  1. If I was to get a new Harley somebody just shoot me!
  2. You're asking for advice: Never (Never) get rid of the bike. Watch the budget. Don't crash the bike because that will ruin the budget.
  3. Got word back from Smitty at sportbiketrackgear. He says he could get me an Alpinestars Tech 1-R or $1189 but that's a little over my budget so I'm still in the market. I won't be needing leathers tomorrow or next week or next month or anything unless a good deal comes up. Thanks again for the advice.
  4. Thanks guys. I just sent an email of digruntlement to sportbiketrackgear on this. Got to wait till tomorrow to see if they will make good or loose a regular customer. I'll post back tomorrow.
  5. I thought I got a good deal on an Alpinestars suit from Sportbiketrackgear. $1399 for $1000 closeout special. Ordered it last night, my size available in all colors, according to their website at the time. Tonight when I got home I've got an email from them asking me if I'd like another color because the color I chose was out of stock. A look at their website tonight tells me that all colors are sold out in my size. Long story short: I need some decent leathers (size 56 euro, 46 US) & I think these guys are trying to bait & switch me. Any suggestions?
  6. Thanks much for the ride offers r1crusher & redkow97. Guess I'll just take note & try to set something up when the season is near or here. It is only January after all. Maybe I should throw a cover over my bike in the garage so I don't have to see it every day of the winter.
  7. I've flashed my lights before but people these days seem to be oblivious anyhow. In my locale if you're going less than 15 over all you've got to do is take your foot off the gas when you see a patrolman & they'll give you a pass. I guess they figure that there are bigger fish to fry in the barrel. (Just stay in the 85 percentile unless you're riding a fast bike, then go for it unless they've got your plate already.) Ohio is great. Seattle sucks (6mph over & you're paying $190).
  8. Anybody else in the Cleveland area interested. When plans firm up I'm interested in getting to the track & I don't have a truck or trailer. If anybody has room on theirs ($$) or if anyone wants to go in on a uhaul or ryder I'm interested. I did a couple days at mid ohio last year by riding there & I've sort have lost my nut for riding to trackdays.
  9. I have about a 1/300,000,000 share in the best guns ever made but I don't have much say in how they're used. The small ones I don't bother with any more.
  10. I've got a Yosh R77 full system on my CBR. I like it a lot. Only added about 4 HP at top end but gave me lot's more low down. Apparently Arnold doesn't like it. Glad I'm not a Californicator.
  11. Cruisers are ok. I'm just glad they're not a mandate. You guys have some nice ones & I've ridden a few but I'm just not ready for that.
  12. Good luck with that. Hope you don't end up dead.
  13. Welcome to the site. Nice choice of bike.
  14. I haven't felt silly yet & I'm 52. Love the look on the cop's face & the change in his demeanor when I take my helmet off. Welcome to the site.
  15. How's he fit those big brass balls in that little kayak & doesn't it affect the bouyancy?
  16. So the moral to the story is: Don't be an ass & tailgate. Don't be an ass & camp out in the passing lane with your cruise control on going maybe 1 or 2 mph faster than traffic in the right lane. Dont be an ass & try to exact revenge when you meet another ass (Although you claim not, I do believe your pants are on fire. Can you honestly say that you still would have made such an abrupt, last second lane change if there was no one behind you.) When driving in the USA I come up behind someone such as you I simply put on my right signal, give a wide berth & pass on the right. If I'm driving in Europe & I'm coming up on someone in the passing lane I simply put on the left turn signal & they get the hell out of the way with no hard feelings. Drive (ride) with logic not emotion. It's safer & less people will think you're an ass.
  17. I've been running 55s on my CBR for 3 sets now. The change was positive with quicker turn ins as said. They will give you about 3% taller gearing than stock though. Going down a tooth in front with the tire change will give you about 3% shorter gearing than stock.
  18. I went out for about a 60 mile putt today. With road temps cool & salt water plentiful it was only a putt & not a ride though. (It did help a bit with the P.M.S.) Now I'm waiting for the bike to cool before I take the hose to it. Happy New Year.
  19. Does not compute. Been in a good working relationship with my best friend & wife for 30+ years now. Good luck on dealing with your strange perceptions.
