  1. Like using a 5 pound sledge hammer to drive a finish nail. I personally know someone that bought a 2001 F-250 Super Duty 4X4 power stroke and has highway tread tires on it, and rarely hauls more than himself in it. Why did he buy such a truck? Beacuse it' sbig and heavy duty, so it should hold up better and last longer, and diesel fuel was cheaper, and better fuel economy at the time. Is that the case? Not at all!!!! He's considering a small truck, such as the OP is talking about when he decides to replace it.

    no track day

I have NO problem riding with them on my wimpy 250. I don't feel the need to keep up.
  3. I'm in the middle of a conversation about that very thing right now. The friend I was speaking with is a libertarian. I mentioned showing ID when in a vehicle that was stopped, where someone else was driving. He said that he has challenged LEO's before on the need to know who he is, that he wasn't the one being stopped, and that he was abiding by all the laws.
  4. I vote for the Colorado, but I AM a biased, loyal, Chevy fan.... Please don't notice that I drive a Dodge!!!
  5. How's the throttle actuator system, and the ABS? I'm going to hope that by now they've doen something about the frame rusting problem so that they're not going to be buying back a bunch of trucks in 10 years, again. I'm amazed at how well Toyota has done in light of that truck issue a couple years ago. I wonder how they'll come out of all these recalls they've been dealing with? I think the American car companies have something to learn from Toyota when it comes to running their business.
  6. Are people that aren't here legally protected by the constitution? If they come through the front door, become documented Americans, get jobs, and live the "American dream" there would be no problem. Every time I've been in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation, Ihad to provide my ID os some sort of info they could enter into the computer to "check me out" even if I wasn't the driver. I don't see where this is so much different in what will actually be done in practice. If Arizona has the resources to do what some people think they will with it, I need to move there! They don't have the resources to just stop everyone they see to ask if they're here legally. If someone starts to run off if a LEO says "hi" to them, is that suspicion enough to detain them and see what the issue is, be it drugs, or they're illegal? I'm trying to understand here and asking questions, not trying to fan the flames. And Mags, I would think that providing a legal document, such as a state ID would be sufficient for your niece.
  7. My Ninja 250 with all 26 HP will get me up over 80. I don't push it much more than that, though. Definitely tedious! The primary thing is to make sure ALL of the passages are clear.
  8. Oh, they couldn't! It was all about over when I was of driving age, thankfully....
  9. Don't forget the air shocks of the early 80's jacking up the rear end so high that 4x4 bumper laws would apply!
  10. BUT, you have to be registered for a class to get in on the lottery. Good luck with the teaching! It is MUCH easier to let someone else teach on a bike other than your own!
  11. I've always had a thing for the RWB Interceptors! It CAN be painted though, and seeing that we have a body shop at work.... Troof.....

Not sure where this ride is going, I know Todd had mentioned a ride out his way (Coshocton) when I talked to him the other day.....
  13. And seeing that this is basically the EX500 engine, which has been around for a while, it might be adjustable.
  14. I was just fine with mine under tha bungee net all last year. Never had an issue with it!
  15. I could see her doing this! This is just wrong! Ya know, I understand that it's not good to treat animals badly, but these people are off the hook with their BS....
  16. If only it was red white and blue.....
  17. I'm torn. Do I sell the car that I swore I'd never sell, and buy something like this, or get my ass in gear and actually work on the car, and not have much time for riding......
  18. For your usage, I guess more secure is better, since you will use it morethan I do mine. You need somewhere to keep the bike that you can just leave the bag on it when you get home!
  19. Welcome! Listen to the guys around here, if they're messing with you, they're not JUST busting your balls, they will look out for you! Then again, some are just asshats. You'll have to learn what's what, and who to listen to about what.....
  20. That's why I like my bungies, easy to put on and take off.
  21. He'll give you a reach around and make it all better. I don't see giving up the beer being an option, unless there's plenty to go around. Typing cats are Jewish?
  22. You need something to cushion the straps, to keep them from rubbing through the paint! Looks good though!
  23. That was the fun part! I wore my textile jacket, work boots, gloves and helmet that I usually wear when I ride. I didn't have my riding pants at the time, and I don't think I would have worn them even if I did, unless it was rainy or cold!
