Another aspect to consider is that the person indirectly paid into unemplyment anyway.
I'm not saying the extensions are bad. I just wonder how many people are "milking the system" compared to getting out there and working, because the jobs aren''t paying much more than what their unemployment amounts are. It seems to me that places are hiring all over the place, but knowing they will be getting a check from unemployment people aren't taking a lesser job. On the other side, how many people are using the time being unemployed to pursue more education?

This article? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/01/gop-sen-kyl-unemployment_n_481526.html
Eh, I'm sure it makes some lazy. But by definition, being 'unemployed' means you are actively pursuing work. If you're not, you don't fall into the definition of unemployed. From what I understand, you do have to provide some type of evidence that you are searching for work in your field.
It was a segment on the local news, but I can look at that one later....
-
What are your thoughts on this?
Are unemployment extensions that have been granted since the economic downturn enabling people to be lazy, abusing the system? Is it that they are getting more appropriate jobs by having more time to prepare?
I'm not asking for any particular reason, other than the news had a piece on about it.

I like the 45,000 dollar option of air conditioning and the only leather on my body is underneath my ass not cooking me like a hotpocket.
What a Schmuck! I think you forgot that this is a motorcycle enthusiast website...
Now that I'm done messin' with ya', I just have to say that I'm not nearly as excited about fast cars now that I have a bike, even if it's a slow bike!

I meant leash lol
SURE ya did...

I've done it once and is was all the carb fun I could handle.
It's not hard to clean them. It's the re-sync that is a pain in the butt.
Funny thing, I'd rather synd them than try to get all of those little passages cleaned out! Maybe my VF500 was just needed cleaned THAT bad! Syncing the carbs went really easy, once I got them close before hooking up the gauges.
-
Chevysoldier just went through the carbs on his FZR 600. Be prepared, it may not be a simple cleaning job! He ended up having to replace the emulsion tubes that the slider needles go through. There was NO getting it right otherwise.

No, I was looking for him but was trying to keep a lease on my kid from touching everything in sight too. I had to go up there and order a gasket for my starter cover.
I thought that was a paid for deal. You're leasing your kid?

I think most of this thread after post 1 is in direct violation of rule 1. Everyone turns this into a dick measuring contest. You're absolutely right, if the ride leader is a local who rides it all the time and tells Rider B to ride near the middle behind a few locals I can't imagine Rider B is going to say "Sure!" unless it's someone without an ego...
There's a lot of folks here who don't give a shit where they ride in a group, and there's plenty of folks who will throw a hissy fit if they aren't lead or drag, so w/e. I just ride, if someone wants to pass me, pass me. but like I said, if you hit me you better hope I don't get up.
This is why rule #1 should be:
LEAVE YOUR EGO AT HOME, WE DON'T NEED IT!
-
That's not the proper way to lift your bike, either. Good luck riding back home (if it's not too banged up) with your back f'ed up.

I was waiting for that and completely expected it
' date=' for the record, I was 17.[/quote']
I was 13. I'm not ready to start bumming Geritol from Swing'r yet....

The rules are going to vary with the situation. Larger rides, might want to split into smaller groups, faster riders, and newberific rider separated, with some fasters helping out with the newberifics.
I can see where on some smaller groups, 1 or 2 newberifics could be asked to leave if they ride dagerously, without others to make a newberific group.
Anyone follow what I mean?

My dads friend once told me that roads in Ohio with 3 digits are great roads to ride. So far his statement is holding true. I like mohican there is a run to the covered bridge that I can never ride too much
161 kills that theory.
668 is ok, for a local road (to Newark) and a well know "speedway".

The Eris/Hero does have some "lag" at times in the interface. If 2.1 does not fix that, I'll go root and OC the thing.

dude carrie got one on thursday and she loves it. i read this to her and she said you must have a bad one cuz she couldnt be happier!!!
Just put an Apple logo on the back of it, and he'd like it again.

Sprint's coverage, while not perfect by any means, has been fine for me. Very few places I lose signal, and some that I get signal that others don't!
-
I'm ok with the HTC Hero, which is the Sprint version of the Eris (almost exactly the same) and I'm pretty happy with it. My iPhone weilding step bro was pretty impressed with it, too. He said there were a few basic things it could do that he couldn't. I messed with an iPhone for about 10 mins once, and haven't been much more frustrated than that time I wasted with it.
I'm anxiously awaiting the 2.1 OS update for the Hero. It's either that, or go root, and load a custom rom on it, and OC it.

Worked perfectly, you just don't know how to flex your pimp hand properly.
And she spent the rest of the eve showing how grateful she was for her new bike
She just got my hand-me-down (when I'm through with it.)

For anything that my 20-100 ft-lb won't handle, I have a 3/8 drive in-lb on the bottom, or a 50-250 ft-lb on the top. The in-lb gets the most use, but needs replaced, it broke the last time I used it.

1st Mondays/month - Henson's Pub, Johnstown - start date unknown
Tuesdays - Avg Joes, New Albany - start date unknown
Henson's? Interesting. Only once a month, and most likely all Harley'd up. I'll try to remember this one and do a drive by, at least.
Where is Avg Joe's? I'm all about close to home!

More news from people who now have read the new law.The part about the "End Of Life" option is very troubling. No possibility of abuse by government here, move along. This is starting to sound pretty scary.
Since you're so close to it?

If he was closer, I'd say hit up Isaac's Papa (DucRx), the next on the list is closer, in Delaware, Cycle Search. Both are sponsors here, and both have a great reputation for quality work, and fair prices. There are others, those are just the most popular one's that people recommend.
Next in line would be Yamaha of Columbus / Iron Pony. If you go there, make sure you say hey to Moose!
