  1. k, so gear should be purchased whenever you find a good deal on a website, makes sense to me.

I'd love to buy a brand new bike... but I'm not sure that I want to finance a bike.

Nope, gear should be bought whenever you need something, and you find a good deal on it anywhere!

I'm with hya on the not financing one. I've pretty much sworn to not finance anything ever again (except maybe a house one day.)

  2. Usually fall is the best time to buy a bike for seveal reasons but the biggest is the "new" bikes are going to come out and peoples bikes will a generation older. It seems that the very slow economy has been enough to keep the manufactures from making any significant changes to any of their models. It looks like new bikes (leftovers) are the best deal right now. Cheap new bikes have pushed down the price of used bikes enough that people might just hold on to them for another season.

Cheap new bikes? Where? Methinks prices are through the roof!

That said, the amount of technology that goes into todays bike, I'm surprised they don't cost any more than they do.

For me, fall would be the best time to buy a bike, since I would be buying used, and people would want to dump them instead of storing. Funny thing though, the spring is when I got a good deal on my first bike! I think it may b e due to people getting riding fever, and wanting something new for the season.

  3. Yea I don't think I want the katana and go to cashoton if I remember right they do not come out the same way they went in.

I have seen a few of the bikes I want at integrity cycles and almost ready to commit, but I do have all winter to get one.

On the down low from the wife-Good thing I have 2 garages

Seriously though, Katana's are OK bikes from what I've heard, I just prefer to have liquid cooled, myself. I'm sure it's more of just a personal preference thing than anything.

  4. My plans are very ambitious, to say the least.

    Hon-DUH:

Strip the bike down, paint everything, rebuild the engine, new brakes all around, susapension upgrades. I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it all though...

    Ninjette:

Paint all the plastics, change fluids, typical maintenance stuff

  5. what do gay games consist of? (i'm not sure I want to know) I'd only watch the women's sports in those olympics.

    Here's my guess...

Opening ceremonies: 6 hour marathon of queer eye for the straight guy, followed by seasons 1-4 of greys anatomy

Day 1 of male gay olympics:

    Bobbin' for sausages

Pin the dildo on the homo

    surprise buttsex

    Operation (gender reassignment edition)

maybe you guys could figure out days 2-5

Too many :supergay: ideas for a straight man....

  6. Talk about all over the board...

Let me ask you this, why do you want a sportbike? The answer to this question will determine whether you go the Katana (sport touring) or the Ninja (sportbike/supersport) route.

I thought whether he ever wants to go on a Coshocton ride would determine whether he wanted a Katana or not?

  7. My drop was with nobody around, in front of the shop as I was closing up. I had just started the bike, pulled it out in front of the door with the laptop loaded up, got off the bike to finish locking up, started to walk away and BAM, I hear this awful crunch. I didn't have the fairings on it at the time, so the damage was minimal, just a turn signal that I super-glued temporarily. I was in a hurry, as it was raining, and didn't make sure I got the kickstand down completely.

Good job on getting it up by yourself!

  8. Plug the AC power with the battery installed, and hope the battery charges up after a while.

It's not typical, but I've had a couple of laptops in for repair that had terminally dead batteries. Those would not start with the battery in, on AC power. I removed the battery, and they would start on AC power.

Some of the newer laptops have a separate cheap part for the power plug inside the laptop. Saves the system board from damage if it's dropped on that plug. Cheap part, but sometimes not so easy to replace.

My Toshiba has a separate jack, with a harness attached for the charger input. I have dropped mine on the plug, so I bought a new one on ebay to fix it. Well wouldn't you know it, that part didn't break, but the slots that it sets into in the laptop shell broke! Super glue FTW!
