  1. 65% more drama here than the average movie. Great thread.
  2. That sucks. Glad you are basically ok. Those cruisers are dangerous machines.
  3. Welcome. You are practically a neighbor of mine by OR standards. Most of the group rides for the area start in Bolivar or Millersburg (which are respectively about 50 & 75 miles away from you, 80 & 63 for me) & head south). Yesterday's ride started in Millersburg & ended up being about 470 miles total (about 350 miles of the twisty stuff) for me. Hope to see you on the road.
  4. Great ride. I needed that. Thanks for the invite & thanks for leading Derek. Nice to meet you & do some riding Brian.
  5. You lucky dog. My commute is rush hour I-480 & I-71. The only turns are of the rolling chicane variety.
  6. Confirming. See you in the AM.
  7. Come ride with us fools tomorrow. I hear the weather's supposed to be sunny & in the 80s.
  8. The weather forecast for Saturday looks good. I'll see you then.
  9. Derek- Very sorry for your loss of your brother. I will meet up with you in Millersburg for the ride Saturday. Where in Millersburg? Kickstands up at 9:00? Looks like a great route. Jim
  10. For me quality miles start about 50 miles south of where I live. Riding to work & droning the superslab, meh.
  11. You need the extra torque so that front wheel comes up real easy. Like the time my sister in-law talked me into giving her a ride on the 1000rr. Seriously... Consider a Ducati Monster.
  12. Less than some, more than many. Quality over quantity preferred here though.
  13. Hopefully this summer Tony. Let me know if you're headed that way. You've got to get out more Andy.
  14. Back from WV now. Saturday night I ended up camping at Tea Creek campground in the Cranberry Wilderness off WV 150. Beautiful country down there. Lots of black bears though. I didn't see any but I heard one fairly close by when I was trying to sleep. Spent most of Sunday visiting with my Sister near Cross Lanes & rode home yesterday. 1,016 miles total. My route included OH 9, OH 148, WV 20, WV 15, US 219, WV 150 (straight but worth it for the view). WV 39, more of WV 20, WV 60, WV 16, OH 260, OH 78, OH 83. Road conditions were generally good except for about 15 miles of the northern section of WV 20 had hundreds of scarfed up rectangular patches that had yet to be filled in. The switchback sections of WV 60 are great fun.
  15. Harley's are ok as long as nobody makes me ride one. Oh, I almost forgot, Harley tried that in the 1980s, but only forced me onto a 750 that was short stroked by Yamaha to 700cc to avoid the 49% tariff.
  16. Welcome to the forum. The nearest good roads are south of Millersburg & around Coshocton. Better roads are South of I70 & East of I77. Hang around on here long enough & we'll get you out on some group rides south. The MSF course is a good place to start.
  17. Heading down that way next weekend. Looks like a decent campground. Thanks.
  18. Does anybody have any recommendations for primitive (or not) motorcycle camping in Monongahela National Forest near Elkins, West Virginia?
  19. I have decided that if I start having a problem with conventional weights I will try the beads.
  20. Fun ride Tony & James. Thanks for helping out with the completion of my break-in procedure on the Ninja. Tony- I thought you were behind me when I exited for the last gas up. I made it 158 miles before my reserve blinker came on. I may have made it home on fumes but I didn't want to try.
  21. Having owned a cbr 250 until recently I would like to point out that on such a bike you must rely on the kindheartedness of any driver you decide to overtake. Good for commuting but not as your only bike or for sport riding imho.
  22. See ya Sunday. Traffic is usually lighter on Sunday as well.
