  1. anyone used any of the in-dash Pioneer units? i was looking at their 7" double DIN stereo/dvd/nav systems but never heard anything about their GPS abilities

Chevysoldier has one, I think it's a few years older, but they don't seem to change those units as often as the others. I'll mention it to him when I see him at work tomorrow, and maybe he can chime in on it for you, further hijacking Fonzie's thread (like that's an issue around here anyway :dunno:)

  2. I guess you're paying for all the other customers in default. Either way' date=' having credit card balances is always a bad idea. Credit is overrated and the desire to have 'perfect credit' so one can buy things they cannot afford is precarious, at best. I know.. been there, done that. Debt free living is the way to go. We're working on the house starting next year. Both cars and all the bikes are paid for. Credit cards have been gone for a while. In a few years the mortgage will be paid and her student loan will be squashed. Then, we will be officially 100% debt free. Working my ass off for shit I don't need in the first place is finished. Fuck that shit.[/quote']

    :plus1:

From here on out the only credit I should ever need will be to maybe buy a house later on.

  3. This may be true but I have never handled a 1d or a d3

Personally, I think if one is planning on being moderately serious about photography, and getting out of the automatic modes, they should start with the XXD series in Canon, or the equivalent for Nikon. I think the current model would be the 50D. That's my personal opinion though... Take it for what it's worth.... (ZERO )

  4. yeah, the controls are a big thing! i personally am not a huge fan of most of the brands controls, but it happens. find what works best for you.

Ya know, in that case it's more of what you've gotten used to! I think this is a big part of brand layalty for many people.

I use Canon, started with entry level film SLR, went to the Digital Rebel (entry level) and going to the 40D was very similar in how the menus work, but the layout is different, and is close to the pro line of cameras (1D series.) I like it, just took a little (not much, really) time to get used to everything again.

  5. Credit sucks. I don't want any credit cards. I've proven to myself that it's too tough to be responsible with them, and that the CC companies are (obviously) only in it for the HUGE profits they make at the cardholder's expense.

FICO? Who is FICO? Is that your dog's name? Seriously though, NO credit is better than BAD credit. I'm trying to live to where I don't NEED credit, and I'm doing pretty well with that. I know somewhere down the road, I'm going to want to buy a house, and by that time my credit should be pretty much zero'd out. At that point, NO credit will get me further than the BAD credit I could (would) have with credit cards. We have a few things we need to pay off still, some are bad credit points, and we'll be on track to having it all cleaned up.

I have heard that the CC rates are going so high because of all the people defaulting, they've having to spread some of the burden over to those that DO pay their bills. Socialism anyone?

  6. anyone else like to do the mangina tuck?

I'll rest my elbows on my knees which puts me in a semi-tucked position, when slabbing it on a straight-away for a while, which gets some wind off my helmet, also. Once I start doing any manuevering, I'll rise back up into a control position that is comfortable, and gives me the best control, which seems to be leaned forward slightly.

  7. I call BS, your Kawi couldn't do 70 going downhill with a tailwind.

No, that would be our Kawi 250 (although Iknow it's a little bit better than 70) I'm sure her 500 would do a LITTLE bit better.

It seems like on that 250 the wind hits me just exactly where I don't want it to, such as KK, right at the bottom of the helmet. The double bubble windscreen did NOT make it any better, maybe even worse!

  8. I am not doing shit today. its 315 on sunday afternoon.watching my first football game in HD, and im not moving off the couch. that is all.. thank you. :D
im watching the gf put up a christmas tree :D

    Lazy assed losers....

All I did all afternoon was drive home from Pittsburgh, and stopped for dinner on the way.

  9. Did you name it? Like Lola or Mariah?

No silly, Al Gore owns all the satellites. In fact, he invented them:nono:

Ok, ok. A quick threadjack (worse than it is already) I saw a show about Johnny Cash on Bio channel the other night, and good ole Al Gore was one of the people they had talking about him!

I just found it a bit odd. So, I guess Al invented the music industry, too?
