motor need work at this point to run again?

997TT made leaps and bounds in both power delivery and ESP on the interior. However Porsche keeps making them softer and heavier. You should at least drive a 997 before making your final impression based just off your 996 drive. But if the Porsche doesn't speak to you then it doesn't. There's no doubt the Z06 is the best bargain in the sports car market

WERD...we pay < $200 a month for full coverage on 4 cars
-
not necessarily, however you are correct about the insurance, they're both Major offenses with your insurance carrier hence viewed in the same light. Thing is no matter if it's a 2 point wreckless (I've pled one down to 2 points before) or a million points your insurance carrier doesn't care, wreckless is wreckless to them. It'll hold you in a non-standard company (higher base rates) 5 years from the date of the ticket. If this is really your 2nd you're already rated in a nonstandard company, if it's your first try to fight it...even excessive speed, no matter how many points, is better than wreckless as your insurance will suffer.

p.s. I was soo upset over the whole deal that it also upset my wife making her think I was also angry at her for the whole situation. Make sure your wife is taken care of and in good health and don't burden her with how upsetting the situation is.

6-7 years ago...10 days after I finished a custom front bumper for my Audi, my wife was hit by an uninsured motorist on her way to work ruining my brand new bumper, fender and some of the hood on that car. At the time of the incident the guy provided an insurance card with his wife's name on it so the cops only cited him for the accident, however we found out days later he was excluded from her policy and they were not going to pay for the damages. This dumb ass even tried to fight getting cited for the incident so we had to go to court for that and even when we presented documentation showing he was not insured at the time of the incident he never got in trouble for it as they stated they couldn't charge him for that after the fact? Long story short I was soo completely upset about it I thought about all of the above, I somewhat stalked him and made calls to him several times but the basic story was he was not able to work (yet he was able to go buy beeer at 7:30 in the morning) and was basically a dead beat, he'd refused to pay us anything and I eventually gave up. Your insurance company will also pursue the individual for damages but in our case they were never able to recover any of their losses hence neither were we. Had they collected in full we would have been given our deductible back, don't expect it though. Your uninsured coverage should have bodily injury as well as property damage so they will cover medical bills to a minimal extent in the event she comes away with any.

So on the origional topic of this thread. ACR viper just set new lap record at the 'Ring for a producction car @ 7:12 http://m.jalopnik.com/5840489/dodge-viper-acr-sets-new-nurburgring-lap-time-of-712and-some-change

This... However, I saw that CLK Black at the gym a few weeks ago and that car is very well done. Size and fitment are excellent on it. Andy

I'm not a huge fan of the bumble bee look, I'd prefer it in solid yellow. However, I really can appreciate what Dodge did in building the ACR / ACRX versions of the current viper. They really are amazing machines. ....most people that own cars intended for and setup for track work (the ones with turns) will probably care less if you pull them from an 80mph roll on the freeway.
-
I drive my track car every day...................... ...that the weather is nice enough that it has no chance of getting wet or dirty

Auto assets has it or something better 793-1050. Open till 4pm

The 1M, Cayman R, and Evora were in a separate class of cars vs the rest. I picked up the magazine the other day and those 3 were testes against each others separate from the rest. Guessing they just had them on hand so threw them in for the heck of it.

Many companies have started moving towards charging you extra if you want OEM parts used in a repair. They offer to sell you an additional option when purchasing your policy if you want them to use OEM parts but if you don't opt to buy that additional option then you have no leverage in saying what parts are used in the repair of your car. ...have to read the fine print on alot more things these days or at least clarify with your agent. Thankfully State farm will still use OEM parts as long as I demand it but don't expect it if you're not up front about it.
-
Nothing wrong with sending business to someone who's treated you right, but to be fair your rate would have been the same with any state farm agent. We've been with State Farm for 13 years, My wife (girlfriend at the time) was hit in the Audi by an Uninsured motorist and we had to handle the claim throug our insurance and they never batted an eye when I demanded the car be fixed by Achbach and that the fender that needed replaced be an OEM fender.

Until this year I had been a customer of Wright-Patt for over 15 years. I've given them what I feel is a really good chunk of business. I could not believe how difficult they made it in this transaction and how exceptionally quick and easy it was to get it done when I finally told them to fly a kite and went elsewhere. I was trying to be loyal to them knowing they didn't have the best rates and they could have given two shits.
-
If you can get in PenFed consistantly has the best rates. F- Wright-Patt, we were customers for years and when we went to purchase the GT3 they made us jump through hoops to approve us on that car. Including requiring me to get an independant appraisal of whatever car I wanted to buy at a cost of $400 to me because they were idiots and couldn't find an acceptable book value for the car. Mind you, my wife and I are both just shy of 800 credit scores. We ended up going with Telhio, I think they're still offering the 2.89% that we got right now..I think we got nabbed for a .25% penalty because the car I was buying was over 5 years old but in the end we're just over 3% and they approved us for the car in 15 minutes. Most painless process I've ever been though. No hassles becasue the car was out of state, super friendly staff. They have earned my business for a long time to come.

If that's in enclosed transport that's a hell of a deal.
-
+1...and likely 2 nights in a hotel. Plus Intercity is completely enclosed transport. The whole gate on the back of the truck flips down so even the lowest cars go on there no problems with out scraping up the undersides of the bumpers, Insides of the trucks are lined with shipping blankets to protect doors as they're opened, cars are covered if they're on the bottom to keep anything from above from dripping on it, etc. Like I said the car was treated like a King. The delivery drivers were great. It was WELL worth the cost in my opinion I just wasnt' fond of how long it took. Porsche used intercity to deliver all of it's carrera GT's from the shipping port to dealer locations.
-
Think it was $1700 ish from Seattle to here....that was like 5 years ago though
-
Intercity lines. Treated the car like a King, they were slow as fuck. 5 weeks to get my car here from Seattle. In all fairness I did purchase around the time of the big Barrett Jackson sale which slowed things down a little but I wasn't notified of delays until after they had my money.

maybe something closer to this is what you need http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.hawkinsspeedshop.com/year-end-blowout-sale/images/153-6000hurst13.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hawkinsspeedshop.com/year-end-blowout-sale/hurst-pistol-grip-shifter-handles-shift-knob-pistol-grip-aluminum-natural-manual-transmission-each.html&usg=__l39KBok-fyjB3eesqPY02P8bEbY=&h=400&w=301&sz=18&hl=en&start=2&zoom=1&tbnid=DsPqrwJqzmcpYM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=93&ei=1P1xTt7CDo6_gQeOsMGOBQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhurst%2BPistol%2BGrip%2Bshift%2Bknob%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26sa%3DN%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1

I think you can get it in annodized aluminum instead of carbon but this is what he had http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2010/klm/2010-Mopar-10-Dodge-Challenger-Hurst-Pistol-Grip-Shifter-1280x960.jpg
-
Go buy a pistol grip shifter for a Challenger and adapt it to fit. One of my customers has one (Hurst I think) on his new Challenger R/T 6-speed. It's got carbon fiber on it instaed of wood or just being metal which I think is a little hokie and when I first got in the car I thought the thing looked horrible and completely out of place... HOWEVER when I drove the car it was the most comfortable and natural feeling shifter I've ever had the pleasure of using.

Next time you're over you're not leaving until you try the French Oak. You'll never buy that JW Black junk again.
