the other one was on the you tubes which is blocked for me at work.

I've seen a few different angles of that, but not the in-car. YIKES!

Bump it up. Kale (bmwohio) will be there, Entry list is still pretty small which means run groups won't be crowded and there will be pleanty of track time.
-
I had hoped to be up there for the DE but couldn't make it work due to a project I'm working on going live this evening. Might come up Sunday for a little bit to visit some friends and watch a little action.

Distilled white vinegar first, polish if that doesn't work, compound if that doesn't work, sandpaper last

Detailers - Wheel finish problem/How to fix? Maybe Needs Refinished??
AudiOn19s replied to spankis's topic in Tech and Tips
if you have scratch-x just go ahead and try that first on a test spot. Color-X or chemical cleaners are always a first suggested step for me but they're pretty mild, you certainly won't hurt anything with the scratch-x it may just be overkill but only slightly. -

That's what I was thinking too, but I re-read his post where he thought they were cleared. IF they are cleared try a paint clearner first (Meguiars ColorX or #1 of the 3 stage are good, readily available options). If that doesn't work then step up to an abrasive polish like Meguiars scratchX also readily available. IF they are not cleared good old Mothers metal polish should work. or hell I'm not exactly right around the corner but if you stop over tonight I can try to fix...I'll be headed out of downtown at 4:00 if you can meet then and that's easeir. whatever works. Scott, are these chrome, bare aluminum or clear coated? That will determine what you should use. -
Sooo...there's def. some salemanship going on in the Ohio Bimmers thread in order for him to try to get top dollar.....I mean when you start listing stainless license plate hardware and leather treatment as service items you're trying a little bit too hard even if it's Leatherique. It's also been for sale for a LONG time so it would appear as though he's holding out for his magic number. BUT it got it's major service completely out of the way (the one I can do for $350 that he paid $1800 for) and won't need another till like 160k. It will need transmission fluid flush again soon even though maintenance won't call for it, every 50-60k miles if you want your Audi transmission to last. I'd skip an all-raod, air suspension and 2.7T is two strikes against it in the dependability argument. Honestly if E39 wagon's were proportioned wrong that would be the ultimate, I just think they look goofy. E46 wagon's can be hot though but probably harder to find in AWD if that's a must. I think the BMW's and the Audi's both have their little quirks, doubt maintenance between them will be that much different, probably best to drive both and decide which you like better.

go A4 not S4 for a daily. particularly not a B5 S4 like the one you linked to. The 2.7 is not the most dependable platform. The Silver B6 A4 wagon on Ohio Bimmers would be an outstanding daily diver if you ask me. Think he's down to like $10k now I've daily driven my 1.8T A4 for the last 10 years, it acts as a work truck for me, despite all the Audi hatred it's been an outstanding car and extremely cheap to maintain and drive. Parts through ECS tuning up in cleveland are cheap and good. I've done my own timing belt services twice now and they're like $350 a pop to do yourself. Mine starts, runs, drives and functions properly every day with >210k on the clock now. I can count on one hand the number of times it's cost me more than a couple hundred bucks to fix something that's gone worng.

Sent you a PM on availability. I use a whole HK speaker setup for the speakers including their 12" 300w sub. The whole package was really reasonable and I only ever felt the need to upgrade the front center unit to something better.

already one BRZ signed up. ...though you should really bring the STi.

As others have mentioned it really depends on what you're looking for, There are great locations downtown and all within a few blocks of each other but if you're looking for something rural these won't apply. As mentioned the tunnel near Spaghetti Warehouse, then the street in front of Cosi where you have water and the city as a backdrop, the two new bridges right down there are pretty sweet though you may get hassled if you stop and try to photo there. Couple good spots down by the new ball stadium. The Buggyworks building which is directly behind the stadium has a cool little brick street with arch tucked back between their main building and the building they converted to condo's. Side street down by Buca downtown that snakes inbetween all of the bars down there is accessable. The Arch right across from the stadium on Nationwide Blvd Many of the garages downtown will cost you a couple bucks to get into and the roof's of them are generally empty. There's a crazy blue brick wall behind the fire station at like 4th and Nationwide ...thinking of more. I run downtown almost every day on lunch and have a few places picked out to do photos, even have the equipment to do it myself I'm just generally too lazy to ever do it. Went to take a ton of pictures one morning before cars and coffee and it f'ing rained that morning.

These threads always entertain me, everyone has their own preference on what best fits...it's cool for a variety of opinions and an entertaining thread but I always wonder how much of a benefit it really is to the OP. In my opinion, E46 M3 is the best all around car in that price range that is manual, decent on gas, practicality to be a DD and a nice car all at the same time.

VIDEO VIDEO VIDEO!!! Moving can suck and be consuming. Just trying to give you a hard time! P.S. you should come to the SCCA PDA on the 31st of this month. Will be a good time -
^^^ makes me miss my old small block S-10

I signed up last year for advanced group without ever participating with them other than Auto-x like 10 years ago. Put a summary of my driving history and no questions were asked. You'll be fine Matt. They put an instructor with me for a Check out ride which is difficult for you but I doubt it will matter This event was very lightly attended last year, maybe 15 -18 cars max in each run group. Pace was pretty good in the groups and I never had an issue with getting a point. My only complaint was no open passing.

There was a great turnout of CR people at the Torqued racing day at Nelson recently, I encourage all of you that attended plus those of you that were on the fence about going to consider signing up for the SCCA PDX on 8/31 at Mid Ohio. $225 for non-SCCA members, $210 if you are already a member. 1:1 in-car instruction as well as classroom sessions to accellerate the learning curve. Single day event you can drive to and from same day to not worry about hotel costs and it's a short drive to get there as well. Not to mention, unlike Nelson, this is a world class facility you'll be driving on with elevation changes, tricky technical sections and a high speed back straight into a downhill heavy braking zone. Mid Ohio is an absolute BLAST to drive and very rewarding when you start to figure it out. Hope to see you all out there. http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.dashboard/uidEvent/BAA602F5-EA7D-98A3-80230B576B5EADED/uidMember/C3713191-F94D-2DF9-09FE940343C06B64 Andy
