  1. I obviously wasn't there last week, so don't know what all went down.... But the OP in this thread sounds pretty reasonable. I'm not sensing any sarcasm, or intimidation(aside from the fact that he's letting us know he knows where to find us on here. Did someone tell him, or did he just figure it out from the stickers on the bikes?). He even seems to enjoy looking at the bikes.... Just not right in front of his store

My Spidey senses are tellin' me if we're cool with him, & respect his request, he doesn't have a problem with us

Was there an altercation or somethin' last week, I've not heard about?

And keep that asshat Jagr away from him....

That's pretty rotten that he called Jagr out, though. I think Jagr's a pretty laid back guy, unless provoked. I don't want to see him pissed at someone though....

  2. as in the legs? That thought hit me after I posted but figured if there was a cheap-ish bolt on alternative.

I'm pretty terrible at fabbing things up. My buddy is pretty decent though at most. The welding thing isn't really an option for us so I would have to bring it to where I work and have one of our guys do it, I just would prefer not to have to bother them

Take it out to 1000rrrider. He'll hook you up.

  3. I wasn't there, but I'm going to put this hypothesis out there: He is not really a "friend" of Jagr's?

    Wow! You're quick today!

I didn't pick up on that at first, until I saw the QSL threadthat he posted in, which I read right after I posted in here. I don't see any need to change my earlier posts, either way.

Fromt he looks of things, 1000rrrider might like him, if he gives him a good deal (and a reacharound.)

  4. I love posts submitted with all due respect.

It's a rare occasion with me. I usually don't care what people think, I just don't want Rick to think I'm calling him a squid, when I was riding harder in a few turns than I should have been. I'm very impressed with that little 250, the tires I run on it, and my abilities to keep it under control, even when I was really close to my limits. The tail end of the medium paced group was about right for me abilities, but they KILLED me on the straights, where 80 felt like I was trying to kill that little bike!

Wow, this is what I get for trying to be productive today, I miss out on comedy gold like this...

JaysonL, even though the original terms of our agreement were for the end of April, I'll go for the next CSBA ride. I do have to be honest, after going through that and getting the fear a few times along the way, I'm leaning more towards focusing on trackdays in a controlled environment then trying to brave the elements on roads I'm not familiar with, especially given the elevation changes of 541. Jury's still out on this.

As far as planning a ride, I'm the last kid you want to be doing that. I'll leave that to the much more experienced guys. I'm there to have a little fun and to learn a lot more. I've had my fair share of wrecks and don't wish to revisit that again.

Oh, and for the record, here's the approach to rick/snoman's turn.

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=New+Milford,+Ohio&sll=40.010787,-82.089844&sspn=25.207669,63.413086&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FQ0zcwIdTsQo-w&split=0&hq=&hnear=New+Milford,+Ohio&ll=40.283021,-82.141449&spn=0.006179,0.015482&z=17&layer=c&cbll=40.283227,-82.141603&panoid=82CduBGSATcsZ4ZrMd4sgA&cbp=12,157.84,,0,5

I was listening to some of the talk about some of the tracks that do track days, and it seems mid-ohio has some elevation changes (I have seen them, never been on the track) and might be more help than the flatter tracks.

I was going to post that link, but the blur in the picture discouraged me.

One BIG IMPORTANT thing I learned Saturday from doing, and from watching others, was preparing for the turn BEFORE getting into it. Outside, inside, outside. Don't try to run the center of the lane through the turn, it won't work nearly as well.

  5. I took my corners slower and within my ability which is why I had to speed up on the straights. I swear I thought they leaders were doing over 120. I look at it like this. If I cross the yellow line, that's a no-go and I have failed. This will be my second season riding and my first full one on a 600. There isn't one person on here that is going to make me exceed my abilities. I will learn at my pace but I will learn. Was talking to Todd about trying to get to some track days this year too.

Track days are a good idea, and I talked a bit to Todd about it a while back, as well. I don't know that I'll be able to do it this year, though. We'll see.

Your already on my list for when you make it down here kid, dont push your luck I know most all of the gravely corners and will probally be leading you. :)

 AND, he knows how to get through them without going down!

Just call the nice lady on the hill and warn her this time? I want to be special and get popsicles next time. :D

I'll volunteer to run out there in advance to deliver some popsicles to have them ready for us! :D

  6. iits cool i didnt need n e one to tell me i went in a little agreesive and should have backed off i think i learned the lesson but i get u p point to so its all good hard lesson learned

With all due respect Rick, that is what UP means by riding over your head. I have done it, and I did Saturday and ended up over the yellow line once (only when I could see nothing coming, and had nobody to follow to see a good line, I'm still learning to pick a line for myself) and once on the ride home, thanks to the wind, again with nothing coming the other way. I know I was in over my head, and I think God above that he kept me safe.

He's not trying to make you look bad by calling you out on it (at least I don't get that vibe from him) but wanting you to be more careful. John and Todd made the point when we stopped at the KFC to start on 79 that you need to ride your own ride, which I believe you did, with a couple exceptions.

I went around a few people, and a few went around me. No harm no foul either way. Although I guess ego might get in the way a bit when a Ninja 250 goes around a supersport, but it shouldn't!

Uncle Punk, you gonna make the next CSBA ride?

I was going to bust on you for not reading the thread, but I see you caught it already.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Where's the fuckin whambulance?

I don't know, but just be sure not to need one out in the Frazeysburg area. Todd might be the one to show up, and I hear he's "less than gentle" :dunno:

With all the shit I get for riding a Busa, if people dont like it when I bash on somebody's bike in return then go fuck yourself.

Heh.. Try riding a Ninja 250 when Jagr's around..... Gotta have thick skin around the OR community!

he did apologize for the record and felt bad about how what happen affected ride. Rick is a good dude.

I truly believe Rick is a good guy. I think he learned a lesson, and will be a better rider because of it. I look forward to seeing his Kat at the next CSBA ride, which I plan to be attending.

  7. There were a few people behind him, myself included. When we came up to the curve someone waved down us prior to cresting it. Don't know if anyone actually saw it happen though.

Rick, you had another close call a little bit before that when you went of the road the first time. SmuckGirl and I were right behind you on that one.

Oh, you mean right aboput the time I was catching you guys (on my 250!) I was right behind that one as well. That did not look fun at all! I figured he'd have to take a few minutes to wipe!

  8. I was way in the back lol. I was riding behind Becka. It was her first time ever riding any type of twisty roads I guess. She had a close call when coming up to Ricks accident due to too much rear brake, but other then that she did very well. Just at a slower, safer, pace that her dad set for her. We probably never hit more then 70.

I dunno, I enjoy riding with the less experienced riders, and make sure they are OK, and enjoy themselves. To me, it seems that as long as they know they aren't Last, and/or, aren't by themselves in a group ride, they will enjoy it more, and ride at their own, safe pace, whatever it may be.

I've had my extreme speed days, and I've had my twisty days. Now, as long as the group waits at the stops, so we/I don't end up getting lost, I am more then happy to ride with the slowest rider (you all did a great job at waiting at turns btw) I enjoy just being out and being Able to ride. It's a blessing, and a privilege just to be able to be out on two wheels, and one that I will never take for granted again. I enjoy seeing the different sites, and meeting the people that are involved.

Speed, route, destination, doesn't matter, it's the people that I meet along the way that I will remember.

I'm looking forward to May's ride already!

Well said man! This group was AWESOME to ride with! The stopping at EVERY turn, the response to rick's crash and helping him get it moving to get it out of the field, and pretty much everything about the group was awesome. The weather could have been a bit warmer and a little less wind, for sure! I'm ready to go again, on the next CSBA ride!

  9. Does this soap opera ever end?

    Nope!

    this is what is says...

questionaire regarding title transfer of motor vehical

Ohio Law requires the department of taxation to conduct a special audit of all casual (non-dealer) motor vehical title transfers. Our records show that you recieved a title to the above listed vehicle from Tim ____. As part of this audit you are instructed to complete this questionaire on the reverse side of this letter. ANY FALSE REPRESENTATION OF THE PRICE WILL BE IN VIOLATION OF OHIO REVISED CODE SECTION 2921.13. VIOLATION OF THIS SECTION IS PUNISHABLE BY A FINE OF UP TO $1000, 6 MONTHS IN PRISONMENT, OR BOTH.

Failure to respond will resort in an assesment (includes a 15% penalty) based upon the average retail price. please return this questionaire in the pre-addressed envlope.

I didn't see this when I made my last post.

I think the right thing to do has been posted. Find a way to contact the guy whose name was on the title before your's. Get your story straight, with somthing substantial being traded, or something like that, or fess up that you lied and pay some taxes on it.

I don't like having to pay taxes on something that has been taxed before. The original owner has paid a HUGE chunk of taxes on it, and every subsequent buyer of the same vehicle pays the taxes again! On top of that, you get taxed when you license it, and even taxed on every drop of fuel you put into a vehicle. Oh yeah, don't forget that you're taxed when you get your license to drive a vehicle.

  10. I tried on a lid with the internal visor, and I'm still not sure about it. I think it was the HJC, and the visor seemed to come awfully close to hitting my snout when it was down. Maybe I just need to try a few different sizes of helmet?

Who carries Shark helmets around ventral Ohio? I'd like to check them out.

  11. Finally getting around to checking in. I had to leave early with some health issues. I made is back ok, although I didn't actually make it back until 6:15 or so.

Thanks a lot for the ride, it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed meeting new faces, and seeing old ones again.

Our waitress just sucked. Why do I always get the bad waiter/waitress? Applebees, Catalifinos, and now that place too?

I'm glad to see that the Katana rider is ok, but seriously..have we not learned the Katana lesson by now?

To all those people saying They were holding up the group....I was last in virtually every stop, so you guys don't need to worry about it. I was so far behind, you guys probably forgot I was part of the group. I like my spot back there though, I get to watch everyone else, and I allow the rest of you to falsely feel superior!

I sure wish that the weather was warmer though, or that I had better gloves.

My final comment..is I totally have to agree with..................

It was good meeting you, and all the others that I only know as a screenname from here! I seriously only remember seeing you at the start, and when we stopped for Rick614 going offroading. That's when I left though, and I didn't get to enjoy lunch with the group. I hope all works out with my schedule next time.
