  1. Use www.ohio-riders.com.

Firefox, IE, Chrome, etc all accept the way I have it setup, sharing one cookie across the multiple domains. Safari does not. I have the same problem on my iPhone.

ANd there we have the definitive answer!

You would think they'd do have it work that way, with some big sites sometimes bouncing you from server to server, and changing domains, etc... I've been on a few sites where the subscription is handled by a third party, sending you to their site to login, then back to the content you're looking for.

  2. shup, I left the key on. I'm still using the same battery. It still works...

edit: I only use the battery tender over the Winter, inside the house. Best not to try to hard freeze a battery.

Ah, I was thinking that battery was weak anyway, and leaving the key on was the final straw.

Our Ninja has what appears to be the original battery in it, the bike had less than 2400 miles when I got it last April, and I highly doubt it had been maintained properly, in fact, the bike was out in the cold when I went to look at it, and buy it. I'm hoping that it has a while left in it, too! It's s sealed AGM battery, so maybe someone did change it out.... :dunno:

  3. Nice combo with all the hobbies. Now if you say you are into Oldsmobile muscle cars that would be something.....

:plus1: It's getting tough to find ANYONE that's interested in Oldsmobiles anymore! Olds engines have a uniqe sound that I haven't heard in quite some time. :(

I think MJ has a competitor here.... :dunno:

  4. it's a little battery charger that plugs into the wall, and to an outlet you install on your bike (via the battery)

it keeps the battery fully charged at all times...

personally, I don't like them. They mask battery problems just as well as they prevent them. If i have a problem with my battery, or a drain on it, I'd rather find out about it in my own garage at home when trying to start it at the beginning of a ride, NOT at a stop during a ride.

It sounds like your battery is weak. Battery tenders are great for when the bike will be sitting for a long period of time. For regular use, I don't recommend them. My bike both sat over the winter without a battery tender and are fine.

Ask ReconRat about the battery dying while out on a ride....

  5. geez... dunno, I had shades on and it was still a bit dark. I couldn't see if driver was male or female. Probably male, driver had a hoodie up and covered most of the face. They just put a hand up like... hoping I wouldn't trash the mirror or door... I'm not that mean anymore. And the car I had been following appeared to be a Columbus policeman going to work...

Yeah, I doubt it would have been him anyway, he's not an idiot (from what I know of him anyway.) Just looking for some humor...

  6. Had a white mini van push me out of the lane into the turn lane on Friday morning. There's a terrible left side blind spot on some mini vans. But no excuse for the driver, I was right there next to the driver's door, they didn't physically turn their head and look.

:dunno: Doesn't max power have a white Muckin Finivan? Jussayin'.....

  7. Dont get your oil at autozone, bike oil and car oil are not the same. Put motorcycle oil in your motorcycle not car oil. Your clutch discs are in the oil bike oil is designed for that car oil is not.

They don't carry any M/C oil? I get mine from Carquest, they stock Amsoil, and Valvoline conventional in the 10w40 that I run in my bikes.

  8. Yes, I do have a center stand */facepalm lol so just the oil and filter? Do I need anything else? I am headed to Autozone today, because I have to get a new battery and I can pick up anything I need. Let me know if you want me to grab you anything as well.

You need some chain lube as well, if you don't already have some. I'm not sure if AZ has anything decent, or not. I use PJ1 blue label chain lube, myself. If you don't know the history of the bike, you might want to grab some plugs for it. AZ should be able to get those, they might have to order them, though.

Side note: Maybe next year, someone can plan a "shop day" or something for a bunch to get together and prep their bikes for the season, and maybe something mid to late season as well. I know Hoblick did something like this a time or so last year, and I MIGHT be able to do something, IF I the owner of the shop where I work is ok with it.

  9. A spool is a small little bolt on that goes near where the rear wheel hub nut is. The bike can be lifted by levering up the rear using the spools.

That way the chain can be tensioned and lubricated. You'd need oil and filter too.

I've got tools at my place, and no problem putting an hour or so to help out.

Just a wild guess here, but a Nighthawk most likely has a center stand, negating the need for spools.

  10. Did you know, you can open the gas cap and look and see?

Not that anyone now days would ever do that, but... back-in-the-day...

You know... before we had any gauges or indicators at all.

Some of us still do that! On the Interceptor it's tough to see though, so I've just figured out that 130 miles or so keeps me out of reserve.
