  1. fuck it then, too hot to hang out at DTM anyways lol...ill leave yall be, just make sure to post up progress with pics!
  2. ^ ok not to sound like a dick...lol just curious though why youre looking for a padded material for the leg strap? can you still feel stuff on your legs (serious question...not sure how it works not being able to move them)? and perhaps you can have an old bookbag laying around? the shoulder straps on them are padded and if you cut them off you could make them into leg straps fairly easily, the padding will be long enough to cover your legs completely...something simple and cheap
  3. too bad your bike wont be ready for this ride
  4. stories like this make me really think about the risks of riding on the street
  5. ok i will thanks...like i said, for now, it fits ok...just thinking about solutions for the day i get on and it starts blowing around like my hjc did lol
  6. ill look into it thanks, but i think XL is its own shell
  7. guess ill enjoy it while it lasts, and maybe keep it as a winter helmet for when i have my face mask on under it, and just pick up a second one to wear in the summer....ill have to see how it fits when/if my face gets any smaller...currently, it fits me perfectly...hopefully it lasts lol guess it wouldnt be terrible to use as a winter helmet, instead of my old HJC (it got too big also, which is why i bought the shoei to begin with)
  8. i dont want another cheap helmet...i have an HJC that i thought was ok, but after wearing the shoei, its the only helmet ill buy from here out...if i get a new one, it will be another shoei
  9. you shoulda made IP come get you...that place wouldnt even notice the "extra expenses", plus, its not like its your fault their shit broke... the cost of gas to come get you and bring you back, to them, would be equal to me dropping a dime on the ground and being too lazy to pick it up and just leaving it...and i only make $12 an hour!

  10. i wouldnt go that....adding extra fabric to the exterior of the pads isnt causing a safety issue...how do you think they make bigger pads to begin with? add foam, wrap in fabric...
  11. i think HJC uses the same shells for 2 sizes... like L-XL are same shell (not exactly those 2 sizes, just an example..its been awhile since i worked around helmets)...but shoei use different shells for each size...i thought of this already too **edit, nvm...they use 5 shell sizes to cover XXS-XXXL, but it turns out that XL is its own shell size
  12. sadly thats my other option im leaning towards.... i just dont see a big market for used helmets...maybe its just me, im weird about using a helmet that isnt mine or i didnt buy brand new...feels like wearing someone elses underwear which just wouldnt be right to me lol im going to stick it out...i may swing by pony and try on a L and see if the fit seems worth the loss to me..
  13. does it sound plausible to get them wrapped in foam and have more fabric laid over them? like expanding them myself? i would think an upholstery shop would be able to do that for cheap but im not sure
  14. im sure you can get a used engine for a few hundred on craigslist, and just swap it yourself...it cant be that hard to pull the engine on a chain driven bike lol gotta pay to play, and when you wreck, shit happens...goodluck getting it fixed up, but this is what insurance is for.
  15. yea, but i already have the biggest size in my helmet...i already swapped them...the original pads were way off, so i bought the bigger pads
  16. ok guys i have an RF1100 that i just bought in April...ive only put like 500 miles on it ive started a gym membership and better diet and im starting to lose some weight, and currently i have the largest cheek pads available in the helmet and it fits ok, but if i lose any more weight, ill need a size L isntead of XL with how much these damn things cost, ide hate to have to break my bank and buy another one after just buying the one i have... is there any way to shim the cheek pads any more to make it fit more secure? or could i have the pads reupholstered a little thicker, like just have a thin piece of foam wrapped around them and then fabric laid over it? that sounds like it would be ok, but idk where ide have that done lol if anyone has a matte black rf1100 in like new condition like mine, ide be willing to trade!! haha, dont see that happening tho basically, is there anything i can do to avoid spending another $400 on a helmet?
  17. just buy a used engine....youre better off
  18. i still say you all got trolled just now.
  19. shhhh this is the intended result
  20. if you dont tell the story, im going to ban your ass.
