  1. Absolutely. For someone wanting a track focused Porsche with an $85-ish budget you either get a 20-30k mile '07 GT3 or you get this...or you spend a little less and get an older GT3 like mine. I've got an inquiry in at Byers to see what sticker is with just sport buckets and xenon's as the only options. Not sure the wife would give up the 997TT for a GT4 but it's an interesting scenario to think about.
  2. The GT Porsche crowd love to talk about and speculate future values. The GT4 has a couple strikes against it in that department -standard 9A1 based Engine with <8000 rpm redline -not limited production. They will build as many as dealers / individuals will order. Time will tell though. Cayman R values are not that strong comparatively but they don't have a GT badge either.
  3. Ha!!!...congrats man. Take care of the little maintenance stuff to make sure it's up to snuff (hoses, diverter valves, etc)...then put a GIAC tune in that thing and let her rip!
  4. will they take 10% off of what I owe?
  5. The most impressive thing to me is the price. Yes, 85k is not cheap but there are a lot of special components on this car for the same price as a base base base 911 with 350hp. I happen to own a 3000 lb, 380hp, 6 speed GT porsche. Base price for this combo in 2004 was 99k. 11 years later we get it $15k cheaper. No, it's not a 911 but it will be a special car. Porsche takes that GT badge very seriously.
  6. Been waiting for the final release. Porsche hit this one out of the park in my opinion 3000 lbs 385 hp 6 speed manual 5 lug wheels 7:40 ring time Starts in low $80's https://www.pca.org/news/2015-02-03/porsche-unveils-cayman-gt4 **edit to add pictures**
  7. Eat something and give the rest of us a chance!!! maybe I should park my fat ass on a treadmill and do something about it on my end? ...nah
  8. Spend money on seat time and tires. Then graduate to real track time and come do an HPDE weekend
  9. Have not tried but have read good reviews. For your use there are no downsides I'd say.
  10. Fwiw - to this day my favorite item for cleaning wheels is microfiber gloves. They are cheap and soft and effective for cleaning wheel faces. Use the liug nut brush for tight areas and speedy brush for inner barrels.
  11. Autogeek has 20% off and free shipping on orders over $150 good for the next 14 hrs. Coupon code right on the main page. The free shipping incentives are worth it alone when buying in bulk esp gallons of product.
  12. Tom makes a good point. If you clean the wheels enough you don't need a dedicated wheel cleaner every time.
  13. Wheel cleaner - Sonax. It's expensive but it's good. Buy in bulk to bring price down Rinseless - optimum no rinse. Again buy gallon Leather - I've been very happy with Leather Masters line as of late. Still like zaino too but requires a couple of wipe downs after application to keep shine down. Brush - buy a soft lug nut brush and either a speed master wheel brush or wheel woollies. Not a power washer guy. Clean the hard to reach areas by hand
  14. http://www.cnet.com/topics/headphones/best-headphones/noise-canceling/ I'm not a huge fan of Bose either, but I actually think that a couple of their headphone models are great products and actually when you compare apples to apples they aren't a horrible value. I can't Stand their ear buds though...quite possibly the most overpriced POS in the world. From the the reviews you're going to be hard to beat their noise canceling models. I'm wearing a pair of SoundTrue by Bose right now typing this. They sound pretty darn good and when I break them every 12 months it's $60 to replace them each time with their replacement program and I can walk into Easton and have a new pair same day if needed.
  15. 1984 S-10. Bought when I was 15 and worked on almost non-stop. She was a small block, nitrous breathing monster (for the time at least) by the time I was 16 and driving. Great fun ride. Taught me alot of what I know about cars today, formed me into a hard working individual in order to continually feed it parts to make it faster. Couldn't have asked for a better first car experience.
  16. +1. My wife is at Easton Chase but as I understand it "good" jobs in that building are few and far between. Plus no matter where my wife works she still manages to not be able to get away from idiots that don't know how to park. 2 door dings in 6 months
  17. Aaron is correct here. Rear offset isn't nearly aggressive enough where the front is perfect. One of two things could be causing this. 1) non-staggered set of wheels meant for E46 used on M3 which is meant to have staggered fitment 2) Maybe they are staggered and they rotated wheels front to back on the car? Lips look to be the same size though so I'm guessing this is not the case. spacer in the rear and all is well with the world. E46 M3 has a bit of a reverse rake when properly setup to handle as well as it can. it'll tuck a little more in the rear than the front
  18. We got the heck out almost 2 years ago now. After living there for 10 years we grew to really hate the congestion. Cheap taxes, fantastic schools and central location make it a strong draw for many.
  19. +1 I've seen that video before and laughed at it being classic Kimi. But adding Thug lift takes it to the next level. You could do a whole thug life compilation just based on Kimi interviews and sayings
  20. Which auto is in it? if it's 09A then yes, they are quite problematic and you should look for a stick. 01M was a much more reliable transmission.
  21. I'm really not trying to be difficult here but unless the car is 100% spotless and clean installing a car cover, esp outdoors, is as bad or worse than brushing snow off of the paint. Again, I realize I'm the asshole who adds to the snow comet mess. I'm not trying to make excuses for the people that do it and don't give a shit about their cars. I'm just trying to explain that there is a subset of people who have put a good bit of thought behind it and have a reason, other than being lazy, for doing this. If it makes you feel any better I do brush the snow off of my Dodge Dakota but it's generally not the one in morning rush making a mess.
  22. 3 paragraph minimum. Best comment on this so far BTW.
  23. Subscribed. Can't wait to see more
  24. can't keep all 6 of them inside. The ones that sit out are protected to the hilt since they have to be subjected to the elements. I understand both sides of this argument. I do feel like an asshole when I do it. Something to consider. The majority of the damage you do to your car's paint is done via washing. The 2nd biggest culprit in this area is snow removal. You have dirty paint with an ice based solid particulate sitting on top of it. Moving the two of those across the paint without a layer of lubrication is certain to leave a mess behind.
