  1. The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation New Dawn.

Sgt. David J. Luff Jr., 29, of Hamilton, Ohio, died Nov. 21 in Tikrit, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

  2. Whoa, this thread is back?

I was going to get a shotgun for home defense, but went revolver instead.

Have any of you shot a shotgun inside a home? I would think you'd lose your hearing permanantly, along with everyone else in your family.

Better lose my hearing for a while than my life. And I'd grab both the shotgun and the pistol. Unless you are shooting a .22 it's gonna be loud no matter what.

Kawi- Never shot a 500 but my understanding is it isn't much different from the 870. Keep your eyes open for deals, I got mine for $240.

  3. One of my favorite camp foods is breakfast. The problem, though, is how to cook eggs without bringing a pan. Easy. Oranges. Cut an orange in half. Eat the inside. Use the empty half bowl looking peel. Crack an egg, pour into the peel. Scramble it if you want. Set the peel and egg on some hot coals. In just a few minutes, you have an egg for breakfast with a hint of orange. It's good. Real good.

Never thought of that. Have you done this or just what you've read?

    McDonald's drive thru. Done.

    +1 Mc D's breakfast rocks!!

  4. congrats! This must be baby season. Two friends of mine had their babies this week also. :)
    Valentines sex!

You should have seen it 9 months after my unit got back from Iraq. I think the base population almost doubled.

  5. People suck. I'm a huge dog lover, I can't even comprehend that.

The world needs a vigilante to take care of the vermin.

Are you talking about someone like Sweeney Todd?

There's a hole in the world like a great black pit

and it's filled with people who are filled with shit!

And the vermin of the world inhabit it!

  6. I'll see how many replies there are and have my 9 year old choose a number between 2 - the last post, then match that number to the post.

IF it turns out it's r6Brent71, Jr. will choose another number...

Yes, the "ballot box" could be "stuffed". Matters not to me. Enter once, enter 20 times, no biggie. I figured too many rules would go against the ORdN philosophy, so...

Well I'd better get to posting more often in this thread.

  7. The Mrs. and I will be there but not until after the Blue Jackets game.

I think you should be there for all of the party. It is an Or event. I'll PM you with my address so you can send me the tickets. :D

  8. I would much rather drive than fly anyways. Driven from Ohio to Cali 3 times. Once with a fully loaded truck and 6x12 cargo trailer. It was a blast. I avoid flying at all costs. Not because I am scared of a suicide bomber or because I am scared of flying, just that I hate the security crap and having to deal with all the weirdos.

But yeah, those scanners are BS for all the reasons previously stated.

  9. Article says the womans, sons, uncle told him?? Too many people saying stuff so until the police release it, I dont hold much faith in the news article.

Unfortunately I doubt they will be found alive at this point but that article has to many he said, she said in it for me.

The uncle is a retired cop. The crime scene was turned over to him. He is active in this investigation.
