  1. That's out in the Seattle, WA area.
  2. I'll keep an eye out for your ride. I was on WV16 last year & it was quite fun.
  3. I would suggest US35, US119, SR32, I81,SR71,US441,SR28 to Robbinsville NC. At least thats the way I went last time. US 119 is like the West Virginia Autobahn (No LEOs, no traffic & 4 lanes winding thru the hills. Fun riding but you can accumulate some miles real quick. Have fun.
  4. That's just goofy. Trailblazers are the biggest POS known to man then you spend over $1000 to customize it. I never cease to be amused by this stuff.
  5. Welcome to the site. Since you now aren't forced to do the 2 up thing this opens up a whole new world of possibilities to you. My wife also rides & didn't start till she was 46 years old. She started off on a Suzuki S40 (650cc single cylinder cruiser). This was a nice bike to start off on but after the 2nd season the pegs started to scrape so she moved up to a Ducati Monster 696. Good luck.
  6. Welcome to the site Strongsvillian.
  7. Welcome to the site. Hope to see you in twisties or at the track sometime. You're doing the right thing taking the MSF course. Keep an open mind in there. It might seem boring being in the parking lot & all but it's a great starting point.
  8. Welcome to the site. I'll be in your neighborhood repeatedly as soon as it gets warm. I used to live in Marietta back in the day (1984-1987). Did engineering for a place called Kardex Systems out in Reno.
  9. Welcome to the forum. My wife's bike is a 696 Monster. Hope you enjoy the bike & hook up with some Ohio Riders to ride with.
  10. Thanks. I'll be signed up in the next day or 2 & cross my fingers for no rain. Although I hear track riding in the wet builds character.
  11. Good god. This is how fucked up laws get passed.
  12. Can we get a quantity discount for Mid Ohio June 6th & 7th? Whoever is knowledgeable about this let us know. Otherwise I'm just going to pay up & show up.
  13. I can't recommend plugging for fear of litigation it but I've ridden probably 4,000 miles on plugged tires & have reached speeds with the plugs that certainly wouldn't be recommended by anyone. What's the worst that could happen? The plug falls out & your tire slowly deflates. (Provided it was a very small hole in the first place & you didn't open it up too far installing the mushroom plug.) You feel the tire start to feel a little low & you pull over, put another plug in & ride home to install a new tire. I figure my chances of having my tire go kaboom & maim me from a plug falling out are probably much less than that of deer, tractors, gravel, or Amish wagons, etc, etc, etc getting the best of me. I'll probably get flamed from the do-gooders for this, but this is just my experience with the subject.
  14. Now you won't have to suffer the Katana kurse anymore. One of the things I remember that was fun on my 03 RR was taking it up to about 50 to 55 in 1st, dipping the throttle then wot. First bike I had that would bring up the front end without the clutch. Have fun & keep safe.
  15. I had the exact same bike from '03 thru '07. Even the same color. Put about 30,000 miles on it. Great bike, no problems. You should be able to expand your abilities on it over the Katana. Good luck.
  16. Buying a cbr 600 isn't the worst thing you could do. It will definitely put you in the here & now much more so than the 250. Good luck.
  17. Stay loose on the bike & listen to the instructors & you'll have no problems.
  18. No, I'm not real cozy with being pulled over by leo just because I'm riding a motorcycle. Is it just my imagination or can anyone else see a trend here? It's not 1984 anymore George O.
  19. One way to make sure you won't get a ticket for running a stuck red light: Look in all directions & make sure there are no police in the immediate vicinity before proceeding.
  20. Welcome to Ohio Riders. I used to live in Marietta years ago. Nice roads in the area. Post up when you decide to host a group ride out of Woodsfield. I'll be there. (Woodsfield is the first place I ever got pulled over by a leo on a bike. It was something about a call in for a bike passing on the double yellow before it got into town. It certainly wasn't me (not) so I was free to go. Welcome.
  21. Winter in OH sucks. I've got PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrom). Summer in FL sucks + all the roads are strait. OH is the lesser of the evils for me.
  22. Glad to hear you had a good first outing. Hopefully you'll have some more. Hope to see you on the track in or around Ohio sometime.
