  1. Same. Timing isn't right just yet, but I am wanting a floating drinking/fishing/recreation/party platform.
  2. Agree. My smallest carry rigs are the ones that get the most use (by far). In fact, I carry one of these quite a bit. It a 5 shot .22 mag and more accurate that you would imagine.
  3. The SR series has an unusual (not in a good way) trigger pull. Reviews will mention it. I briefly owned a SR45 and could not adjust to it or shoot it nearly as accurately as other pistols.
  4. The Sec 9 would be a better range toy. The others are less fun to shoot, but easier to carry.
  5. I could list about 10 reasons that track doesn't interest me, but there's no point. I just doesn't. Riding has never been about being competitive for me. Shaving seconds in 20 minute bursts, doesn't check my boxes. The thought of endurance racing was mildly appealing at one time...but there's zero chance of me actually buying a race bike, trailer, or going through the process of becoming eligible to race. There's an interesting shitting story here though:
  6. Track just didn't do it for me. I just did the one track day. It seemed like a lot of sitting around with little seat time. Afterwards, I remember thinking I felt like going for a long ride. Also, I really don't want to prep for the track, or trailer there, or spend time/money on mods, or wrench on it afterwards. I barely have interest in putting my riding gear on now for a street ride, I'm certainly not going to do all that to get some seat time. I have no plans to sell the CB500X, but isn't getting much action. I almost bought a new Street Triple 765 RS, but I don't want to be one of those guys with a 3 year old bike with no miles on it. Life's been really good overall, I'm just really not sure what's next in motorcycling. I've been looking into boats
  7. I used to ride every chance I got. Cold, wet, hot...didn't matter, If it was possible I was out riding. I'd do a 500 mile solo ride if no one else was riding For the past 3 or 4 seasons I'm finding that riding has become less and less interesting for me. This year I've really only ridden twice, once was the Gap trip. I've kind of been grasping at different things to re-spark my interest. Bought a V Star, got bored sold it. Bought a HD Street Rod, got bored sold it. Bought an Audi A4, got bored sold it. Sold the VFR1200. I started getting interested in ADV riding, but I haven't done too much of it...no ADV rides so far this year. Now, I just have the CB500X, which is a fun bike, but it mostly just sits. Not sure what's next...
  8. Some of the early ABS systems on motorcycles were total shit. I had an 2008 SV650 with abs that was absolutely dangerous. It wouldn't lock up, but it also wouldn't stop you in certain situations. It was not confidence inspiring. I had a 2000 BMW R1100R with abs that were...meh. I had a 2010 VFR1200 and 2010 CBR600RR that had Honda's excellent C-ABS. Those bikes had more braking skills that I did...but I could out brake the ABS on the Suz and BMW....easily. Current generations of ABS are even better than what I had on the Hondas.
  9. Every internet argument until they meet in real life
  10. The need is asap. I don't think the Crown would work. The Camry might, any history on the rebuilt title though?
  11. Looking in the $4-5k range for reliable transportation for an 18 y/o student. Requirements are: automatic, not a rust bucket or money pit, decent mpg would be a bonus. Something like a Civic would be a good choice.
  12. The only truly bad ammo I've ever came across was some kind of surplus eastern European 9mm tracer ammo from the cold war. They were on stripper clips and had a greasy feel to them. By the look of them they were not stored in proper conditions. A few of them fired, but I'd have been better off throwing them at a target.
  13. I've heard not to bother with ammo that comes from countries where you'd be afraid to drink the water.
  14. https://www.propublica.org/article/the-myth-of-drug-expiration-dates https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/sell-and-best-dates-food-are-basically-made-hard-get-rid-180950304/ And don't forget to change your oil every 3,000 miles. Because companies that exist to make profits would never attempt to trick you into spending more of your money to increase those profits.
  15. ^^ Hates hearing counter points...so get sarcastic as a defense mechanism.
  16. Probably? If it was stored in reasonable conditions, the propellant and primer should be fine. If powder wasn't burning you'd have a really dirty firearm, and cycling failures.
  17. That's not quite the same conversation as storing in a sealed box in a safe. ...if you dropped ammo in a river then I expect it's shelf life to be reduced.
  18. In a sealed ammo can it might outlive you. You could even get crazy and add a desiccant.
