  1. So far, the aftermarket support for these things isnt very good.....right now, this is a good thing lol...it prevents me from spending a bunch of money i dont have....but i already have a small list of things i wanna buy, but cant find any good US based websites to look for stuff....i miss living riding distance of iron pony....so easy to go in there and browse the big catalogs
  2. Who said anything about being better? You're the guy calling people a "fony" and preaching about how unsafe helmets are on the street. lol You mad bro?
  3. Ok, I know this may be a stupid question....But what am I supposed to use to wash and wax my new bike? The paint color is "Matte Grey Metallic"....It's like a matte/satin finish with metal flake in it....Can I use regular car soap and paste waste to clean it up, same as any other bike? I dont wanna put wax on it and have it soak into the color or leave residue etc....I've never owned a vehicle with a matte finish Also, it's got a rubberized area on the tank (like a protector from legs and belt, built in)....What's best to use on this? Some type of leather condition, that special stuff for "black plastic" etc, regular wax? heres a pic of what I'm talking about thats the color, and the piece between seat and top of tank is the rubberized area
  4. I didnt say I advocate helmet laws. Just think you're a fucking retard for not wearing one. And call me "fony" biker all you want, but I wouldn't go on a ride with someone stupid enough to not wear a helmet. Want a hint? Most people here share that sentiment also. Show up for an OR group ride dressed in your jeans and t shirt and wicked awesome sunglasses and you will see. P.S. I probably ride more miles in a week than you do in a month, call me a "fony" all you want, but go ahead and think that over. I'll be out riding while youre at home cleaning oil spots off the garage floor and polishing aluminum to make your bike faster
  5. If you refuse to wear a helmet, good luck finding people here to ride with you. Nobody wants the imagine of your brains plastered on the asphalt. (except maybe MT, but he's a sick twisted little fuck)
  6. Thanks! The z1k was my other prospect... After reading reviews and comparisons, it seemed like the z was winning in power, but the honda in everything else... Decided the honda sounded like the better of the two
  7. I sometimes race my gfs 4cyl altima at stop lights against fast cars. Yea it's slow, but it's consistently slow. Because racer.
  8. I'll have to look into it.. Looks like I can add one.. That would help a ton
  9. I will mention though... This bike doesn't ride as smooth over all, and I definitely would not consider touring on it unless I had plenty of twisties to keep me occupied... It doesn't have the overall comfort of the VFR for a long haul.. But for a daily bike I like it much more... Once it's paid off, I'll be looking for an fjr or similar bike to get as a second bike for longer trips or rides with my gf (unless she's got her bike by then.. She goes back and forth) She hates riding the back of this one.. Complains about the seat being so small
  10. Yea the highway riding is where it gets me. It'll take a little getting used to again, but totally worth it. The bike excels everywhere else that the lack of wind protection is tolerable... Keeps me riding slower too so that's not a bad thing... On the VFR I used to slab 90-100 constantly from boredom (and it did this very smoothly).. This bike is smooth up to 85ish, after that I'll start being bothered by the wind... It still goes plenty fast when I want to, but it's breaking my triple digit habit too, which isn't bad lol.... Keep it in the 80s and I don't notice the wind any worse than the VFR... The VFR was mildly rough on my back, this bike isn't in the slightest.. That was one of the bigger perks
  11. Agree. And a yoshi system. But I'm going to wait awhile... At least until I have a good chunk, if not all of it paid off... This is the most I've spent on any vehicle in my life, going to work on paying it off so I don't have a payment over my head forever... Plus, once it's paid off, I'll have plenty of cash for any mods I want
  12. Slabbing 500 miles on anything less than a goldwing sounds awful... You're a brave man.
  13. Yep! Oil change was a pain on the VFR... I'm looking forward to easy wrenching now lol
  14. The other side of the bike?
  15. Biggest thing I like is all the torque.. This thing pulls like crazy... It doesn't have the top end like a cbr1k,but honestly, without the wind protection you don't need that top end anyways... This bike pulls strong at any speed and any gear... 6th gear at 50mph around town and you crack it open and it'll go... Now I understand how people with big naked bikes can go on rides and be fast and never have to leave 6th gear... This bike feels so smooth... Feels like the VFR when it hit vtec, but all the time... It's definitely not the fastest or more powerful.. But it feels perfect for street riding
  16. I think it's cool you have something you're so passionate about... What I meant in my first post is that you kept mentioning going fast, not bracket racing, and doing it cheap... I was simply saying it's not realistic to go fast for cheap on that bike and if fast was your goal and you're really as broke as you say, something else would be a better platform
  17. Thanks! Brian, the seating position is way more comfortable.. The bike is almost the same weight but it "feels" a ton lighter, most of the weight is centered low... It's extremely narrow... It actually reminds me a lot of riding a dirt bike Only time it's less comfy is slabbing over 90mph...But keep it in the 80s and it's fine... The seat is slightly less comfy when it comes to material and padding, but I don't slide around on it like I did the VFR, so that's a wash in my opinion
  18. Also going to leave it bone stock and focus on paying it off... Hopefully it'll be mine free and clear by tax season, then I'll have plenty of cash for a yoshi system, pc, and fender elim
  19. Thanks guys, definitely like this bike. Insurance rates are on par with a supersport... Lame. Lol I'll get better pics eventually, but you get the idea... I couldn't get good pics because the headlight was washing out my camera, and I couldn't shut it off because they left the key on and killed the battery and had to jump it just so I could get home.. Fail. It's an hour drive though so it had plenty time to charge
  20. ...hello CB1000R!! got a brand new 2012 leftover cb1000r tonight. first impressions: i miss the wind protection of vfr, but nothing else! the motor is more smooth, feels way more powerful, even in 6th gear roll ons....WAY more comfortable, handles worlds better....i really couldnt be happier with it
  21. Always crate unattended dogs! Before I did, my dog ate the strap off of one of my riding boots.
  22. Those shrooms had to have been laced. I've never had the urge to rip my dick off while tripping.... Although, one time, I legit thought my head was exploding because I was laughing too hard lol
