  1. I dislike the above 2 posts.  Almost a month ago, I went to Wendy's for lunch, slipped on the ice and fucked up my had, the one that was almost healed from carpal tunnel surgery.

So, I combined both of those posts with my real life pain.

How'd it turn out? My brisket was was to done for out liking, but was still tasty good. I cooked it to 185 and there was little to no pink inside. Next time I think I will pull it around 170'ish and have a peek inside.

Yeah, if you want it to have pink on the inside, you'll have to pull it much sooner than that.  The point of letting brisket go so long though, is that it is a pretty tough cut of meat, and "overcooking" it helps, as long as it's kept moist.  IMHO, it's brisket, not steak. ;)  That's the cool thing about BBQ, you can do it however YOU want it to be!

150, it was still plenty rare. Had a strong smoke flavor. It was still good but the kids didn't like it. As fast as it cooked I probably didn't need the 2nd batch of wood chips.

I'm looking for a beef brisket to smoke around Christmas time. $8 a pound at my local giant eagle.

I get most of my meat at Sam's Club.  I've also been told that The Anderson's has some really good stuff.

One thing that I don't see mentioned here is the water pan.  Keep that sucker full!  When doing an overnight smoke, I get through a couple cups of chips (couple hours) then set my remote thermometer to alarm me at about 250 degrees.  If it gets that high, it's because the water pan went empty.  I fill the water pan and go back to sleep.

When I do brisket. I usually take it up to about 190 degrees so that it will be nice and tender, falling apart.  A trick that I learned from a local BBQ restaurant is after the smoke, seal it up in a plastic bag (such as a crockpot liner, or baking bag) with some juice, or water and let it go until it's at temp.

I read a study that said long term effects of having the surgery, which can create a little scar tissue, can make glaucoma more difficult to detect.  I'll have to see if I can find the article.

One of my co-workers just had his done, lens replacement, to take care of glaucoma.  Not long after, he went in to have the other eye done.

Is anyone here using Google Project Fi? looks amazingly cheap for my uses I'm just wondering about coverage out in the sticks.

    https://fi.google.com/about/

I had forgotten all about that!  They use multiple networks, so you SHOULD be covered if anyone offers service out where you need it.  I'm going to look into WHICH networks they do use, though.

  6. Been with Sprint forever, around 16 years, I think.  The service is adequate for where I need to work.  Prices are about the same as others, except I get 40GB of data out of my 20GB plan!  I only use about 10-15 max most of the time, though.  It's something like $100 a month minus the 20% discount, plus $15 for each line.  They ONLY discount the plan, not the $15 for each line, or the phones.  So, I don't think they would be any cheaper for you, even with their new plans.

BTW...  Beware of "Unlimited" plans!  Sprint clearly states that video streaming, and certain other content is knocked down to a lower quality with their new plans.

Bump. Lower price due to new iPhone being released.

$450 or trade for 6 or 6S non-plus. Awesome phone, but I need something smaller for running.

Trade in and use the deals that carriers have going right now?  They're just doing it with monthly credits, to keep you on their network.

Some riders do that "slow in the corners and fuckin' race bike! in the straights" bullshit.

This is a struggle for those of us that ride small bikes that can't go that fast in the straights.  I don't NEED a bike that will go that fast in a straight line to smoke your ass in the corners.  If you're holding me up, GTFO of my way!  This is one of the few reasons that I'd like to have a bigger bike.

Moderating this site I imagine is a lot like being a kindergarten teacher; a whole lot of "he called me a bad name", "she pulled my hair", "I think so-and-so is sleeping with my wife", etc.

WTF happened the "This thread is worthless without pics" smiley?  @Casper

I think @jbot should be disqualified.  In a few months he is NOT going to be able to spend the time required to be a mod, due to letting the boys swim. :nono:
