  1. If we ride fast, we can beat it by the time we get to...
  2. http://www.tirebusiness.com/article/20121029/NEWS/121029916/michelin-tweel-for-skid-steers-launched-updated
  3. Yeah, I've seen the tweel, but I just found out that it's 75+ year old tech! http://blog.modernmechanix.com/rubber-spokes-give-bounce-to-airless-safety-tires/
  4. I thought I was the only one that noticed! He's probably only 21 years old, too!
  5. I had typed most of this up last night before you replied: Ah, the barn. I know a guy. A lot of the building stuff, I know a guy (you know him, too!) You WANT a basement out here. Have you forgotten how often tornadoes seem to hit out this way? Also, what happens below ground level, stays below ground level! If you do go with a basement (and I highly recommend it) just as others have said, DRAINAGE! It'e probably not a bad idea to double up on the sump pump well, or have a larger one put in to accommodate and extra sump pump, because those things do fail, and it's always when you need them the most (we have a friend that can tell you all about this!) Also, try to leave room in the budget for an automatic generator, or at least have provisions in place for one to be added. You WILL need a good water softener out here! Building a house is something that I would love to do, and I have put some thought into some of the cool things that I would do. One thing is using water for heat, gas fired boiler, and wood burner, run tubing in the garage and basement floors to heat them. Having the wood burner, or at least provisions to be able to add one later just gives you an option later, along with the auto generator (I would look into options there, for multi-fuel, etc..) just in case the SHTF. One thing that I can't believe I hardly see is a heated driveway, and sidewalks. The cost to install would be pretty low, and if you're using water for heat anyway, a heat exchanger would be all that's needed. I don't think it would take all that much to bring the temp of it up a few degrees to melt the snow off, but I may be wrong there. Call me up or stop out sometime for some of the other cool ideas I have! Also, while the excavator is there, have them move some dirt for a nice range backstop!
  6. Yeah, this sounds like what I need to do for sure! I let it rest for about a half hour. I may be trying again this weekend.
  7. Too bad Sprint doesn't have anywhere in Ohio listed as getting LTE any time soon. Ugh... That's ok, I don't use the mobile data all that much anyway, most of the time that I need much internet speed I'm around wifi anyway.
  8. That DNA looks a LOT like my HTC EVO LTE for Sprint, with the exception of the red on the DNA, and the kickstand on the EVO. I'm betting they're the same phone. That said, the EVO LTE has been great, other than Sprint doesn't have LTE service in Ohio yet.
  9. Nope, I know not to get a corned brisket. That's usually all they have locally, and they just happened to have some regular briskets this week. I'm going to try elsewhere to get a better cut for next weekend, I believe. From what I've been reading, USDA Angus is the way to go. I really don't think it was over done. I just barely hit 170 degrees internal temperature, and the fat wasn't quite breaking down like one would expect when it's done. So I'm pretty sure this is another case of needing more time in the smoker!
  10. Hmm... I didn't see this before! If it's still around in a few weeks, I may be interested.
  11. Brisket. It turned out decent. The flavor was good, the bark had a little kick to it (according to my wife) but I think I should have left it on a while longer, and hit it with more smoke than I did. I also need to find a place to get a better cut, as it was pretty tough, and I don't know that cooking it longer would have done it. It wasn't dried out at all, in fact it had juices oozing when I took it out!
  12. The plan is for brisket to go on in the morning!
  13. I think this is why they're trying to stop individuals selling guns to each other.
  14. It gets old if used too often, then it becomes expected, but once in a while, out of the blue it is pretty funny!
  15. I will be really interested in seeing how he votes when (I wish it was an if) it gets that far. Yes, I'm pretty confident that it will go to a vote in Congress.
  16. Not if done right! That's why I don't get a steak at restaurants, they can't do well-done, right. I have made cooked steaks on my grill that I thought were just good, then went to a steakhouse restaurant days later and realized how much better mine were! I'm a meatetarian, not a cannibal!
