    05 600rr stuff

I am interested in the Corbin seat. Do you still have it?
  3. Nice ploy on the USPS and the internets and possibly the google. They raised prices and would be profitable without the subsidy. That is more than I can say for the farm subsidies we regularly spend far more on. Also, they might have had to increase the price on a stamp because volume has fallen which you seem to acknowledge. This is not new in business and happens all the time. The eventual conclusion to volume continuing to fall is complete failure of the business or bankruptcy. That's great. What happens to those people who need to send a real letter and cannot get ANY kind of decent internet access. Check some rural areas and ask them what their internet options look like. Again, it is simple to bring out the strawman arguments. It is not so simple to completely remove the USPS from a service which UPS and FedEx have proven unwilling to service. In that respect it is very similar to health insurance companies refusing to cover people with a pre-existing condition which may or may not be completely out of that person's control. So you cannot refute my relative's Canadian Healthcare experience? I don't see any attempt to refute my assertions. We pay 7% sales tax now. Double that and I would actually get somewhat competent healthcare without the wait and without the "death panels?" You do realize that Toyota recently built a factory in Canada instead of Alabama? Their stated reasons where that the Alabamans where too stupid to train and that the healthcare cost reductions provided by Canada were too compelling to ignore. Looks like the free market system at work except that it is dependent upon the Gov providing healthcare and thus taking that load away from private industry. That sounds like a good thing for industry for me.
  4. OMG.........ONOZ...........OMG..........ONOZ...... The new world order!!!! OMG.......ONOZ.........OMG........ONOZ....... You kill me... This is the kind of stupid shit that happens when people believe, with no real basis in reality, that their advantage in the world will be removed. Make no mistake, this will happen. In fact parts of the US with the "creation" obsession will fall further behind the rest of the world. This one fact will put the US further behind than anything else because no scientist wants to have to explain to the "slow" person that we have essentially vetted this question.
  5. What has exploded since 1991.... hmmm.... maybe... maybe the INTERNETS have exploded since then? Maybe that has SOMETHING to do with the reduction in revenue? Nothing ever occurs in a vacuum and your 1991 to now target just reveals your bias. How many letters were not sent because of email? I bet that number has increased since 1991 and I am sure you would agree if you would allow yourself to be reasonable and make cogent arguments instead of the heretical crap you espouse here.
  6. You sir are full of it. I have 20 + relatives in Canada on my wife's side. One of them recently (within the past 1.5 years) got diagnosed with cancer. Her wait for ANYTHING was nonexistant. She got top class treatment for over 1 year. The cancer that she was diagnosed with is almost 100% deadly. Guess what? She received treatment with no wait including treatment from top notch cancer facilities that were not right next to her house. Oh, BTW. She was 75 years old when diagnosed. Kind of throws water on your "be over 25 and get sick and you will die!!!!" propoganda doesn't it? You won't get it and will tell me that I am wrong, but I have the real life info. Not your teabagger speculation.
  7. jhaag is right. Read your policy. I am an instructor with NASA for 4 wheeled track events and the insurance companies have gotten smart about this. Most auto policies state that you are not covered "on a racing surface." This WILL be included in the language on a motorcycle policy now or in the near future. It may be there already and if it isn't it WILL. Either way, if you get them to pay a claim and they know where it happened, you will probably be dropped at the next renewal. This crap has been happening on the car side for awhile and some companies have filled the void for track insurance at a reasonable cost. The rule for track driving (and the reason I don't drive a Z06) is that if you can't afford to walk away from it, you can't afford to take it on track. All the talk about "fell off the trailer" is insurance fraud. Insurance fraud is serious and if caught you would be in serious trouble. Some insurance companies send people to take pictures at tracks. This is rare, but the evidence of your track day is all over the net through multiple photographers and your insurance company MAY check it out. I see this all the time with my students at the track. Kids with leased EVOs, WRXs and S2000s. When these kids gets fast enough they usually learn that it costs to play and move into a cheaper race car. Those that don't learn will end up owing on a car that they can no longer drive. In the cars, the first several times on track are the safest as they are going the slowest. Self preservation instincts take over and keep the speeds slow, but with experience comes speed and the danger increases exponentially. Just be careful and READ your policy carefully as almost every insurance company excludes coverage on a "racing surface" anymore. Also, do not engage in insurance fraud as that could put you in jail for awhile and that is no fun. As far as injury is concerned the general rule is that everyone assumed the risk and covers themselves. If you blatantly put someone into the wall they may decide to come after you. If you drop oil that someone wrecks on, then that is part of the assumed risk deal. In the car world if you absolutely caused the damage because of a boneheaded move in a driver education event then you should help defray the costs to the best of your ability. However, everyone on track assumed the risk and sometimes shit happens and nobody is at fault. This is more of an honor thing and is dealt with between the people involved at the driver education level. To the OP your agent can fight for you with your insurance company but obviously those conversations have not gone well. I would discontinue all discussions with that agent and read your policy as it most likely excludes any accident on a "racing surface." Look into alternate insurance if you don't want to take the risk as they are already telling you that they will not cover you and nobody organizing the event will convince them to cover you. This used to be covered but the insurance companies have paid out too much and are clamping down on this claim in a big way. This is not to discourage you from a track event. You absolutely should do one on the bike AND in your car as it will make you better. However, you should not assume that your insurance company will cover you no matter what the organizer of the event says.
  8. I bought these from newenough as well. I love them and think they offer a good deal more protection than the SP2 I use for a backup glove.
  9. Maybe my post was somewhat overboard. I will concede that it was so i am going to try to ignore your post as I would hope that you ignore mine.
  10. I lived in New York City during the time of this alert. Since you were in Columbus I understand your lack of interest. However, the rest of us who lived in a REAL city were worried by this. Trust me, we REACTED and we were worried. I do understand that you and your friends were not worried as you live in the flyover county...
  11. Anybody have any opinions on this comparison? Both are the same price. I am coming from the A* SMX-2 boot so this will be my first "real" boot. I like the A* smx-2 but wish I would have bought a real race/sport boot. Anybody have any opinion on this comparison? Seems to me that the Sidi is superior but I haven't ridden with either and am looking for opinions... Thanks in advance.
  12. I'm originally from Wheeling and I concur that Columbus sucks for driving/riding roads. Head southeast or northeast and consider heading to WV for something fun. After growing up in the Valley the only thing that comes close for me is track time (in the car currently as I have far too much money invested to prep the bike right now, but eventually I will be there.) Get used to the lack of roads. Remember to get excited at the 35mph corner sign as that constitutes a good corner in this town...
  13. If this is the same guy, I can only say wow and sadly I am not surprised.

    Bike for $250

Glad you found your phone. Bike is SOLD!! Good luck with it Mike
  15. Thanks for the info!! I definitely like the bag and since it appears it has no mounting issues then it moves back to the top of my list. Thanks again!
  16. How do you like the mounting system for this? My only concern is the shock cord mounting with those plastic hooks. My bike has a fender eliminator so I am unsure how the mount will work. It certainly seems to have enbough space and I almost bought it at pony this weekend, just still unsure.
  17. I saw this at iron pony but am concerned with the mounting system as my bike has a fender eliminator and those shock cord straps concern me compared to something that mounts under my passenger seat. This bag seems to have good space and seems perfect except for the fact that the mounting system is a concern on my bike. Anyone have experience with this on a sport bike?
  18. Any particular reason why? I have never had any luggage before so I don't know the pros and cons. My bike has a plastic tank cover so the magnetic ones won't work unless I glue magnets underneath the plastic and I am not sure about how strapping it down would work on my bike.
  19. That looks like it would be great, but I am not sure how much it would actually hold. I am not planning any cross country rides but need to get rid of this backpack for anything other than commuting.
  20. I need some storage for longer rides as I am very tired of carrying the backpack for these trips. I have looked at the cortech at pony and am not sure how the straps would work with my fender eliminator on my 600rr. I have seen the Joe Rocket tail bag that will fit a helmet and thought that it might work well for my bike. Anybody have other ideas and direct experiences?
  21. I have checked and cannot find the info on this class on the motrcycle ohio website. They only list the west broad dept of public safety location. Is there some site I am missing? Thanks

    Bike for $250

Here are the pics. The pics make it look better than it really is. Remember that this bike is crap. No you cannot ride it home. Battery is dead. All previous disclaimers apply. http://picasaweb.google.com/matt.montes/1986YamahaRadian# Sorry about the mess. Moving the race car around the bikes and making room to work on all of it.

    Bike for $250

Do you really care what it is? Ok. 1986 Yamaha Radian 600 with 20k. Has been repainted at some point by a previous owner. All references to Radian are gone. Has a D&D exhaust. Also comes with batting to quiet it down. Needs a carb rebuild or thorough cleaning, not sure which it is yet. Battery at least needs charged or replaced, probably replaced. Last on the road in 2006. Has been down a few times and cosmetically isn't in perfect shape if you couldn't tell by the price, but it has a clean title. New tires in 2006 and not much mileage on them since then, under 1000 miles. I will update this post with pics tomorrow sometime. Plugs are good but the bowls are leaking gas down on the motor... They need a rebuild or at least they need taken off and cleaned completely. Probably need new needle valve seats for the bowls at least. Doesn't leak any oil at all. Seat has a tear in it. Please come and get it. It was going to be my pit bike for Mid Ohio as I race a miata but I haven't fixed it yet and it has been almost a year. Not gonna get to it soon so I figured I would let it go. DISCLAIMER!! This bike is junk. It doesn't look new. Squids have dropped it multiple times. It WILL get you in trouble with your HOA. It NEEDS a battery. It NEEDS carb attention. You CANNOT ride it today without a battery and carb work. It DOES NOT leak any oil. The forks DO NOT leak. BUT the bike DOES need work. For christ's sake it only costs $250. I SHOULD keep it for a pit bike at Mid Ohio since they banned non-licensed vehicles. It WOULD make a great cafe project. Pictures coming...
