Not my old car. This one is red/black, newer, less miles and with a few more mods. I'm waiting for him to send me better pictures to post.

That shit pisses me off to no end. It's not permissible to ever lean up against, touch, or even breath on someone else's car without permission....and even if they give you permission it's still f'ing wrong. Don't touch the paint!!!!!

Joe , good to bump into you today down there. I had a blast with my company on our outing today. Curious, does the heat effect track/ performance? After reading this thread I was hoping for better results today. I got into the high :36's and was just a tick off of joe's lap which was quick lap of the day but was hoping to be quicker. Maybe I just need more laps and loose some weight with my 215lb ass

What was the resolution of it previously going into limp mode on a regular basis?

When my black daily driver sat in a garage at work and in my garage at home it was relatively easy to keep it pretty good looking on a regular basis. Now that it sits outside 24/7 it looks like crap all the time. The quick washes you speak of in your original post will not get you the results you are looking for. The car will come out of the spotless wash looking less worse but not clean by any means. I guess the better question is what is your tolerance level for the car looking dirty? You stated you don't need a mirror coat shine to be happy with it....but if you're not planning on hand washing and drying and wiping it down with a quick detailer once a week I have a feeling you won't be happy with the way it looks MOST of the time.

ignore the dirty yellow GT3...she's a track rat not a show queen...but I volunteered to be part of the 50 years of 911's

Macron mobile??? This isn't an endorcement it's just an option. Liquid luster is also mobile I believe. I was generally booked 4-6 weeks out this time of the year but I didn't detail full time either.

The fact that we can talk about it here for 5 pages on CR means they've already done their job. Love it or hate it people will talk about it and know/ respect it (assuming it delivers performance wise). Not my cup-0-tea but will be a car to remember.

When we were in Playa Del Carmen a couple weeks ago there were was a rental company that already had one of these for rent. It was pretty cool to watch but clearly it's something that requires some time to learn and master as most tourists who tried it could get a few feet up in the air and then pretty much immediately crashed. Had we had a little more time on our hands I might have given it a go just to say I've tried it.

Free bump. Both your wheels and car are B6 chassis

All, Thank you for all of the nice comments. I've had several of you reach out to me about training the last couple of days has me thinking of ways to best put together training programs to teach others how to pick up the skills needed to do with this as you please. I will make an announcement next week on possible opportunities there. There's a general "Autopian" best practices approach to detailing that myself, Ryan (ForeverMaker) and Todd @ Ecoteric all follow. Those two guys will take care of you and your precious toys moving forward. Ryan is obviously a CR member and I'd suggest him first...his price point will also be lower for the same work. Give him a shout you won't regret it. Ryan I'll be expecting referral checks in the mail Andy

It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing that I will no longer be detailing. This has gradually been coming over the last few years with the advancement of my primary career coupled with numerous shoulder and back injuries. This past winter I suffered a shoulder injury that put it all into perspective and as I still continue to recover it's become very obvious I need to put detailing aside. I want to thank each and every one of you who has supported my business over the years. Columbus Racing has by far been the biggest source of new business for me and I've forged some really great relationships along the way that will surely continue for years to come. I'm currently evaluating exactly what to do with the business. Let it die, hire and train individuals to do the work for me, change up the business model completely...I'm not certain what direction it will go at the moment. One thing that is for certain is I will absolutely still be here to answer any questions in any way possible to help others out. Thank you CR. Sincerely, Andy

Both fantastic. When I think of old school this is always the first song that comes to mind

Couple videos from Putnam Park last weekend. Chasing my good friend around the track for most of these we had a fun weekend going out with each other and moving through traffic. Still working to get the data overlaid...the first video I posted a 1:17.8 denoted by the fist pump as I was clearly watching the data display. There lap 2 laps later I was over a full second up and on pace for a high 1:16 but caught my friend into T7 when he was cooling down and spoiled my momentum. Track was pretty slick this weekend so I"ll take those times for being on a "slow" tire. Sunday morning us just goofing around. 2 spins in front of me in 1 session was enough for me to call it quits as I didn't want the 3rd one to be the charm...plus you can see the rear tires were really going off as my last cople of laps it was everything I could do to hang onto it. IDK what happend to the audio on Sunday...camera issue?

May he R.I.P. Based on this photo he didn't have a chance...Doubt even a full cage would have made things better. Side impact with a wall and let the whole side of the car take the blow maybe...when you impale a car like that with a tree.... http://www.your4state.com/media/lib/180/a/b/b/abb54fc5-7804-4944-9847-a259b3168c97/Original.jpg

Was out of town last weekend but finally watched F1...best race in A LONG time!!!. Very exciting. Sucks we had to see issues with the Mercedes to bring them back to the field but it was interesting to see Nico deal with whatever the issue was (energy recovery) better than Lewis allowing him to continue while Lewis cooked his brakes. Nice to see a new winner as well.
-
beyond that...there's at least one animal incident on the track every weekend there...generally they are smaller animals with minimal issues to the cars however there have been 2 or 3 incidents involving deer and cars on the track that I can remember which is enough to keep me away. **fixed video**

My brother (Chris) took and passed the PCA National Instructor certification training this past weekend and is now official! We now have more CR track instruction available!!!

Sad indeed. Summit Point is not a safe facility. No car should ever be able to leave the racing surface and come in contact with a tree. No excuses. As I understand it this happened on the smaller Jefferson circuit not the main course.

this car have a small block in it? http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Columbus-Cars-And-Coffee-2014/i-kbKsJvk/0/O/IMG_7885.jpg

Friend of mine just painted a set of wheels and did matte gray centers with white barrels and it's really a striking look without being over the top crazy.

Sharp car. needs more low. Good luck with the sale. I've been daily driving our E55 and have found an appreciation for the car that I've never known before. They are a fantastic every day car.

This. Had one for 18 months and it went bad. Replacement made it another 12 months. Bought through costco and they had soo many issues with them that they quit carrying them. Costco gave me a 100% refund in the end but the battery was a disappointment and not worth it. I've got cheap autozone batteries that have lasted twice as 2-3x as long for half the money.
