  1. Hey! I was gonna throw that option in but I was actually kinda curious what the real results would be' date='

and I know at least half you sob's would pick the hookers and blow option![/quote']

Good point...Although, you could do it as "over with hookers" or "under with blow"

  2. Ok so I say who cares as long as there is toilet paper in the bathroom. Am I right?

From reading this thread, I think there's more to it than that. First and foremost the TP just being there IS most important, but it's just weird if it's on the roll backward.

  3. From what I have seen, lefties tend to put it under, righties, over. And I mean dominate hand, not political party.

I just checked on this one with the wife, since she's a lefty, and she agrees, "over by far." Then again, she is odd anyway, the exception to most "rules."

  4. I see I'm not the only one that's too lazy to put the TP on the roll :)

It's over at our house. I don't know why I'm so picky about it, but I'll fix it if it's under! If the dog messes with it, she WILL learn to leave it alone, or else!

  5. Lets get this shit straight, a HotCarl is droping a nice steaming loaf of man-chowder on your "partners" face then proceeding to rape his/her (gotta be PC) mouth repeatedly. I will neither confirm nor deny that I have done this action on a partner before.

    I am HotCarl.

And as for the saran wrap move, thats called a "glass bottom boat". Damn Bornsinner, never took you for an amatuer, you cuban drug kingpin you. Then again maybe urban dictionary is just off the mark here. Though you never texted me maybe it was just my spidey sense tingling? or my phone vibrating in my pocket, either way im here.

But where do the sheep come into play?

  6. That's what happens when you've been perfecting the design since the 1950s.*

*Ok, technically the LSx line is it's own development branch of GM powertrain, but roots go back to the original 350s.

The thing about that is, even though it's technically it's own branch of development, it's impossible to overlook what was learned (strengths and shortfalls) from what I think is the most successful engine design so far. I don't think any sane person can call the original small block Chevy a failure. Almost 50 years of production use! From what I can tell, 2002 was the last year for the 350 (and 305) in dmoestic production, in the Express vans.

  7. essentially, No. It's a bullet proof engine from start to finish. It's passed GM durability testing at the 1000 hp mark. That can be had with different pulleys and tunes/fuels. The heads are sick. They flow obscene amounts of air, have the best combustion chambers ever produced, and a cam made for boost. So no, there really ISNT much that can be done to it.

Gotcha. I haven't done much performance work for quite a while now, other than Honda stuff for work FML...

I don't know why, but I'm such an old school, N/A guy. I love to pull as much out of a N/A engine as possible! In the end though, boost is not much more that artificial displacement, so to speak, so it's just a mental block.

One of my favorite projects that I've done was a 89 Buick LeSabre T-type that we did the L67 swap on. 3.8 SC in that car is pretty fun in stock form! I'm very happy with how that one turned out. I used OE type mounts, instead of solid mounts that I've seen on some hack jobs of that swap. I used the Grand prix fuse and relay box, and pretty much tried to keep everything as OE looking as possible. That's how I like to do swaps, make it look like it's supposed to be there. Current project is a S-10 V8. It's the first I've done, and it's turning out nicely. If it were my truck, it would be getting EFI though.

  8. The complicated part is making everything work together in unison. selecting a camshaft that works good with the head flow and compression ratio, pistons that have crowns that exploit the burn of the combustion chambers and so on and so forth.

DUH! Maybe they have wrung every last bit out it they can? How often do you see that from a production engine, especially and American engine?

  9. Sorry, I just have to ask. Your going to 'upgrade' from forged crank and pistons, and fucking Ti rods to what exactly? Unobtainum? It's killing me I've gotta know.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match, as I was just generalizing.I never said anything about strengthening the bottom end. I know that LSx engines are pretty tough in general. Are you telling me that are no improvements to be made to that engine?

I would rather buy a standard vette and build my own engine. What part of that didn't you get from the "sell it to me at a lower price" part of my comment?

  10. Now that I think of it, probably the most COMMON problem with front wheel drive fords of that era would be steering rack leakage, in addition to the head gasket problems. I'm not saying to expect either to happy, just other than the typical maintenance and small repair issues, those are the only things I've seen failing enough to mention.

  11. I know. I swore I'd never own another Ferd, but I couldnt pass up the deal. It only has 38k! Know of any issues with these Windstars or the 3.0 V6? Its a 98.

When they get some miles on them, head gasket issues pop up from time to time. We see a few of them at the shop and I can't really think of anything specific that is overly common to them. The 3.8's had some intake manifold issues, and most of the ones we see have the 3.8. That 3.0 is the Taurus engine, and has been pretty reliable.
