  1. That's just it! I even said we could find an 05 R6 for the same price or less and get him in under his price goal. But he's locked onto the new gen and wants nothing else. I even found an 08 R6 in yellow with 3k miles for $5k flat. Nope.

Umm... DUH! 08 with 3k for $5k FTW!

:nono: someone's using emotion in their purchase, instead of their brain!

  2. Correct. Did you know that the gulf stream is part of a single continuous loop of current that goes around the world through all the oceans?

A very large lake in Canada burst loose about 12,800 years ago, and disrupted that loop of current. A nasty ice age for Europe was the result.

    Very interesting....

  3. My motor doesn't put around long enough to build up lots of carbo and cause issues. It works it's ass off every time it get started. Sees redline once a drive. I've also got a catch can on the evap system. Last time I lifted the intake, clean as a whistle. I'm sure my bearings love me though.

Can't wait until I get the day to tear it apart and see what damages I've caused. Lol

EGR disabled? THAT is where most of the carbon in the intake tract comes from anymore. Intake valves usually don't get bad these days.

  4. We also have a 2004 Ninja 250. One of the best things it has going for it is the 60+ MPG it gets! I'm not going to say in this thread how much I paid for it though, because it had been down and the front fairings were GONE, and it wouldn't be afair comparison. It only had about 2400 miles on it, was my first bike, and served it's purpose well. In fact, I still like riding it!

The only problem it has given me (other than replacing the fairings and mirrors and stuff) is the starter clutch is bad, and it's "interesting" to get it to start! I think the starter problem is from my wife learning how to ride, not knowing how to operate a clutch!

  5. To get back on topic here for sec, I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that the P0421 code didn't come back after the cat was replaced. If it did, with the misfire codes in there it cannot be trusted. Seeing that the Misfires were cyls 1&3, I'd say just the wires were at fault, but should have the coil boots replaced. Sometimes they don't have boots available for some applications, then they have to replace the coil.

To verify the repair, on the catalyst anyway, they should have driven an OBD2 drive cycle, which is a specific set of driving conditions to get the PCM to run all of it's tests, then check for pending codes, and look at mode $06 data to see if it was passing. It's not that tough, if the tech knows what they're doing, and how the system works....

  6. Too far for me to convince the hubby to drive to.

Maybe I should plan a North to West side meet-up.

Some of the guys from out Coshocton way can make it there.. Just sayin'! With that said, I don't make to them either, with too much going on and all.... Ugh....

  7. Just talked to the mgr for an update' date=' when they brought it in from the lot this morning the light was off and it started and ran ok.[/quote']

I'm calling :bs: on this one! If the light came on during the trip over there, on steady, not flashing it would still be on until it ran through 3 or so warm up cycles without the problem occurring again. It's in the OBD2 :rulez:. That is unless it wasn't an OBD2 code, but a manufacturer code that set, then it can work however Mazda wants to do it. If the car was shaking, a misfire, it would be a P0300 - P0304 code, which should not go away on the very next start.

Maybe Mazda has a loophole I don't know about though? :dunno:

  8. C25K-W4D2 complete this afternoon

Snowing & 22 degrees, with a couple inches of fresh powder on the ground. 5 minute segments were killer, especially the 2nd one! No traction & drained legs

'Bout the only thing that kept me puttin' one foot in front of the other was the thought of havin' to come on here & tell you guys I wussed out :nono:

 That's not a big deal, at least you would've wussed out trying! My sorry, lazy ass hasn't even got going yet! I wussed out because of the cold, long ago! Hell, I didn't even get past downloading the MP3's that go with it! There's a shitcarload of snow out there today, my car was cleaned off when I got home around 5:30 last night, and there's several inches on it again this morning.....
