  1. I'm not really a fan of aftermarket sprayed black cars....way too many opportunities to notice mistakes but of those 3 it's the one I'd choose. Throw cyber gray in that mix and I'd change my vote in an instant.
  2. Yes, early ones are worth nothing...but are still great cars. there wasn't a GTS until '08. V8 means it's an "S" model
  3. Congrats, silver is sexy, it was our second choice behind GTS Red
  4. 5.99 : 1 is DAMN impressive. For comparison my GT3 is like 8:1 using crank power and 9:1 using wheel HP I mention wheel HP because that's how most of the big organizations spec out time trial classes.
  5. we need updates / pictures!!!!!
  6. Well driven, looks very composed and good times. I hate to say it but the turbo ///M cars turn me off I don't know much about them...what is the power / weight on it?
  7. IDK the studio 47 people...are they not filing a claim because compared to most of the cars they work on this was some cheap Beetle and they don't want their shop insurance rates to go up on something that isn't a huge claim? I'd have to think they are formulating a means to make the owner whole again correct? if not,....shame on you studio 47.
  8. Paging Farkas: please save this thread from janky-ass wheel suggestions.
  9. BBS is always a staple. CCW's for us track guys...but I think everyone is aware of their model they don't really do distributers. Forgeline as a substitute?
  10. No kids, no plans to have kids, not sure we're even capable after Yasmin's chemo but to be honest they were never in the plans anyhow. You can put a child seat in the front of an R8. I'm sure there's some massive debate on if it's proper to do that but it's an option, I've seen it before on the R8 forums. Heck I've seen forward facing child seats in the front of GT3's in the european fixed back Recaro's before. I agree with Eric that you'd be better with a 2 door coupe that has a back seat but we're all getting older so f'it and if you've got the means get something that excites you to drive! Eric - forget the Q5, you need more towing capacity than that. Even with an aluminum trailer between the car and trailer and your tools you'll be at absolute max towing capacity for the thing which is not a good idea for long haul trips. That's what disappointed me about the Macan was it was initially supposed to have like a 5500-5600 lb capacity which made it pretty attractive to me and when they lowered it to under 5k it was a no go for me any longer. Cayenne / Q7 can tow 7700...there's not even a towing package you have to add for it to tow just add the hitch and go if the vehicle doesn't already have one....or I've got a nice GMC pickup I'll sell you that will tow > 10k lbs and has all the nice fancy equipment of the cayenne, it's just not quite the same driving experience when not towing
  11. Yes, I think the GTS would have served us well too but I'm happy with the direction we went.
  12. This replaced the TDI? Congrats on the new ride. I too am somewhat shocked by this decision. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts at the 6 month mark. I've had a love / hate relationship with our benz but I'm using it as a daily now and have really come to terms with the car as a great / comfortable place to be on a daily basis. Crank up the heat and massage functions on the seat in the mornings and it really helps me with my old man back pain on my 30 min commute to work.
  13. 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 4x4 Sport Red / Black 126,xxx on chassis – 60K miles on 6.0L engine 6.0L conversion due to 5.3 oil consumption issues Black Leather with heated front seats Power driver and passenger seats Split folding rear leather seats Wood / aluminum dash trim NAV BOSE w/ satellite Factory Remote Start Tow package with 10,500lb capacity Electric brake controller Heated power mirrors Remote open power locks Dual climate control Rear passenger HVAC vents Auto headlights Auto wipers Selectable 4WD system with auto-2/4 option Parking Sensors Bed Liner Regular oil change (Shell Rotella T) and transmission fluid changes Fresh oil change 11/10/14 Tranny fluid changed 10k miles ago Good tires Recent front brake change New catalytic converters at time of swap Selling for a friend of mine, great truck. Suffered from 5.3 oil consumption issues so a 6.0L was swapped in place of the 5.3 Swap done ~10k miles ago. New plugs, 2 oil changes since and new catalytic converters. Truck pulls hard and more importantly doesn’t burn a drop of oil, and all emissions are in place and working. The only difference to the 5.3 is that the Displacement on Demand is disabled (that’s what caused the issue with the 5.3 anyway). Tuned by Dyno Tune Motorsports after swap makes 305 hp /339 tq at the wheels with 6.0L. At the time of the swap new water pump, idler pullies, tensioners and belts were also installed all have approx. 10k miles on them This truck has every option available except a sunroof. No accidents, no paint work. Title is free and clear. $16,500 **edit - better pictures** http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6711_zps939006db.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6712_zps153640c4.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6713_zps6870d957.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6715_zps702aa0db.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6716_zpsb3eb49e3.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6718_zps9be1c765.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6719_zps1a49de04.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6722_zpse8db7d89.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6727_zps5ab76a04.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6730_zpsea22b47e.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6731_zps5dda91bb.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6733_zps5f67660f.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6737_zpsa4332cca.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6735_zps4e71c60a.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/IMG_6736_zpsba37cc56.jpg
  14. They fixed the coolant pipe problems with the 08+ Cayenne so it's not a worry in the ones you are looking at. the 09-10 got the upgraded PCM electronics which in my opinion are well worth the extra coin, much better nav and more importantly factory integrated USB / IPOD adapters and I believe blutooth as well. GTS doesn't have a TON of options because most of them are included in the package already. Panoramic roof is nice but it tends to squeek. We almost bought a 6 speed '09 GTS this past summer for exactly what you intend to us it for. I think it would have been a perfect solution for us but we went the complete opposite direction instead. First Gear is STUPID short in the 6-speed. Perfect for towing, dumb around town. You will literally find yourself using 2nd to start off quite a bit first is soo short. 6th is geared well for the freeway thought. The 6-speed wasn't a bit difficult to drive at all ours was also going to be a driver for my wife. the 21" wheels for the GTS are great looking but 20" and 22" rubber are both cheaper. Keep that in mind. '08+ still have the same cardan (drive) shaft issues. It's a 2 piece shaft and the bearing in the middle joint goes bad. When you drive it go slow and then stop on the gas. if it sounds like something hits the floor that bearing needs replaced. The nice thing is up until a couple of years ago you had to replace the whole drive shaft but there are solutions out there now to just replace the bearing. Other than that they are a pretty robust platform. I know several guys in PCA that tow with their GTS 6-speeds and love them to death and a couple of them are closing in on 200k miles with very few issues.
  15. The guys from The Reteofit Source used to be local, they have since moved to ATL but might be able to point you in the direction of who they used locally for installs. I know for awhile they did their own installs but I believe it's all farmed out now
  16. Not Forgestar. They make great looking but horribly fragile wheels....unless you want to own wheels that will all crack within 18 months.
  17. It's pronounced the way you typed it, but the Spanish f'd up the spelling just like the Germans f'd up the spelling of my last name. Result = impossible to get her full name correct.
  18. I wish her the best. You both need to build a strong support system around each of you individually as you will both need different forms of support at different times in your journey. The weirdest part, at least for us, was that we found support in places we least expected it sometimes. People's true colors come out when others are in need.
  19. 5 years ago today I watched the love of my life, the strongest person I know, finish up her final round of Chemo. Weak, sick and physically beaten down from the treatments she chose to take a direction with her life that has been inspirational to watch. Her passion for life and her drive to be healthy and true to herself are on a level I’ve never before seen. I’m just happy to wake up next to her every morning and hang on for the ride!!! F U Cancer, eat your heart out. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/chemo1_zpse1c8dcef.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/chemo2_zpsc70df87a.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/3_zps4c5a488a.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/8_zps09d70494.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/4_zps4ef56235.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/5_zps1b84a6dc.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/6_zps984acd9e.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/C8FE422E-9BFE-486C-8CEF-E3D945D74654_zpsmf8izxya.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/1E07BE6B-5E0C-4AC9-8C61-46BA42E17D6C_zpsdplqnewj.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/12_zpse117aa4e.jpg
  20. Great job overall. The one biggest thing I see that I would have tweaked from the passenger seat is you are "creeping in" under braking on all of the critical high speed corners. On the back side of the track where it flows you are doing pretty well but in T1, T7 (end of back straight) and T12 (left at the end of thunder valley) you creep towards the turn instead of staying track out under braking. The result is that when you actually get to the turn-in point you are already at about mid track costing you corner angle and LOTS of corner speed.
