  1. I'm definitely looking to take any or all of you up on your offered rides through Coshocton! Any of you wanna make a trip itinerary/ride-route through google maps or something, so that I have enough time to shoot down there in my four wheeled vehicle during the week just to take a look at what it's like and make some mental notes....?!

Btw - Moose.... as a fellow Kat rider I'm glad to hear you're alright (or at least doing better). If you get a chance maybe take and through up some pics of the hand so we have something to grimace at! :)

    CSBA ride #1 for 2010.

  2. so the bike runs pretty well? nothing needs to be fixed (i'm sure that will change later down the line)? not too rusty?

i think i'm interested. should i get in touch with your uncle or you? i'm looking for a cheap bike for the old man. i'm sick of him dropping my bikes just to "ride it around the parking lot". that said, i dont want to leave him stranded lol. well, at least not too much.

Just buy the damn thing to give Pauly something to do. Geesh....

  3. there goes that "astute poster" honor :D

That's what I was talking about, ASS TOOT poster, talking out your ass!

I wouldn't put anyone (other than kids) in the back seat of my Camaro, unless they volunteered to get back there.

lol. Sitting at Iron Pony yesterday, I checked out the Vespas there. Those things are crazy expensive for what you get. I figured they'd be around $1-1.5K, not $5,000... She might go for that. She does like a scooter. I could even give her an OR sticker for it. :)

If anybody gives you an OR sticker for a scooter, I vote to have you banned....Permanently! :D

  4. Cell phone pics are more his style. He does that with VIN's instead of writing them down.

You need to have it running my this Saturday.;)

Ya, I'm too damn lazy to write. I almost walk out to cars with the laptop!

Not gonna be running that soon. It looks like I'm gonna be riding the toofiddy.

  5. Wow man, this sux. I hope that you can get some sort of safe feeling back ASAP. I know after my car had gotten broken into a couple years ago, I didn't feel quite right at home for months, maybe not even until I moved away from there 4 or 5 months later.

Speaking of FB though... has anyone been posting a lot of "I'm out doing 'x' for the next few hours" or "Meet me @ 'y'. I'll be there all night" status updates?

Be careful doing that. Just a PSA.

Not only dangerous, but it's annoying as hell, too.

mine usually says ill be home loading ammo and cleaning guns

    no joke......

Never a bad thing! Either posting it, or doing it!

:plus1: Announcing when you are not at home is a real bad idea.

This guiys should know. He knows security!!!!

  6. All you really need to get from this thread is that Brian is da man. Forget the HP numbers, he opened up power in my bike that hasn't been used yet. I hear alot of times people that get maps done have power on the low end but not on the top and vice versa. Brian made a map for me that opened up the power on both ends of the power band and everywhere in between. I cant say enough how much I appreciate what he did. Hell, next time I see him I'm gonna give him a reach around

It's not all about the max power (sorry Shawn!) it's more about having the power where you need it, and the engine running optimally under all conditions. A properly tuned bike will be faster, but also smoother, and last longer!

  7. really? who wears the pants here

    Careful, his wife was MP!

I saw a minute of that, that guys garage was full of horse drawn vehicles. Crazy!

My dad would go crazy with that! Especially if they had anything for miniature horses. Not to mention that he's also a packrat.

I really need to set TiVo to watch that for me. The few times that I've caught the show were cool.

  8. I was thinking more along the lines of mine is so much faster than yours in the straights that I can take my time in the twisties. You'll never be able to catch up:p

Well, that's one theory.... (I knwo I couldn't keep up on either with my slow bikes)

A few objective assumptions after reading this thread.

    1. You guys got the ghey.

    2. Northwest Ohio is all straight roads, which is why everyone up there has a busa or bird

    3. Kawi traded his bike for an X-Box.

    4. :sheepfucker:

    Nice one MP, nice one!

  9. i have one - 06 600, first bike it was blue and white....its painted black diamond ice now and the mrs is riding it as her first bike. No complaints, not fast, not light, great for going around town, great on gas, low maintenance, and bullet proof....

Bullet proof? But is it Coshocton Proof?

  10. Target fixation is a bitch. It's tough to get over, as well. I am BAD about looking at the road when entering a corner, and it's one thing I have been really working hard on correcting. I do a glance down as I approach and scan the surface as I look back up and through the turn. I try to have my quick visual sweep completed by the time I actually begin turning. If any of that makes any sense. :dunno:

Moose, are you looking at new parts, or hitting up fleabay for used? You might see what Cycle search can hook you up with, if not just a contact to get a good deal on something used.

  11. I'm now determined to be the FIRST, and presumably ONLY Katana to ever make it through Coshocton alive. Not saying I'm gonna blast through I'm just now set on the idea of being the first to make it through unscathed! :)

You guys make me a trip route starting from somewhere in Akron and I'll do it! :D

In other news.... Hope Moose is alright and doing well. :( Going down is never fun.

Meet us down there for the CSBA ride this Saturday! I want SOMEONE to make it through on a Kat! I would've thought for sure that Moose would be the one!

Moose needs to get back on that bitch and whoop those roads!

Get yourself healed up and back out there Moose, there are too many good riding days coming up!

  12. I don't know. I guess it's because they've had troubles in the past with people making keys for bikes. I don't see the big deal either, since you can pick the bike up and take it, or roll it away. I think they should check registration to make a car key. I bet they don't because they want the sale.

Some dealers (GM for sure, and some Fords) can cut a key using the VIN, but tend to not do it without the owner proving ownership, registration, ID, etc... We had a customer that needed a new key cut (no old one to go on, it was broken off in the ignition) and the Ford stealership wouldn't do it for our shop, even though we regularly deal with them. If the one in town here would've had the ability, I bet they would have done it. I'm not sure if they didn't have the equipment, or just none of the key blanks, it's been a few years ago.

  13. how the hell did this go from is moose ok to make fun of me? funny how that works

That's just the way OR works! I can't believe this thread actually stayed on topic this long!

So, what's the deal, have there been ANY Katana's from OR that have made it back from a spirited ride through Kershockten, unscathed?
