actually - i read it wrong....i thought you said "You're not allowed to ride stolen bikes at the track"....hence why i asked if they check VINs....i fail...i mean, you fail too...just because...but me, more-so

do they check VINs at the track?

first gen vmax.... tons of torque, cheapish, shaft drive so no sprockets or chain or belt to change (change fluid every 17k miles), not the most comfortable bike but with a good seat long rides are doable, and with a couple suspension mods you "could" hit the track....people do race them sometimes, but you wont be setting records....they even make rear-sets and clip ons to help give them a little more of a handling boost....and did i mention a ton of torque?

will be training with iron sights for sure! the light/laser is only staying on it until i pick up my HK45

your bike is slow. sell it and get a 98 gsxr 750.....you will be flying through the traps quicker than your bike can even lift the front wheel, so extensions wont matter.

supposedly the story ended with the guy and the girl at the police station sorting it out....the girl somehow actually did get a title and it was put in her parents name, but the other kid still had original title and keys etc....the car had some fancy motor swapped into it and thats all the kid wanted back - so the girls friends swapped out the motor in the car for some stock motor they had laying around and gave the kid his motor back and let the girl keep the rest of the car....or so thats how i understood it after reading this quote from original thread ""So here is the story my friend nattalie traded her 4 door DA for this DOHC ZC swaped CRX we walk up and see this kid trying to drive off in her car so we were like wtf is going on i jumped infront of the car and yelled stop the ****ing car because we thought it was being stolen. like i said before - i rode it in a few weeks ago and it shifted just fine. i also mentioned that he fixed it by messing with something regarding the shifter, which is why i made my comment about a stock shifter most likely fixing all the shifting/linkage/whatever problems.....youre not very good at this whole reading comprehension thing

yesterday i saw something strange that i thought was illegal here... there was a new chevy (i believe an impala) that had a car pulled over on the opposite side of freeway the car had no markings on it what-so-ever indicating it was a police car....it had a small light bar inside of the car between the visors that was strobing red and blue, and the person in the driver seat was wearing full dress (gray uniform like highway patrol) it even had normal civilian license plates i was always told that unmarked cars cant make traffic stops in ohio, so i looked it up and heres the law So any idea why that car was able to pull somebody over? The only thing i can think is that it says something about an offense punishable by a misdemeanor....so maybe it was a felony stop? like a stolen vehicle or something and the unmarked happened to see it and pulled them over? but if that is the case, dont officers usually have backup on felony stops? and if an unmarked is going to make a felony stop, dont they usually radio for a marked cruiser to make the actual stop? is it possible that the person performing the stop was not an actual police officer? you hear of this happening quite often. if that car tried to perform a stop on me, theres no way i would pull over for them...i would put my flashers on and call the police dept and tell them that an unmarked car is trying to pull me over and ask them to verify it this was on 70 near 270 on the east side...i was going East but the unmarked car and the guy he had stopped were traveling West

ok well the shop that rebuilt the trans broke the hurst shifter and now it has a problem going into gears (i do believe it doesnt go into reverse half the time, unless you mess with the shifter some how...he had it working but his mom drove it and it stopped working, so im sure he probably fixed it back however it was that he had it, but its still not right...hence the comment about buying a stock shifter)...the guy at the shop told him it was the shifter and that if he got the part they would fix it...so if the shifter is broken and the car didnt have problems before then, i would assume it would be a problem with the shifter since it worked perfectly fine before it got damaged.....but hell, youre quick to know it all so i guess theres no way its a shifter problem, guess its just a coincidence that the switch went out at the same time the shifter got damaged, and by messing with something on the shifter it will make the thing work properly and its not "built"....he bought the car and the trans started to slip....he dropped it off to some guy who rebuilt it.... that guy is the one who did everything and just sent david a bill....the guy claims to have added a shift kit, but im assuming its probably a j-mod and he just wanted to charge david extra (j-mod will prolong the life of the trans a little bit aswell, so it is an upgrade worth doing)....the car shifts crisp and hard, so something is done to it....but ease up on him a bit and im not saying that that switch is definitiely not the problem, but to completely dismiss the idea that the shifter being replaced could resolve the problem with no knowledge of the car or ever seeing it is not any better advice than what i posted. so the response "WRONG" isnt really warranted
