  1. I'm 90% sure that I can get out of work tomorrow and ride to SEO. I'll be taking 83S, and coming back north on 800. There will be lots of twisties in between. I'll be leaving the Cleveland area early and will be back before 5.
  2. If I am reading this right, it sounds like you are 'crossed up.' If you draw a line through the center of the bike, your head, shoulders, & hips should all be leaning inside of that line while cornering. It sounds like you are leaning outside of that line, which is a mistake that many poeple make. It should look something like this:

    AR50 fs

Where around here can you fire this beast? btw, the only .50BMG I've fired was this
  4. 555 is very twisty, but has poor sight lines, lots of blind hills, and the pavement is sketchy at best. Kind of like 536, it's worth riding once just to say you did, but there are more entertaining roads in the area. Also like 536, 555 has a high frequency of bikes going down. When I am down that way, I make a point to ride 550 and 377 (which both cross 555) and skip 555 entirely. Of course this is just my opinion. YMMV.
  5. I dragged pegs about 20 times on a short ride on Monday. Only difference, is I was taking curves about 35 mph. Oh and the pegs were actually floorboards, and I was on a HD Fatboy with no effing ground clearance. The obvious solution is not to ride obsolete equipment ever again
  6. Update: 555 is the most over rated road in Ohio. Carry on.

  8. If I could only have 1 bike, the Ninja 1000 w/hard bags would probably be it. With the MTS 1200 you pay a lot, but you get a lot.
  9. If you get a Multistrada, I suspect the Street Glide will do a lot of sitting in the garage. Justsayin.

  11. The Blast is a good bike for it's intended use...beginners and commuting. It has simple mechanicals and is relatively bulletproof. You'd likely be underwhelmed if you're used to riding a proper sportbike.
  12. ^^^ If it wasn't for the KTM day, I wouldn't have gotten on a track.
  13. Can't ride Sunday. GF's birthday...drinking...food...etc.
  14. I think you would do fine in Intermediate.
  15. Pretty much. Mid Ohio is a fun track with nice technical corners. The RC8R is really good. No. As you can see in the video by the instructor gapping me, I didn't quite have the fast line nailed in all the corners Honestly, I was probably carrying just about the same corner speed as on some of the faster sections of a WV or SEO ride. I did manage to break 135mph a few times on the back straight, which is not pushing hard on an RC8R. That bike could have easily broken 150 or 160 on the back straight, but I wasn't taking any chances on hucking it into the grass on turn 7. I still happen to have the Mid-O Superbike race on my DVR. Now, I can appreciate how just how hard & fast the pros really ride
  16. Cool, thanks. What group would you sign up for if you go the 31st?
  17. Cool! Video quality is better than I expected. That's the first time I've seen footage of myself riding.
  18. The stuff I used in my truck bed had TONS of grip, it was like sandpaper. It wasn't Herculiner, it was another one. Sorry can't remember the actual brand name, beer must have killed that part of my memory.

  20. Thanks. I wound up selling that Triumph on eBay a couple years ago. I benefitted from a small scale bidding war. A guy drove from Maine to pick it up. Said he just had to have it
  21. Whitewalls look fine as long as you have spoked wheels. While I'm mostly a sport guy. I've owned more than a few cruisers, including this custom Triumph: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=A72FD56056E6DDD9&id=A72FD56056E6DDD9%21198&sc=photos#cid=A72FD56056E6DDD9&id=A72FD56056E6DDD9%21200&sc=photos
  22. Whenever I pass a bike with ape hangers, usually mutter something like 'what a douchebag.' I just think it's a mod for posers. Kind of like a hand shifter, a hardtail, or an ext. swingarm on a sportbike that will never see a dragstrip. Other than for poser reasons, why mod a bike to make it less rideable?
