Pretty sure next is...another FD and a lot of spare parts from this one. Impact was BIG! Cage, harness and head and Neck restraint all did their jobs at protecting the driver.

Times have changed. Back in the day there weren't opportunities to get your car out on a track unless you went full fledged racing. Today high performance drivers education events are a popular way to take your street car to the track and exercise it in a controlled environment without some of the risks of racing. None of these cars are meant to be "race cars" you would go enter in the Trans-Am race next weekend.

614-402-3056 He did a great job for us at a great price on the patio at our old place.

Head looks decently clean. Run seafoam or tranny fluid through the oil right before an oil change once a year, change on 5k intervals and don't use crap oil and you'll be good. Did you check all the lifters to make sure they were perfectly flat while you were in there? You changed the timing chain tensioner seal (half moon shaped deal) while you were in there right? That's the most common source of leaks.

First thing to make me laugh in this thread in awhile

As Chris stated, those are Forgelines but a wheel they haven't produced in YEARS. Was a great, strong, light wheel in it's day. Pretty small by modern standards.

A tank to go blow up whatever government branch made up this stupid rule so that I can have all of my cars back.
-
Did you replace MAF too? un-plugging it to diagnose a bad sensor is ok, driving it like that is not. Did that once my turbo got soo hot it would glow in the dark. It's just going to run on a default fuel map with the sensor unplugged.
-
you replaced the coolant temp sensor right? might have introduced a little air in the system
-
If CTS was bad and it thinks the car is hot and will pull timing, start there first when mine went bad it wasn't that extreme. If the TPS codes continue replace that too. I'd pull and clean the throttle body and MAF while you are at it and obviously wait for the new coils. Timing belt done? The second time I did my timing belt I had the timing off one tooth and it ran like you described but without misfires. Easy to check timing just pull front timing covers and line up the marks. More than likely not this but no harm in checking if you are giving it a once over and gives you an opportunity to make sure the belt is good shape too

After 13 years of owning one and doing my own wrenching I'd say I know enough to be dangerous. What you need to know. Audiworld used to be THE source but has gone downhill. Still has great B5 content.

He's more than welcome to make a donation but the only detail work I'm doing these days is on my own cars It's funny the lobster claw's are the most hated Porsche wheel in recent history but you throw them on something other than a standard 997 carrera and they look pretty darn good. I'm with Clay in that they probably need spacers to look a little more aggressive both front and rear (front offsets are different on 997 cars) but they still look pretty good.

My 230k mile 1.8t got 24 mixed. I love reading Audi maintenance nightmare stories and wondering what I did differently with mine to have as few issues as I did???

I've got a 07 GMC 1500 SLT crew cab. It's a nice truck and I like it enough I guess. 5.3 + DOD = bad rings and an oil burning monster as a result mine has 6.0 swap done by the previous owner (good friend of mine) SLT fully loaded is nice inside and someplace that's easy to spend time in. 4 door is key in my opinion

I'm rather anti-electric / hybrid yet have really enjoyed the P85 and P85+ that I've driven. I could absolutely see why people enjoy and marvel over these as I certainly did while I was behind the wheel of them. Like the OP, I thought the interior was bad, like they hope the screen captures and keeps your attention so that you don't notice how bad the rest of it is. I won't own one, but after driving one I "get it" and totally respect those who decide to opt for one.

Are you saying you need more qualified instructors? I could probably wrangle some up for you.

What is this track day stuff you all talk about?

After spending the weekend wedged in one of these puppies at mid ohio last weekend and even driving it one wet session ( though like a pussy cause it wasn't my car) I can attest that they are an absolute hoot!!!

Final Alignment done, fresh tranny fluid and oil last night. Despite my paint guy being out of town until the beginning of may I blasted the parts with black primer and installed them for the track day this weekend. She's officially done now other than paint on the black bits. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/B9EEA14B-A5F4-411E-B306-77EE405D2591_zpsqwpq7mxd.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/C94303BB-E9F9-4123-AD5C-C67007123740_zpsr3zhegli.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/81E16A9A-B4CA-4FBE-B27C-C1DE6D8F8CBF_zpsaep3arkx.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/4C0D21ED-1E10-49A8-B3C4-C309510EF095_zpsw2pxlajm.jpg

what a race this week!!!!!

Sorry to hear this. I still get asked who I suggest and it's a very short list and those guys are either very busy all the time or very expensive.

Since I had to dick with ride heights and everything I was hoping not to mess with, she went back on the scales last night for fine adjustments. 50.3 / 49.7 cross weights with me in it on the 2nd attempt and I called it a night. it's at 50.1 / 49.9 without driver weight. One more trip to the alignment rack, put the brake ducts back on it and she's ready to rock. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/C987A59E-48C0-4322-B642-7F977823AEC8_zpsxycy3vab.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/FA15AE35-4FE0-4F1C-B551-21E3E0601113_zpsskho8agi.jpg
