  1. The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Cpl. Jacob A. Tate, 21, of Columbus, Ohio, died Jan. 2 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

    RIP Brother.

  2. I've never shot at Blackwing. My dad has bought a couple guns there and he got some free range time but forgot to use it. I've been in there and seems like a good place. I usually just shoot at my parents or at some OR member's houses.

  3. Hey Dale!

    Glad you found the site.

You will feel right at home here, there are as many gun threads are there are motorcycle threads!

This is the truth! Seems like more and more gun threads lately.

Anyways, welcome to the site. You should fit in real well here... as long as you offer an ohio riders discount at your store...specifically on an M&P.40....jussayin'

  4. fyi.. even if it was a worlf hybrid.. its not illegal to own one..

actually in ohio you can own a pure bred wolf. it is classified as a canine as of the 1990's

    I'm gonna buy me a wolf. :D

Isn't there something about the venison you buy from a store isn't as good as the stuff you'd get from a hunter? I had a buddy give me a big stick of it for christmas. Throw it on a ritz cracker with some pepper jack cheese and you got a great snack.

  5. Don't forget about the Castle Doctrine eggs.

Sec 2925.05 (B)(1) Subject to division (B)(2) of this section, a person is presumed to have acted in self defense or defense of another when using defensive force that is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm to another if the person against whom the defensive force is used is in the process of unlawfully and without privilege to do so entering, or has unlawfully and without privilege to do so entered, the residence or vehicle occupied by the person using the defensive force.
  6. Nice thread' date=' Chevy. The only thing I would like to add, if it hasn't been addressed already, is that carrying a gun for protection is a very serious responsibility. It doesn't end with keeping your finger off the trigger, making sure your weapon is clean/functional, using a quality holster, etc. If you are going to carry a gun for defense, load it with premium defense rounds. Round nose bullets are not for personal defense. Carrying a weapon for defense that is loaded with target ammunition is irresponsible.

I won't get into why you should carry a round chambered, because that's definitely a personal choice that won't affect anyone but yourself if the need for drawing/shooting presents itself. I will say that in a DFE it's probably a lot safer to draw and click the safety than it is to draw and rack a slide. This all depends on how you exercise and train with your weapon.

Very good point IP. I think I have some literature expanding on this subject. I'll see if I can find it later.
