It's already got great clear bra coverage on it including extended flap coverage in front of the flared rear arches and door guards. Install ins't 100% to my liking but its pretty good. Since detailing is more of a hobby than a business for me I keep that business model pretty simple and don't do clear bra, tint, etc like some of the larger shops do.

Sucks for this guy...Like Jones said though you're never going to make every single one of them perfect. 1st year 991 had more issues than most products Porsche releases...a lot of them caught fire (yes standard 991's did that too in limited batches). Buy used...those issues will already have been sorted :-)

Thanks for the kind words. Surprisingly many have asked the fate of the Audi. I'm not selling her at this time. It will stick around as my detailing car and for winter duties still.

To be honest they were great to deal with. I HATE car dealers...I've had some horrible experience in the past and I've NEVER EVER purchased from a dealer before due to those bad experiences. I also have access to the wholesale market so it's tough for me to swallow retail money...most of my purchases are private party from enthusiasts or wholesale if it's not a special car. We went to Toy Barn in the fall last year to drive Cayenne Turbo's when we were considering them and again to look at this turbo and the experience both times was fantastic. They were not pushy, they listened to what I wanted and were very easy to deal with. To be honest, the price on this car was not too bad to begin with. They had it priced pretty aggressively. I went in armed with knowing they bought it from dealer auction last year, sold it, then took it back on trade. Not the first time they are making money on this car. I know the wholesale market for them well...so it boiled down to us being adults and determining what was a fair margin. I went a little higher than the number in my head ONLY because it has $15k in aftermarket parts on it that aren't worth squat to most buyers but were worth something to me.

Nope. I'm going to semi-retire the Audi and start driving the E55 myself. Audi has nearly 230k miles now it's time to give it a rest.

"Killer", as my wife has named it, came home and is resting in the garage this morning waiting out this weather. This will be Yasmin's new daily and something for me to play with when she permits. '07 Turbo, Slate Gray, 6-speed, 30k miles GIAC Flashloader filled with Pump gas, Race Gas, stock, valet and kill mode flashes Full Tubi street exhaust - Headers, 200 cell cats, muffler 997 GT3 shifter Champion / Werks1 Carbon fiber air box Champion / Werks1 carbon rear diffuser Champion (H&R) Lowering springs H&R Adjustable sway bars. Probably won't change much on it other than the wheels and Dennison Ice Link for Bluetooth integration. More than likely going to end up with 997 GT3 wheels instead of the Turbo II copies that are on there now. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_8072_zpsdcc2f66a.jpeg Proud new owner picking it up in the rain last night. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/killer1_zps3b0f92a4.jpg

+1...at this rate it's going to be mid may before the snows come off of my cars this year.

Sprayway is actually my favorite glass cleaner even over Invisible glass but you can't go wrong with either. There's no magic formula for glass once it gets really dirty. Expect to have to clean it several times over the course of a couple of weeks to get it to where it's easy to maintain without streaking.

I've been down this road with the city. Only way you can get reimbursement is if the pothole has been specifically reported to them as a problem and they were given "sufficient" time to repair the pothole. IF you can prove both of those have happened you might get them to take care of it but I honestly spent soo much time going down that road once that in the end I wish I would have just fixed it and moved on. In my case the wheel couldn't be repaired and had to be replaced so I was out a little more $$$ Wheel Medic used to be the go-to for this sort of thing. I've heard more and more negatives on them lately including my own personal experience however I couldn't tell you who else to go to for the repair.

Recommendations/Advice 4 Modding a BMW 135i

Kale does work for TCK..and while their parts are race oriented they build street cars too and a lot of their business is making street cars handle like race cars. With TCK coilovers the customer gets to pick the spring rate that suits their needs best. I have to give a nod to the Auto Assets guys too. I've had a personal and professional relationship with them for nearly 15 years now. I pride myself on doing 90% of my own mechanical work but when I cannot do a repair or do not have the time to do it myself Auto Assets is where I turn. -
Ha. After I carried on at cars and coffee that I couldn't justify the price delta over an M3???? Yeah we have a deposit on that slate gray car pending an inspection.
-
Thank you to Eric (EC E92) for the E92 ride at cars and coffee this morning. I really really appreciate it Have a deal done on something as of this afternoon pending PPI Monday. It's not an M3

So much hate in this thread. We all enjoy our toys differently but in the end no matter that use they bring us the same pleasure and pride. It's a nice day out boys, get the toys out of the garage and enjoy them however you wish today...I know I did this morning and I'm sure my neighbors probably didn't enjoy my exhaust as much as I did at 5:30 this morning but it sure put a smile on my face. Happy motoring.

I too like the Red belts and Red stitching...someone paid really good money for those when they optioned it. What do I know I have yellow belts in my car for the inner ricer in me :-)Good news is if you hate the belts there's always a market to re-sell them. FWIW you can order the belts in whatever you want as long as you tick the option box when ordering and of course cough up the $$$ Typical Porsche buyer will hammer any sale moving forward now that the car has documented damage history. Give them hell over it just as you'll get hell for it down the road if you ever sell. Car's not really a steal at 75k with that many miles. That's a high 60's car given mileage and damage history. One other side note...could mean nothing but I don't believe those are a factory available turbo correct wheel. Looks like an 18" Carrera wheel I think all the turbo wheels were 19's no matter the style. Could be wrong, make sure the rears aren't running a spacer to make them fit right. Nothing wrong with them I like the way they look more than the OEM wheels but again it's something that's out of place that will cause questions if you ever sell down the road.

Shawn, I'll be at Mid Ohio with MOR PCA April 26-27 then again with NNJR PCA May 16-18 and then at Putnam June 6-8 with KY PCA. Haven't planned past that point yet but thinking of Audi Club @ Mid Ohio in July as the next target. Would like to do some longer distance events near the end of the year thinking VIR and Road Atlanta this year in September / October.

Aaron call motive. Mine did that but it was more like 7-8 years old and they sent me replacement parts free of charge Can't speak highly enough about the company or their products.

E92 no doubt sounds like an animal...they even did pretty good on the stock exhaust which won't stick around however if that's the choice. Rymer hit the nail on the head. If I go Cayenne it's a keeper long term cause short term it will drop like a rock...it'll be worth $25k at best in 5 years. Not that the others will be worth a stack of cash but the Cayenne will take the biggest hit. E92 is 10-15k cheaper than Cayenne Turbo so I could do E92 plus truck...trying to avoid having 6 cars again. There was a 996 GT2 I tried and tried and tried to get her to settle on. That car is actually one that's not going to depreciate much at all but again woman logic prevailed it was too old and didn't have a sunroof nor modern electronics. Not winning that battle. Tried GT3 as well...997's have a sunroof but it's as much money as 997 turbo and turbo is a much better street car.

Looking through pictures #1 and #3 at TX Mile were on Hoosiers. Others that I can make out are on R888. Either would work. Hoosier is sticker. I think the tread wear rating is 40, rating on the R888 is 100
-
R6 is much sticker than R888. not an apples to apples comparison but R6 is worth about 2 seconds a lap on a 90 second road course over an R888. Best way I can show it's the sticker tire. R6 has 2 groove around the tire and no other tread. It's DOT rated but it's basically a slick. It does not have soft sidewalls like drag slicks do.

Wifey needs new Daily Driver. Narrowed down to 3 potential vehicles...well two actually with one being a long shot. Can't really decide looking for more opinions to make the decision even more difficult. E92 M3 - 415hp GT car. Does everything Very well. Does nothing outstanding. Has usable backseat not that anyone would ever be allowed to sit back there but nice to have I guess just in case. My heart says this is the right car. I really miss my E46 M3 I should have never sold it...moment of weakness I guess. Probably get an '11 if I get an E92 so It'll have some sort of warranty for at least a short period of time should I need to shake out any problems. What worries me is more and more reports of rod bearing issues in this platform though they are still considered isolated. http://photos.ecarlist.com/6k/cQ/3e/2A/5z/D9/W1/F2/VM/hc/nQ_800.jpg Cayenne Turbo - Say what? an SUV? doesn't make any sense. - I have the desire to start towing the GT3 to more and more long distance events. I'm trying to avoid buying a truck that I will only use for towing. Thinking I can consolidate vehicles instead of accumulating more by getting a Cayenne Turbo. Still meets her need for speed criteria plus it's a vehicle she can use in the winter. I sold her winter car and she complained all winter about driving the E55 in the snow. My Mind tells me this is the best / smartest decision to meet our current needs, my heart tells me it will be boring to drive and I'll hate it. This will also be an '11 model so the latest body style and still have a little warranty when purchased. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee206/dbvolz/2011CayenneTurboFrontQuarter.jpg Long shot: 997 Turbo - She won't drive a 996 turbo..I've tried she thinks it's too old. Women are stupid sometimes and this isn't a battle I'll win. so 997 is a candidate. It's the clear winner if money is no object. Problem is with an impending house I'm 75% sure I'm not going to make the stretch to get a 997 turbo at this point. http://cdn-www.rsportscars.com/images/porsche/2007-porsche-911-turbo/911turbo07_091600_w800.jpg Thoughts?

NT-01 and or R888 is the next step up. Both suck in the wet. R888 gets hard after it gets to about 1/2 tread remaining. NT-01 gets better and better until it cords. Honestly the gap between the tires Kale posted and R888's isn't what it used to be. The really sticky street rubber esp the Rival is much more sticky than the tread wear rating might indicate. If you don't care about being able to drive in the rain put Hoosier R6's on it and call it a day. Might be your best bet to getting the thing to hook and since it's a road race tire it'll still go around corners.

Somewhat in their defense...I purchased a car the same week of Barrett Jackson's Florida auction that year. So the majority of their trucks were in Florida transporting cars to and from the auction. Still I was quoted 3-4 weeks and they nearly doubled the high side of their timeline.

Intercity Lines - Pro's: Fantastic job with the car, personable truck drivers, the feedback from both myself and the person I bought the car from was that they treat every car like it's worth a million bucks. Covered in plastic if on the bottom to make sure no leaks happen, etc. Trucks are first rate equipment. I also found them to be reasonably priced within the providers that were proving that level of service for the vehicle. Comparing to open transport they are obviously quite a bit more expensive. Cons: Were not able to keep a schedule, were not good with communications when there were delays. Until the driver called me telling me he was a day out I had like 2 weeks where I had to call them if I wanted any info. Total time of delivery from Portland to Columbus was over 7 weeks all said and done.
