  1. I was talking to a LEO yesterday and his thoughts are that it's not any different on their part, that he hadn't even heard about it. He was of the opinion that if you're not being an ass to begin with, there's nothing to worry about. I mentioned the judging of excessive acceleration, and he says that as long as you're not getting all up on someone's ass, there shouldn't be a problem. Basically, from what he was saying, if a LEO wants to be dick, they can now. There are MANY laws on the books that are not enforced as it is. Such as backing out of your driveway, if there's a sidewalk, you're supposed to stop at the sidewalk, then again at the street. How many do that? Also, when backing out of your driveway, you're supposed to signal. How many LEO's even pay attention to that to bother enforcing it?

I didn't discuss the vehicle seizure part with him though, as I think that's more of an issue for the courts.

  2. Ive got a trailer for sale

I've got no money... But, quick details anyway, please...

I have a couple that I can borrow, none are specifically setup for bikes, but my dad's has tie-downs in the florr, which works. The 250's light enough to throw in a truck bed even, with a little help.

  3. Where is your place at? I've been wanting to check it out sometime.

I would have to agree with porter about customer service. Customer service is what keeps places like starbucks going. Yes they have great coffee, but who wants to spend that kind of money on freakin coffee? Customer service FTW!! Lol...

In that regard, I won't go back to a location of a fast food joint for a while after getting bad service (with the exception of a bad experience on opening day, or something like that.)

The only place I won't give up, even for bad service, is Chipotle. I have a burrito addiction that I'm very proud of!

Funny that you mention Starbucks. We don't drink coffee, but the wife loves their hot chocolate. We've stopped there a few times for her (after me and the boys get smoothies) and I commented on how great, and "chatty" they are even through the drive thru. I never realized how customer service oriented they are!

  4. Glad everything came out good, I remember when my dad had his gall bladder removed, He came home and mom said he had to watch this movie. Harry and the Hendersons. After watching that movie he was ready to kill her cause he laughed so hard and everytime he laughed it hurt.Which I thought was funny.

I think that movie was only funny the first time for me, though.

I remember my recovery from hernia surgery, full opening, no laproscopic stuff for me (:asshole: Dr.) Never did take any of the darvocet they gave me, although I had it filled just in case. I had a 6 week recovery, and I remember sitting on the ground next to my Camaro, reaching in under the dash changing the heater core after the first week or so. I couldn't take it being down doing nothing.

  5. My broke ass can't pay attention, let alone buy anything today!

pair of Uggs tall classic boots for the wife... $225 poorer now!

:wtf: I hope you get something REALLY good in return for that.. :nono:

Settlement, and thankfully I will have some to put back for later :)

Way to go! Wise decision in paying off debt! Now what to do for a bike for you?

  6. As a side note, bad service will sour me on a place for quite a while, even if I really like the product. Fortunately, most of the local shop are what I like best, and they seem to take the most pride in what they do, and that (usually) automatically equals good service.

  7. I had to vote for other. It's a quality vs. price vs. what I'm in the mood for equation.

We have a great pizza shop here in J-town, Villa Pizza. Quality is great, and price is very competitve. They don't deliver, carry out only. If I'm lazy, we have Domino's. Not the greatest, but get's the job done. I really like Donato's, but not enough to justify the price (very often) so we get the take n bake from Kroger once in a while. There's a good quality local shop a few miles away that we also hit when we want a fairly cheap dinner out, The Pizza Place in Croton, which is owned by friends/customers where I work.

Then we have my top pick, which is Plaza Pizza in Newark. I LOVE that pie! Some of the best I've ever had, and the price is pretty low! Downside, it's a half hour drive each way for me now that I've moved to J-town.

I know my answer may not be of much help, but I really do get pizza from several places, depending on when we're getting it, and the situation around the meal. If it were closer, I would likely be getting Plaza most of the time though!

  8. The 250 is a perfect track bike!

I have heard that about the 250. I do like to push it, too. Chicken strips are pretty much non-existant on that bike, front and rear tires, which were new this year. I'm even impressed with the brakes, they're much better than the Interceptor's!

I'd need to round up a trailer and truck to get it up there, or ride it to get there (I know, not a good idea.)

  9. I think jporter is lending me the Ninja 250 :-D

Good luck getting the wife to buy into that one! The 250's more her's than mine...

We may see about it when the time gets closer. If nothing else, I have a good camera, a couple decent lenses, and a need to gain some skill, so maybe I could go to take pics! That is if I don't take one of the bikes out with the other beginners!

  10. Yeah' date=' that's my bad. Sorry.[/quote']

    :asshole::lol:

no, no , no...churches get their money from people (members) after they are taxed. So the government taxes the same dollar twice? look at it this way. Its more of a scam that the government is taxing the dollar twice than the church not getting taxed at all. :)

:plus1: I get taxed on my income (Fed, state, local S.D., Social INsecurity, etc...) then most of what I buy get's taxed. When I pay my rent, I'm sure my landlord pays taxes on the very same $$$ that I got taxed on. I don't know what a good solution is, but what we have in place now is obviously not working out. There are budget deficits on every level, across the country, and it's getting worse, not better!

Where is the change? I'm still waiting.....

  11. Still, I can't say they're wrong. The BCS system is a joke.

Agreed that the BCS system is a joke, BUT.... I don't think it's something that the Congress of The United States of America should be dealing with. How about working on getting rid of some of the debt? Here's an idea.... Let's get rid of congress, since all they are worried about is their own popularity, getting re-elected, and sports.

  12. These nutjobs in congress neve cease to amaze me:

    http://www2.nbc4i.com/cmh/sports/college/college_football/article/house_panel_passes_college_football_playoff_bill/28060

WASHINGTON—A House subcommittee has approved legislation aimed at forcing college football to switch to a playoff system to determine a national champion.

The bill would ban the promotion of a postseason NCAA Division I football game as a national championship unless that title contest is the result of a playoff.

The measure passed by a voice vote Wednesday by a House Energy and Commerce Committee subcommittee.

The sponsor, GOP Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, said the current Bowl Championship Series is unfair and won’t change unless prompted by Congress.

But some lawmakers on the subcommittee said Congress has better things to do than legislating on college football.

Please tell me I'm not alone in thinking they have better things to do....

  13. I'm sure there's alot of people that think it would be ridiculous for a gigantic nonprofit motorcycle shop to be built. but if it came about because people donated alot of money to it, it's worth it to someone and they donated the money to make it happen and that's the way it is. apparently there's enough people that want it there.

Along the same lines, sort of:

    http://www.bikersforchrist.org/

  14. That's true among some churches. I've never been a member of, or even attended a service in one of those mega-churches. Truth be told, I've never been to church in OH, so the only time that I attend is when I'm back home with my family. That said, some organizations do perpetuate a message with their giving, and others only perpetuate the message of giving. And that's how it should be. Charity for charity's sake.

Agreed. The way it should be done is just giving, building a relationship with people. Don't preach to them, just let them know where you're from. Build that relationship, and eventually they will start asking about the church. If it's something they want to be a part of, they will come.

  15. Actually, you can put seafoam in the crankcase, just keep in mind that it will thin out the oil, which is why I recommend against running it very long. I'm not sure about Shaeffer's, I'll see what I can find on pricing, and quality. When people are willing to spendthe extra $ I tell them to use Mobil 1, when tey want the best they can get for their money, I say Amsoil.

  16. Do you mean you only change your oil every 10k or every other oil change is Schaeffer's? Has anyone seen an oil analysis of their oil or additives to support going so long without a change? How much does it cost?

    http://www.schaefferoil.com/supreme_9000.html

Any comments about the Auto-RX stuff they talk about in that BMW thread? Any usefulness in a car w/ over 110k? Motorcycle with over 14k? Vs Seafoam? I've used Seafoam in gas tanks in other cars and haven't noticed much. I've used Seafoam in vaccum lines going to the valve cover and saw aloooooooooot :D

With ANY thin cleaner added to the crankcase, be sure to not run it very hard, or very long, IMO. Put the stuff in, run it for a while, drain it, rinse repeat, yada yada....

One thing I do to help with sludg buildup in my cars is to add about 1/2 quart of transmission fluid about 1000 miles before the oil change. The good ole Intrepid would use/leak enough to have room for it by then. ATF has more detergents in it, and that small amount won't hurt a thing. I have no reason to bother with anything on the bikesm they're both sqeaky clean on the inside.

  17. Unfortunately you are right.

One of the dealers I worked with sent me a picture of a Jeep that was brought into their sister dealership. The driver hit a mattress on the highway, and didn't see it in their rear view mirror. Then their vehicle mysteriously started to drive much slower. When they took it to the dealership, all of the mattress coils were wrapped around the drive shaft. Fuckin' people.

Or how about the MINI customer who purchased a brand new MINI, took it home on the highway, hit a mattress and kept on going. Her car then caught on fire and burned to a pile of metal on the side of the road.

You must be tired or horny with all this matress talk!
