin with :-) I've been to Buckeye a few times, always with work so there's never anyone to challenge me. I don't feel like the carts are any quicker, not even the whole instantaneous torque argument...but maybe it's because I'm fat an none of those carts accelerate worth a damn with me in them. I enjoy the fact that they can and do change up the track periodically, but the movable walls means the track is never exactly the same as it was previously because there are no hard boundaries to deal with.

Now that snow season is right around the corner...lets bump this up one more time.
